She by- passes by far any female so- called actress now a days. She is very exotic and I do appreciate her pretty face and classiness. I just really learned of her around a week ago. Its unfortunate that unless one searches , will never see what was once there.
I met Myrna as a lad of 14. My mother was her agent at MCA. They became great friends. Myrna & I became very close also. We lived opposite each other on 63rd St. NYC.
I suffer inwardly when I encounter younger people who do not know her name or who she was. Perhaps foolish, but she was not only a beautiful woman and a wonderful actress. She was intelligent, dignified, charming and loving. She enriched my life in many ways.
Really? that is so cool! im 16 but i wish i could've met her, she is my favorite actress and i often wonder what it would be like to meet her. she must have been a wonderful person to know by the words you used to describe her.
Hi globalman, thanks for sharing. Myrna is my favorite actress. And through her acting the wonderful human being showed through. Luck you!!!! I hope someday that TCM will do a special of all of the wonderful tributes on YouTube.
You are so lucky to have met her, she seems like she would have been a class act. I agree I am in my 20's and I am still amazed how my generation over looks the classic of the past. Nothing we have today even comes close to the golden age of hollywood.
It's a thrill to hear from somebody who actually knew Miss Myrna. I wouldn't worry about her being forgotten. If YouTube is any indication she is only getting more popular with each passing year. I'm reading her autobiogaphy right now and my regret about never having met her grows with every page. Myrna was 54 (and gorgeous) when I was born, and if time travel really were possible, I go back to meet her in a heartbeat.
This almost made me weep. The lovely quote at the end, the evocative shot at 1:20...Myrna was was multi-faceted and I've never seen her versatility displayed more poignantly than in this tribute. Pity I only have time to watch your videos once in a while...they're like Belgian chocolates, to be savored bit by bit. Thanks for another delight.
And you even got her PreCode bathtub scene! Awesome job with the Loy tribute. I don't think it's possible for you to make a bad compilation - they're all good.
I hate Robbie Williams, but I could watch this tribute over and over. You should have done her academy awards presentation in 1991, would have been so much better!
Hi, I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some top 1930's movie star cards. They include: Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Maurice Chevalier, Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford ....
This New Year's Eve TCM featured all six Thin Man movies. What a wonderful treat.
I continue to come back and enjoy this beautiful and moving tribute.
