muy interesante el video. yo vivo en Colombia y hay 1´000.000 de damnificados por las lluvias. Cuál seria la mejor vivienda para colombia en este momento?
I wish I would have discovered this more then 3 days before I'm leaving for Burningman ^^ ...Though I did ponder running out and trying to fudge this one really quickly tomorrow, but alas, we have a wind generator to finish in two days, so once again, I will be boiling in a tent come 10AM. Thanks much for the demonstration. We'll definitely be sporting the 8' model next year... Burningman: always better next year.
Actually, if you check the web page, you can see there's an approach to doing really cheap electrical services, plumbing and everything else you would want in a basic home for the poor parts of the world.
Google: Hexayurt and then click on "Infrastructure Package" to get more details on all that stuff, or see the Presentation that's also on that web site.
Actually, we've tested these out in the Nevada desert in about 40-50 mile per hour winds. We lived in one for two weeks out at Burning Man =). The key is in the tape,an anchor you make from the tape and then guy it down. If you check out my other videos, I believe there is one of Vinay making the tape anchor.
You know add some size to it, and some way to have electricals and plumbing, you would end up with a nice pre-fab cottage concept, a sort of counter to the "MCMansion".
Where the hell would they get this material?! I think the homes they have now are sturdier, and they're definitely taller. Thanks a million for your contribution; any bit helps!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
It's ironic that you use hexagon shape, which is based on bee's structure, when you are providing housing for what amounts to useless cockroaches.

And you call yourself "enlightened?" Nice try, troll. Your bridge awaits.

My mistake - you mentioned cardboard and other measurements. Thanks again!
