it's a sad ending but not so sad. Look in the village and you will found sherlotta again in the form of that cat.

I just finished ff ring of fates too it's a bit sad too :( sherlotta looks a bit like chelinka but I guess sherlotta isn't afraid of ghost xD haha I really love final fantasy and kingdom hearts <3

Well, she's 2000 years old, and she's the only one that can create crystals, and if any of the crystals survived, the war for the crystals would continue. So, she basically died for the world's safety.

At the end, eventually the small crystal will grow into a new crystal core. I really got sad by the ending though.
