The Flyers brought Holmgren in to replace Dave 'The Hemorrhoid' Schultz and that's exactly what Holmgren did --- by eating knuckle sandwiches served by Taz, just like Schultz used to.

A friend of mine went to camp with Holmgren in the late '70s and said that in practice, Holmgren would try to splatter you all over the boards; but if you checked him, he'd drop the gloves. O'Reilly taught this asshole a badly needed lesson.

Although Philly does it more, these two teams are known for running interference-during the game, just before fights, during fights, & after fights. I'll give Boston slight credit...at least they don't run to help their guy when he's being beaten like the Flyers. Billy Smith was doubled up by cheevers and belanger. Smith was beating up Bob Kelly and someone helped Kelly and he wiggled out of it. K. Crowder hit an Islander after being held by another Bruin. NY teams fuck you up the ass solo!
