  • i died when i heard the prince says "I was raised to be charming not sincere" lol i started laffing so hard back stage hehehe

  • the song that cinderella sings is one of my faves

  • "I was raised to be charming not sincere"...lol

    that's jokes..

  • Little Red's great, really funny. I tried out for her, but I'm no good at singing.

  • rofl little red. . ."you can talk to birds?" i <3 that line so much!

  • i LOVE this song that Cinderella sings. my favorite in the whole show <3 Beautiful

  • "i was raised to be charming, not sincere."

    HAHAHA!!!!

  • "You can talk to birds?'lmao

  • People make mistakes, Fathers, mothers, People make mistakes Holding to their own, Thinking they're alone. Honor their mistakes, Fight for their mistakes, Everybody makes

     One another's terrible mistakes.....

  • I'm in into the woods right now as Little Red and "No One is Alone" is my favorite scene!

  • i love when Little Red says "You can talk to birds?"

  • that was really funny...lol

  • hahah the Prince's one-liner was AMAZING. lol so true

  • "I was born to be charming not sincere."

it sounds so mean and jerk-like but it's SO true!

all of us women ask for a prince charming and are upset when he goes with his natural feelings that we ALL feel.

it is wrong and i don't, under any circumstances, condone cheating but it isn't unforgivable.

  • that's a pretty in-depth analysis on a one liner. lol

  • hahahaha.

    thanks . . . i think.

  • Between "You can talk to birds..?" and "No One Is Alone," this is my favorite part of the whole show.

  • I agree wholeheartedly. That line dissolves me into laughing tears. "No One Is Alone" dissolves me into tears of beauty.

  • the prince is a dick

  • Lol I love"You can talk to birds?"Poor Little Red!This song is making tears come to my eyes

  • gosh this song makes me cry!

  • ".... i was raised to be charming... not sincere..." LOL!!

  • i love this musical but the bakers voice is really starting to get annoying

  • Was I the only one to cheer for Cinderella when she left the Prince??? He was completely unfaithful to her and it's amazing she didn't go crazy like slapping him! But then again I guess he did love her but it wasn't enough for him! Oh well

I loved the "You talk to birds?" line! It's so funny! Little Red is so sarcastic and funny, I love her! Also the line " I was raised to be charming not sincere" was another line I love! I was literally ROTFL the entire time! lol

  • I was relieved that she left him! She deserves more ;)

  • you can talk to bird!!! hahahahahahahahahahhaha x10000

  • "You can talk to birds...?" XD One of the best lines in the show!

  • ..."you can talk to birds?" lol. hahaha my fav' are cinderella, the bakers wife, the witch and red riding hood.

  • :)

    i know right

  • hahahaha;)

  • It's very rare to find such a fantastic show where the entire cast is so amazing.

They really don't make them like this anymore.

  • There's no such thing as "happily ever after" as evidenced by this show.

  • there is still kinda a happy ending because in the end they are 1 big haooy family

  • 1 big happy dead family, most of the characters are dead, and the ones that aren't are unhappy.

  • no i think they seem pretty happy at the end if you watch thier reactions.

  • This is true, the ones who are alive are happy, but the ones who are dead, some of which are my favorites, are not happy.

  • This does have a lot of morals! the Idea that "Giants" are people too, The ends justify the means, revenge is wrong, becarefull what you wish for... (etc.)

    Beutifull song though

  • I never like Cinderell's Prince,

    I've always liked Rupunzel's Prince,

    He's more handsome too!

    <3

  • "i was raised to be charming, not sincere."

    good god what a line.

that and "you can talk to birds?...."

  • yea i know! its so funny!

  • I know I loved the "you can talk to birds?" line. It really lightened the moment and Red had such great delivery.

  • Here's an interesting bit of trivia: Kim Crosby (Cinderella) and Robert Westenberg (Cinderella's Prince/The Wolf) actually got married to each other in real life. They met in this production of Into The Woods. They have two children and live in Springfield, Missouri where Robert teaches college theatre classes at Drury University.

  • springfield.... lol

and i didnt no he was the wolf!!!!

  • Which part is the bit where the characters 'rebel' against the narrator?

  • wow.

umm. about an hour ago lol

    prolly in part...3? or 4

  • the second act is terribly depressing. the best songs in the show are in the second songs; the songs that really, truly, dig into you heart and mean something.

  • "you can talk to birds" was delivered perfectly! =D

  • "You can talk to birds?"

OMG I can't wait till the show so I can say that. I hope I can do it that well. :D

  • congrats on getting the part! i am auditioning in a few days. i really want the part really bad!

  • "You can talk to bird?"

Haha I laughed so hard at that part...

  • "I was raised to be charming , not sincere" xD lol

    "You can talk to birds?"priceless

  • "i was raised to be charming , not sincere"

if a guy ever said that to be he would wish he would have been steped on by a giant!!!

  • "you can talk to birds?" best one-liner of the whole show!!!

  • "you can talk to birds?"

litle red is my favorite charachter!

  • yea same here, next to Rupunzels Prince

  • The man who plays Cinderella's Prince (Robert Westenberg) and the woman who plays Cinderella (Kim Crosby) are actually married in real life.

  • Really??? Cool!! thats awsome!

  • "You can talk to birds?" xD priceless!!!!

  • Prince:" I was born to be charming not sensear." lol

  • I'm curious, is this on DVD? Because that would be awesome and amazing!

  • this is the DVD of it

  • "you can talk to birds""""" lol xd rolf

  • "You can talk to birds?" Lol! XD

  • i love little red "you can talk to birds?"

  • Anyone seeing connections to blinding the giant to Polyphemus and Odysseus?

  • "You can talk to birds?"

One of the best one-liners in the whole musical!

  • i wanna cry now that i see little red crying!!! waaa!!! T_T

  • "there remains a part of me that continually wants more"

    DX meanieee

    love him though

  • in my school we are doing this play and im Cinderellas Prince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'i was raised to be charming not sincere!!!!'

  • y wood there b pitch at granny's? lol i ♥ this play

  • haha "you can talk to birds"made my day lmao

  • You can talk to birds? My favorite line in the whole entire play xD

  • "You can talk to birds?" LOL We watched this is class and cracked up

  • "No one is Alone" is like the saddest song ever...I feel horrid for little Red...

  • I love this song it makes me cry. beautiful show. i love little red she is so funny. and cinderella and the baker!

  • You can talk to birds?... Monotone makes everything funny.

I was a little depressed that the Baker's wife died cause she was getting a lot of play.

  • i was raised to be charming, not sincere.

    =P

  • No one is alone made me cry! T_T

  • No, but I think it's fine. What happened to her was more than what she deserved...

  • "You can talk to birds?" I nearly wet myself!

  • totally the best line in the show.

  • omfg she is the same as me when i first saw Cinderella in act 1, i was like "she can talk to birds?" same monotone, same look of epic 'wtf' etc.

  • Lol that makes three of us. That definitely struck me as strange.

  • Poor Jack :'(

  • i luv Little Red lol. shes so funni.

  • Jeez, mothers have terrible luck during this play. It's really quite sad. Y'know, the Grimm brothers must have problems with mothers.

  • well Sondheim also put in his own little twist because his mother told him with her dying breath "the biggest mistake in my life was having you" so id have a little annimocity at her

  • No kidding? Jeez. Yeah, a little animosity probably is not unmerited.

  • It's so depressing when Cinderella and her prince talk and break up. Even though he's a jerkface.

  • i know that was sad to me too im noticing that the second act is a lil more serious but that only makes it better

  • I honestly liked the prince better as the wolf.

  • It was funny.

  • I know. And the 'I was brought up to be charming not sincere' is funny, but then if you think about it, the character was written so he had no real morals and basically chased skirt therefore he can't help being a jerkface :)

  • Why is there pitch at Grannies? XDDDD

  • wasnt pitch another word for like molassus?

  • pitch is tar and molassus is like sugar, or caramel

  • "I was raised to charming, not sincere." hahaha The princes are my favorite. I know of a production in which the princes were played by twins-it was hilarious!

  • I just met twin boys who have played the princes too! I wish I could have seen it...they have beautiful voices!

  • "You can talk to birds?" LOL!!!!!

  • "You can talk to birds?"

That is probaly one of the best lines in the show, along with many other funny ones.

    LOVE THIS SHOW! <3

  • I completely echo this.

  • The scene between Cinderella and the Prince is devastating and yet really empowering. Go Rob and Kim!

  • God No One Is Alone makes me cry and makes me think about me mo who pastaway last month when i am 19

  • This is another Little Red Funny Moment i love it "You Can Talk Tp Birds' I think she is the funniest Character

  • anyone else notice how every character except like 3 have no real names (baker's wife, cinderella's prince etc.) why is that?

  • Consider the fact that these are based off the real Brothers Grimm fairy tales, not Disney, and in the stories, the charecters don't have names. In fact they are just called prince or baker or baker's wife. The play itself just gave the appropriate title to each of the princes, other than that, their names didn't change. Cinderella's sisters have names. The narrator mentions their names close to the end, when they are trying to fit the shoe.

  • "You talk to birds?"....

  • she could not have done that more perfectly

    hilarious

  • I really really like this musical--I thought it would be okay, but not this good! This is the musical our school is doing next year!

  • I CAN'T STOP WATCHING!!!

    (I'm not yelling)

  • I keep on watching this to hear Danielle Ferland say: You can talk to Birds?

  • lol me too

  • i dont think so haha

  • ....

    you can talk to birds

    lmao

    i love her face there!!!

  • You can talk to birds?

    LOVE YOU RED

  • Even though the birds is funny, best line ever.. "I have been raised to be charming, not sincere."

  • "you can talk to birds?" lol

  • Okay, I sobbed during "No One Is Alone." I forget how powerful this musical can be.

  • I did to because that song made me think about my mom who died last month excpecially because i am only 19

  • lol i love riding hood(Danielle Ferland) she so funny along with the witch(Bernadette Peters)

  • my favorite part is 8:01-8:08. I love Cinderella(Kim Crosby)

  • So the Prince DID care about her, especially when he asks her if shes alright and finds out about the castle

  • "you can talk to birds?" AHAHAHA

  • i love this show too this is one of the better scenes from the show too

  • "you can talk to birds?" lol, I love it! "I was raised to be charming, not sincere," haha, those are my favorite qoutes from the show =D

  • Oh however can i thank you?!

    ...You can talk to birds?

    lmao i <3 that part

  • Riding Hood had great lines in this.

  • where does he say"maybe i wasnt meant to have children"?

  • During the Finale.

    LOL!! OMFG!!

  • I was raised to be charming not sincere

  • hehe.. You can talk to birds?

  • THAT WAS HILAROUS!

  • ahahahaha little red!

  • best line in play

  • How old is Danelle Ferland when she did this?

  • God knows.

  • Twenty, I believe.

  • She's going to be 37 this year on the 31st of january, so this must've been filmed in... 1991... so she

  • WAS 20 when this was filmed, because it WAS filmed in 1991! (Sorry, I pressed a wrong button and it posted)

  • i think 20

  • Did you hear it when she yelled, "I'm excited!" when they made the plan to kill the giant? HILLARIOUS!! ROFLMAO!!

  • moi too! Danielle is a REALLY good actress!

  • haha YES i love red's face when she says it

  • you can talk to birds LOL THAT WAS FUNNY THE WAY SHE SAID IT HAHAHAHA

  • "You can talk to birds?" L-O-L!
