  • Paul Hardcastle's music is ahead of the crowd. This is a beautiful piece that captures all of the quirks of the 80's. I love the , well, everything about Rain Forest!!! It's wonderful from the first note to the last.

  • They used to do THE POP Dance to this tune back in the day....

  • This is the masterpiece that got me into Hardcastle in the first place! Even after 20+ years its still a terrific song!! Keep'em com'in Paul!!!

  • They used to play this tune on FEN (Far East Network) in Japan just before the station identification. Every single day!!!! Takes me back to that time instantly! :)

Man, I really do miss the good 80s!!

  • @TiramisuHappy was in Sasebo in the early 90s---gotta love FEN!

  • paul was my hero when i was 13, this he made even before, still gives me good feelings, and my inspirator from then till now...after 25 years!!

  • I am lucky enough to have this on vinyl in pristine condition, takes me back in time every chance I get to put it on, just a great cut. Would love to have an older convertible, top down, this playing on the radio driving down AIA on the FLorida beach, sun shining in my face , what a great ride that would be.

  • This is another one of my favorite tracks by Paul Hardcastle next 2 "King Tut" & "19". Paul Hardcastle has some serious soul & you have to have the same amount, if not more to understand him. Big up 2 Video Soul"& Video Vibrations" Big up 2 Donnie Simpson & Yolonda Gaskins. ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nothing will ever compare to music from the late 70's to the late 80's !!!!no way !!! a for cry from the shit they play now called music !!!!!!

  • If anyone dislikes this song they don't have an ear for music, too bad haters ha ha!!!

  • @interestingtheory414 No he's still very much alive.

  • THAT'S THAT HOT SHIT!!!!

  • I remember hearing this over and over again on the radio but never knowing who made it. ONE lucky day the DJ finally informed the audience of the title and artists and said everytime he plays he gets dozens of calls asking the same question. Imagine how ridiculous it sounds calling up the radio station and having to hum the melody to a song without words lol. Anyway...classic.

  • no lie WE NEED 2 BRING BACK 80S AND 90S MUSIC

  • @DaYoungRunnaReeves You got that right, can't get enuff of the 80's,my therapist is trying, damn him

  • yall should hear his group "Kiss The Sky" they are ridiculously good!

  • this is real electro!!!!!!

  • This is the song that hooked me on to Paul Hardcastles' music. And it's still good to this day. I have all of his Hardcastle 1-6 and Jazzmasters 1-6 and his Journey to a Different State of Mind DVD which is absolutely brilliant!

  • I'm a 42 year old white guy that back in the day couldn't dance for shit BUT ! this was THE song that taught me to dance BLACK !

Hey hoo hey hoo ! :) And I can still pull the moves today !

    Anyone fancy a dance ??

  • @MINISTRYOFPIPS OMG! I love this! I'm a tad older and black, lol! I would love to dance!:) Been dancin most of my life.Don't like too much of todays stuff. I love the music of the 80's, and jazz will never get old.

  • I discovered Hardcastle music with this song back in the 2006 when i was 14, since that moment I can't stop listening to him

  • This is real music right here.

  • I have wondered--off and on-- what the name and artist of this song was for 2 years now. I thought about it again today, and finally did some blind research. Thank goodness, searching "top instrumental songs of the '80s" gave me some things to search, and I landed here. Really sweet tune, especially the laser-blast sound on the 4th beat of every other measure! Currently on repeat...

  • played this song my soph yr at St. Aug (marching band). The clip is on youtube. This song is groovin...I mean groovin...yeaaaahhhh!

  • just does not get better...........mmmmmmmmm

  • Finally, good ole relaxing music v_v

  • MY QUESTION IS -- HOW CAN YOU DISLIKE THIS????? LIKE SERIOUSLY....

  • @DrOCkABlEs only stupid people can dislike it :P

  • @DrOCkABlEs If you're lame, hah hah.

  • @DrOCkABlEs The reason is people can't acknowledge Paul Hardcastle is a very good keyboard player. I love this song, I got his album. Rainforest is the last, track 13.

  • @DrOCkABlEs he came out with his own groove and help save the era, We can't dislike it nor him.

  • This music was also a favorite among breakdancers and bodybulders to dance on or a music accompaniment to pose with, It is smooth with some upbeat tempos, the synth work is just amazing, just perfect.

  • This is a timeless jazz-funk instrumental, one of my old time favorites.

  • Rave music much? X-P

Seriously, every time i hear this song my mind automatically goes to strobe lights, smoke machines and glow sticks. . . .

But based on the comments here, I'm glad that I'm not the only person under the age of 25 who loves this song (and the music of Paul Hardcastle in general) ^_^

  • I heard this when I was 7/8 years old; got me hooked on house music :)

  • I remember this from the early eighties Brit Funk scene, oh what a great time that was. This was the some of the earliest snyth based jazz-funk music and it still sounds good today. A real summer chilling track.

  • TR-808 all the way

  • Classic

  • What I like a lot, reading these messages, are the young guys that like these old skool classics. I remember this first hand and its great that a new generation can sense how good this stuff was. Excelllent !!!!!!

  • pop locking rite now!!!!!

  • The 12" mix is a killer track!

  • yea babe

  • im 13yrs old but love old school

  • up tempo smooth jazz legend!!!!!!!!

  • This is a great tune!

  • The funny thing, his style hasn't changed much in over 25 years! LOL He still has really cool and smooth jams like this, with a very jazzy feel to them. Very talented guy!!

  • Lol I remember this like it was yesterday when I was a kid im glad I grow up during the 80s

  • used to body pop to dis in skool days

  • I played this everyday to start happy hour and make announcements at Mickey D's Speakeasy. Tampa, Fl. back in the day. OLD SCHOOL RULES.

  • nothing like the 80s!

  • OooWeee... I've been jamming t this on synths and Rhodes for years!

Damn... this makes me crazy... I love this!

  • i swear to god... i heard this on a megaman x game

  • @devlin0497 Rofl! That's why I picked up his music like 10 years ago when I was 9 I was playing ape escape and I heard this song on the radio and thought it was from like megaman x4 or ape escape. XD

  • @zerolv30000 holy crap XD

  • I loved Hardcastle's music as a break from the classical and opera music I was immersed in. Just listening to the track from a Criminal Minds, using Martine Girault's Revival put me right back in the Hardcastle space.

  • tell u this i remeber when it first hit the radio every since then i have been such a fan of paul hardcastle and the jazzmasters series ty so much for the upload very relaxing song

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RELAXING

  • SKATING SONG...HEEEYYY!!

  • @senpuu1440 aren't you ashamed to have embarrassed yourself making that ridiculous comment. You're 23 people were breakdancing to this before you were born - it was one of the absolute classic hiphop jams back in the 80s.

  • i remember this being on the radio in 1 of my first jobs-i was a messenger in this office and this also used to come on the radio (radio London) and the birds in the office always used to turn it up-what a great jam - then he had '19' not too long after which i heard for weeks on the London pirates before it was released and i knew it would go straight to number1 in the pop charts. Paul Hardcastle used to make jazz-funk before the hiphop - top stuff too! then i think he made an acid house record

  • So 80's, great song!

  • What an incredibly beautiful song. It makes me want to be with my wife getting and staying in tune with her. she's way more incredibly beautiful than this song though. Sorry, I got carried away as I always do with this song.

  • I'd f**k Rihanna

This is a great tune for ending house sets, blissful.

  • @mattstone12

rihanna has herpes, thats why chris brown beat her. now he have it. avoid both

  • @paulc43 What the fuck are you on about?

    Take your meaningless piffle elsewhere.

  • @mattstone12

ok bang her and see what happens to your junk

  • @paulc43 You think I have that option? Paul you must be as stoned as I am.

  • Ayo, Incredibol beat very very old school bboying music!

  • Can't...stop...dancing!

  • Man my aunt used to play this every mornin when she dropped me off at school

  • rare funk

  • Man, good music will always be good music no matter when it came out. Even though this song is older than I am, I still just love listening to it. Hard to believe when the music industry is always trying to change itself and outdates artists as fast as it can.

  • @Kos107 So true! Good music never gets old. I can guarantee you that people 20 years from now, will not be listening to the crap presently on the radio.

    Hardcastle=legendary

  • @Kos107 You said it! Totally agree!
