@ironhidewatson It's not really that big of a surprise, since the same fleet and flagship in Hoth for the Empire leads the attack on the Rebel fleet on Return of the Jedi.

@ironhidewatson The Fleet's name was Death squadron, created by Palpatine and led by Darth Vader, comprising of the first super star destroyer, the Executor, and several top of the line ships. Had the fleet taken earlier action and engaged the rebel fleet outright instead of sitting in a corner with their thumbs up their ass, (just as Palpie told them to) they would've beaten the Rebels.

@dennisnedry It was done intentionally. Likely they were thinking that if the body exploded, you would die. So instead it was easier to just blow up the head. I don't remember if that's what happened in the movie or not.

I guess a chain reaction from the engine, being the power source for the laser cannons, to the weapons since they were running hot. But that's just a fan coming up with a little game logic. Besides, it's just cool.

The problem with this game, compared to especially the first one, was that it didn't feel like a "real" game. It had awesome graphics for it's time, and was a lot of fun the first time you played it. But it felt like a "best of" game, only it didn't cover the best, it covered what hadn't been covered before. So it was sort of a "best of the rest" kind of game. Also, I think the lack of freedom was quite negative. It almost felt like an "on rails" kind of game.

Damn right, this game is easily by for the BEST looking game of that entire generation. The amount of detail in this hoth level is unbelievable.

The clouds cast rolling shows over the mountains and the snow.

Theres hundreds of solides shooting lasers everwhere which light the whole path the bullets take.

All the textured are bump mapped to fuck and look 3 dimensional.

there is NOTHING on Wii that looks this damn good.

Imagine this game in HD - it would be "next gen"

wii is actually 3 times more powerful than the gamecube, wii also has the same tech thts used in the gamecube which is the TEV tht makes rebel strike and rougue squadron look this good, but the thing is developers dont take advantage of this, because they want to be babysitted to the HD consoles stuff thts already made for them and too lazy to make shaders unlike the wii where it takes effort to make a beuatiful game and it shows, wii hasent even been pushed yet.

I fail the mission by not being able to lift the X-wing out of the swamp, and I accomplish the mission by not being able to lift the X-wing out of the swamp and hearing Luke say, "I c-can't, it's------so, (pant) (pant)-----heavy!" He said something like that when I beat the game for only once. Do you get what I mean tell you about this mission's problem? Anybody?

The stupid thing I had with this game happened in the Trial of a Jedi mission. In the movie, Luke could only lift his X-wing a little bit. In the game, when I had to repettitively push the "B" button faster and faster to lift the ship out, I can get the X-wing pretty far out of the swamp, but I always drop it back into the swamp too soon and fail the mission. It is accomplished after you Luke's fighter up only a little higher, but he drops it and says it's too heavy and mission accomplished.
