  • the cameraman should have bought a tripod >.<

  • HORNET >>>>>> the rest

  • 4:13 stolen jacket!!!;)

  • since when the ducati monster is considered a ''budget'' bike???

  • Honda hornet FTW.

  • fucken clowns thats the 3rd test i have seen mcn do and as the rest a complete waist of my time , they are doing someone out of a good job.

  • That visor is illegal.

  • @gingermonkeykid if a cop EVER bugs you about your visor you were probably already behaving like a retard and he's just looking for more things to add to the tab. Lesson - Don't act like a fucking tool in public and you don't get tickets, you get to keep your bike and your life.

  • pointless!!

  • This was just about a compleat waste of time. No real good shots of any bike, and no specs the bikes, Like tank size & MPG, The list goes on.

  • 3:42 that's just the funniest camera shot I've seen. All respecting the speed limit, and it just ends with a cheesy zoom in to the horizon. Damn, who gave my father the camera? Haha

  • I like the kawa the most

  • Does anybody know the name of the song that appears on this video? By the way... Tha Yamaha looks great! Pretty aggressive and sport-like look!

  • Ducati monster is a low price Ducati. This model is at least 15 yers behind......(sorry to say but its the truth....)

  • Ducati works best on sunny italian roads after a few beers. worst of the bunch don't understand why its so popular.

  • I bought a Gladius nine months ago and have done 10k miles on it. I swapped the rear shock for an £40 ebay GSXR 750 one and now have a fast bike with quick steering, but rock solid, handling.

I agree the styling is not sharp enough and Suzuki's marketing has been abysmal. It deserves better press as it's a great machine that will be just as quick as any sports bike on a twisty back road . If you fancy a supermoto but are worried about twitchy handling try a Gladius. Not just for girls!

  • They call these bikes "budget"...??? some are just toooo rich here!

  • I hate those mayhem commercials, So much I going to drop them for being my insurance Co. There so stupid, and so is Allstate for using them. They judge these bikes on some weird stuff. Not much of a test if you ask me.

  • I am glad to hear that the Gladius did so well. I am thinking about buying one tomorrow. I like it. The one I am looking at has 900 miles on it and they want 5200 for it

  • @Spinder00 They were trying out budget bikes the Street Triple is awesome but not cheap.

  • Comment removed

  • @Spinder00 The Street Triple isn't an Entry level, it has something like 40cv more then all of these.

  • Comment removed

  • @Spinder00 the best bike of the category is Suzuki B-King. Its a real king!

  • @Spinder00 man check the street triple's price and the prices of xj6,er6-n etc!they are not in the same category!greetings from greece!!! :)

  • @Spinder00

    "2009 BUDGET nakeds group test"

  • I just bought a gladius today. Fantastic bike and I got it for $5,000 us dollars.

  • i choose the suzuki

  • Don`t put a music over bike sound!!!! Why do you do that?

  • WTF IS THAT HELMET IN GLADIUS RIDER!!!!

  • Buy a street triple.......And spend all your money at the garage...

  • "The ER6 N looks too American," said by the obviously oblivous. All of them look Italian, genius. For it took look American it would have to look like a sportster or some retro-styled rip-off Indian.

  • @spalex300, one example would be the gladius in the color they are showing in this video. If you have every seen the advertisement that Suzuki has come up with for the gladius, you can see that Suzuki has marketed the Gladius for homosexual american men. It is very clear. Having said that, one can make the Gladius in black into a hetero Ducati like clone "street-fighter". Just add flat handlebars, a good masculine exhaust, and fender eliminator and you have a sharp looking little bike for men.

  • you say that ducati a budget??? sucks!

  • I hate the Kawasaki's ER6, it looks too american. If the Gladius was gotten in Black, it would appear more of a hetero-bike, but they chose the american homo-bike colors. The FJ looks good. The Ducati looks good too, like a Ducati. I just hope the Ducati doesn't fall apart on the way back to the shop.

  • @Tophairybutt Im just curious whats an american homo bike? Is that like a bike that you have to be gay to ride? You sound a little insecure about americans and homosexuals, did u get raped by a gay american? Btw the Gladius does come in black i take delivery on my hopefully this coming tuesday. ;)

  • im 5,8... 285lbs. think i could take on a naked bike?

  • @fourpointohh lose some weight, you should buy a push bike not one with an engine

  • @steady2wheels I bet your perfect! Find your own flaws and take care of them befor you attack some one elses. =P

  • Honda CB1000R is a great naked

  • Suzuki needs to just give up on their naked bikes. They're all ugly as fuck IMO. Kawi Z1000 FTW

  • @RainesPhotography the GSR looks nice imo, gladius sucks :)

  • What's the point of detuning a Fazer? "Aww man this butter knife is too sharp, I'm going to start cutting my toast with a tennis ball."

  • @aluisious make it easier and cheaper for every day or new rider...

ride a FZ6 and compare it to the XJ6, you'll understand.

  • @aluisious for places with strict power restrictions

  • @aluisious to be fair, i normally use a bread knife to cut my toast and the butter knife to just spread butter and jam and stuff

  • @aluisious they wanna keep it around 70hp to attract beginner riders!

  • @aluisious

I don't know much about bikes, but this comment is hilarious :D

  • @aluisious more low mid torque perhaps? important for the commuting type motorcycle.

  • @aluisious Making it cheaper! Cheers, Mate!

  • @aluisious i don't know where you live but gas is really expensive in Turkey. ( earnings/gas price) So when you wanna buy a 4 cylinder naked but don't wanna a 90-100 hp bike to save some money, you can't just go and buy fz6 which is 98 hp or fz8 106 hp or z750 etc. also check out the different country sites for motorcycle brands, you'll see the model difference, we don't have as many options as most of the other countries.

    But deep inside you're right

  • @aluisious lower insurance group? and easier to handle for new riders. hence naked budget bikes.

  • I think the sv looks more like a baby mv agusta brutale in the right colors. Look at them side by side and you'll see. Call it what you want, but all bikes change eventually. Just look at the new speed triple. An awesome motor can make one forget about the looks.

  • GLADIUS = Monster wanna be

  • If anyone here finds it girly, that's fine, we're all entitled to our opinions.

But don't say any of the others are better unless you've ridden them all; once you've ridden them all you'll almost certainly prefer the Gladius. It's so much more fun than the others, much more character. I had planned to buy the ER6, which is a very good bike, but I tried them all and it was a no-brainer - the Gladius wins. I bought the Gladius, and love it. Trust me, do yourselves a favour, and ride them all.

  • i want the svs back!!!!!!! i like the 99,02 style.

  • cant wait for my brand new gladius...:-) ive seen it, ride it....damn so easy to ride on...the speed, comfortability...everything is there...thats why i give up my gsxr to replace this small but gorgeous looking bike...and the name..doesnt matter...the ride does. though the name itself comes from the latin word meaning "Sword"...

  • Nice, Sfv Gladius is a winner... But anyway, each of us like something else. Don't be so pathetic about Sfv's gay look. Have you ever seen it in real? In black is absolutely gorgeous.

    Cheers

    Mario

  • I think the Gladius looks great, but in a different way than the SV.

  • what about the Aprilia Mana 750 GT ABS?

that Italian beast deserves a review too, not just the Ducati and two Japanese monsters :/

  • the gladius is like the sv's gay cousin

  • 696 is little pricey but in terms of braking, cornering and feeling is by far the best!

  • The Gladius only looks good in black and green....and with that color I'd buy a Kawasaki Z750.

  • Gladius is a cheap piece of crap, girly looking bike. For the money Mayyyybe. But then again no thanks.

  • yamaha and kawasaki \o/

  • gladius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ER - 6n

  • I'm going for the Yamaha and the Ducati

  • Girly bike.

  • 2:40 Which song is that ?

  • F all of them. Buy a Street Triple

  • @wheelsmgd finaly somebody who has common sense!

  • @wheelsmgd ok so when mcn puts street triple in the comparison people bitch that mcn is nationalist because it wins everytime but when street triple is not in the competition people bitch because is not in here

  • @wheelsmgd hence the title, BUDGET.

  • @wheelsmgd hence the title, BUDGET.

  • @wheelsmgd But it is double the price, this is for people on a budget.

  • @wheelsmgd F the Street Triple. Buy a Speed Triple.

  • Ducati Ducati Ducati Ducati Ducati Ducati!

  • @CapStark If you can get it to start reliably. If you can get it to run smoothly and reliably. If you don't mind paying more. All the Ducati has going for it in this category is the exhaust sound.

  • Just want to say, you guys do a fantastic job on your reviews. I have always enjoyed your perspective on the bikes you review.

  • Divy ftw!

  • ok guys is it worth buying a 50cc aprillia or should i just wait a couple of years and buy some real nice fast bikes for the smae price (practically ) :D?

  • @dragonslayer1st 50cc mopeds have a top speed of about 32mph. I've done 40mph on a bicycle. Save your pennies for another year until you're old enough for a 125cc.

  • @spankeyfish hahaahaha 32mph? yeah when you just bought it.. give me like half an hour with a 50cc and it'll be a lot more!

  • shit....no the SV is gone now... i guess the ducati monster is a good replacement

  • @classicminiman13 too late...already bought an sv650...and it's naked!!

  • weres the kawi z750 in all this

  • @marctsi No, its over 6 grand

  • @W1LDWESLEY... i agreed with you last week, but the xj6 looks a little cleaner... got to try em both i guess!!!

  • @classicminiman13 suzuki have now brought the sv650 sport back into there range no, i'm not kidding!

  • I have a er6n very good bike but very lumpy wish they have a 4 pot so I am selling thebike after 14 months good riding it but looking at the xj6 now

  • HEY EVERYON I know its stupid comment but im so excited i was Going to get the old naked sv 650 but my parents are about to bye Me a 2000 SV 650 SF (sport fairyng custom ) =D=D so excited =D

  • Danm bikes are cheap in England! In Norway they cost twice as much!

  • @classicminiman13 THE xj-6 is nicest ;)

  • wo ist die Hornet die sieht eh am besten aus.

  • £4500 .... goto a Dealer and they will tell you £5200 and £300 on the road... so yeh.. i don't think so.

  • what is better the xj6 or er6n???because I will have one of this models and I cannot choose which one is better...

  • I´d choose the xj6. I got one myself, xj6 DIVERSION,(can see my video) it´s funtastic bike for all kinds of people, even beginners. It´s a "got to have one" bike, very very good , it´s smoother but energetic when you need it to be. It´s also very pretty, and catches all kind of looks, (mostly girls). It´s easy to handle even in short turns .I trully advise you the xj6.

  • my two cents: the kawi er-6n has great muscular design, easy to ride, superior dynamic, fastest coming out of curves, muffler never touches the ground on high speed turns.

  • @hai2you2 not everyone in the world enjoys riding bullet bikes. In fact I don't know why people enjoy being hunched over all the time just to go straight it's really stupid.

  • @vampov leaning forward may be uncomfortable, but i think having a fairing is so much nicer. i am about to buy my next bike. i love thes v-twins...but the lack of wind protection will probably lead me to buy 600cc "crotch rocket".

  • @alantecontra how about a faired sv650?

  • @classicminiman13 the sv650 is still around and bad A on the tracks but the gladius is just a street fighter that uses the sv engine. If you have back problems like me the gladius is awesome!

  • i like gladius, even though i have the sv 650

  • @hai2you2

They still sell new 2010 SV650SAs here in Canada, as well as the naked one. On top of that they got ABS now. Want one so bad, come and get one.

  • Video muito bom, Parabéns.

VEJAM em meu canal HONDA CB 300R COM ABS.

    Vale a pena assistir.

    Marcelo Magno.

  • 4.37 +.........

    Tell me..........

What the fuck does the temperatre/ season have to do with how a bike rides?

I mean, I know, colder weather is gonna make a bike perform a lil bit better.... but for fuck sake..... should that have ANYTHING to do with a road test?.....

    Suck me if u dis-agree.

  • Im planning to purchase this kind of bike next week...and with this video, thought the monster is the best...but yayyyy...im too much excited for my new gladius..soon.:-)

  • ohh no, not MCN. The test they make SUCKS

  • I got my new ER-6n ABS in February and got 1.800km on the counter in march now - and all what i can say is "absolute fantastic - pure fun to drive that bike"

  • er 6n headlight looks like a scooters but er6f is really nice

if i were the one to pick would put ducati 1st

  • i wanna buy a suzuki gladius and after few years i wanna buy a suzuki b king

  • ER6N's look is just all about liking, if you don't like it that doesn't make it a bad motocycle. Personnaly I love it, and the driving part is just perfect to me.

  • wheres hornet and street triple .????

  • ok, it's your taste, and i'm not joking...

  • I prefer Yamaha Xj6.. because is my new bike, and I prefer Japanese tipe!!

is very easy to ride, is beautifull and the sound is very nice.. my Yamaha color is Yellow... and i want to remember you that Yamaha is the moto of Valentino Rossi.. the best rider in the history of bikes!!!!!!!

  • Yer the gladius is a great bike thats the one for me

  • just ducati!

  • FINALLY A GOOD REVIEW!!!! and one in english lol. thank you!

  • Living in a terraced house one of my main considerations is: Can I physically get the damn thing into my yard. The exhaust under the ER6 really helps. Big pipes sweeping up the side are a hindrance and any scratches I put on knock down my trade in price. MCN may want to consider these issues when testing. Especially in these days of thieving scroats that make leaving a bike out on the street a risky business. I agree that the Gladius is a great bike though at the price.

  • how many fuel the xj6 need for 100 kmh does anyone know for sure ???

  • 7/8 L

  • ohh you mean 7 - 8 .. i didnt get it this way..

  • the Duke any time

  • what about the BMW f800r??? i knew it's a 800 but what d0 you think of it..... i meat summer is not far away and ive gonna get my licence in april and and right now my favorite for the first bike in my life to buy is THE BMW F800R

  • @Mexesrecords f800r is not a budget bike. ducati should also not belong in this test.

  • Ducati over those bikes anyday.

  • and the winner is...

    Triumph Street Triple

  • The soundtrack is really good compared to the usual one.

  • lol the best is ducati

  • @akaasdasdka Ducati monster is nice bike, but try Suzuki Gladiator yourself...you'll like it much better - whole lot more power and ridability.

  • Wahh love it..

Wish that i could ride one..

    (n_n)

  • The Gladius looks so sexy,..

  • my favorite (and i want it) is er-6n because of the good looking and styling, gladius is not as good looking as er-6n but complitely the best...

  • XJ6 OR NOTHING, IT F.CKS!!!!

  • YAAAAAAY SUZUKI GLADIUS.

    ITS MY FAVORIT TOO

though i only got to sit on it.

  • i don't like the styling... think they look to girly... i would have the xj, or maybe even the z750

  • @W1LDWESLEY ...n00b

  • you guys are having FUUunnn without me ,O_O,

  • Well people are sayin gladius is a girls bike and i somewhat agree due to the advertising of suzuki on tv, i only see posers riding it, the bike looks like a monster replica.... from these 4 the xj6 wins but its also a replica of FZ6 only less powerfull and with more weight in it. Bottom line get a Street Triple or a old sv650

  • no comment...only Ducati !!!!

  • Helpful vid, thanks!

  • Er-6n the best! I have one and it's very good to ride!

  • yes, love it

  • er6n looks better with blue..

  • You guys forgot to include the 2009 Honda CB600F Hornet. It probably smoked it's competitors. I mean...game over! NO contest :-)

  • dont think so, thats the Street Triple's job ; )

  • hornet is a higher class than these here. hornet could be compared to fazer, gsr600, and z750.

  • swingarms of yamaha and suzuki look cheap

  • they lookf the too similar to my 2k cbf swingarm.

  • gotta be the gladius or the duke

  • Damn. That Ducati Monster is hot stuff. Dayam.

  • nice DUCATI

  • suzuki rock!!!!!!!

  • How is it's name "gay"? It is a latin word meaning "sword".
