Mossberg makes/used to make a far better product for this purpose: the "Loc-Box"

It actually secures the firearm and it looks like the chamber hook prevents it from going into battery while locked up,so there's no using it against you and undisciplined/untrained kids can't hurt themselves. It's still quicker than a regular safe, but a way to make it better would be to have a biometric scan or 4 button combo like on GunVault boxes. The key seems inconvenient.
