  • he's a knock-out! very good looking!

  • SOOO BEAUTIFUL

  • I have chosen to breed my mare to lightnin n thunder, and he has storm cat in his line.....I see the grace and beauty with this line!!! I can't wait to see the foal I get!!!

  • A copy of the legend himself, Secretariat, his coat is about half a size to small and he has buldging muscles. just like his father. Now this is the son of a legend

  • RIP Overbrook Farm. Perhaps the greatest farm I have ever had the pleasure working on. Stormcat was under guard 24/7. I can still hear the guards over the radio saying "This is an hourly report, Stormcat is OK". It was always a treat to go and visit stormcat and say hello. A true legend, and lives a good life. :)

  • Handsome boy. Happy retirement, Stormy.

  • He has a thick neck but not quite as thick as Gone West...has the Secretariat face markings...Storm Cat had the longer back...

  • He's beautiful..nice bum ;P!

  • He sired over 110 foals out of 200 covers!

  • I luv this horse!!! He's the grandfather of my horse...Slim Cat :)

  • Always loving Storm Cat...he's awesome

  • i ride a filly by him and shes terrific

  • I have a filly out of ur stallion! This Cat Rules!

  • I love that little move he does at .20-23

  • Funny to think his first few years at stud they couldn't fill his book , he's more than proved himself. Used to work at Overbrook and he is lovely though overbreeding has reduced quality last few years. Enjoy your retirement big guy - you've earned it for sure!

  • Beautiful!

  • Breathtaking.

  • what a beautiful stallion

  • Magnificent looking animal, always loved him.

  • If I didn't know who he was I would have thought he was a quarter horse, that neck and those hindquarters are thick! Just like Secretariat, what a gorgeous animal!

  • If you compare his and Secretariat's conformation shots, Storm Cat looks like Sec in brown. Even their faces look alike - and that quarter horse comment has been made about Sec as well.

  • @sugarpuppy137

I have one of his (countless) grandsons and people who know horses say the same of his build. He had an injury at two so is living a nice life of semi-retirement, just turned 7. Some clips of him on my channel.

  • I have a grandson of his, too, I think at this point just about everyone does! Love this video, thanks for sharing.

  • if you think everyone has a grandson of his, you are on a different planet!

  • I also have a grandson of Storm Cat lol, he looks just like him, except hes only 15.1 hh and stopped racing when he was 2, hes Storm B' Comin

  • I have one of his granddaughters - he & his sons have been very popular sires- his progeny is probably over 100,000 by now!

  • yeah my friend owns a grandson of his.

    hes a magnificant 17hh 6 year old

  • He's so beautiful! I just purchased an 18 month old grandson of his. He's black just like Storm Cat and I can't wait to watch him fill out! Thanks for the video!

  • He sure is! Congrats on your purchase; I'm sure he's a beauty.

You're very welcome, and thank you for watching.

  • storm cat isnt black. did you miss the star & socks?

  • What a gorgeous horse !!!God is awesome!

  • Amen to that! Thanks for watching.

  • Anytime:)

  • God he's beautiful

  • Just finished the book Stud, and it was a really, really interesting read. Sorry the author's name fails me right now, but it's a book that even someone not remotely interested in the industry could read and be fascinated with. Pick it up if you can!

  • Wow, what a beautiful boy! I'd always heard the name, never saw the horse. He's very big and very lovely! What a sire he is....!

  • A horse made a 3 MILLION sire once!

  • How old is he in this? He looks fairly young!

  • That's a good question. I wish I knew. He looks awesome!

    Enjoy the Derby this weekend!

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • Oh, Ok. He loooks like he;s 10 or so. But hey, and old guy can have fun right?

    Thanks for this!

  • born in 1983, google pedigreequery for any horse you're interested, it takes you back thru grands, greats, great greats, nice to see

  • I love that site. I've had it bookmarked for a while.

  • Yeah, I agree.

I've learned a TON searching around that site.

    Have a great night.

  • Me too carly, I just stumbled onto it Googling different horses, isn't it fun to see going way back, Mumtaz (for Mumtaz Mahal, the "favorite wife" and one Shah Jahan loved, he built the Taj Mahal for her), love those names... Muumtaaazz, so lovely. Guess 4 legged Mumtaz was quite the girl w/speed, fm little I've read/learned. Love to see the grand, great, great and great greats grandads, MOW, Secretariat, Mr. Prospector, Nashua, Native Dancer (he's so pretty, did you see cf1970's video on him?

  • I love that. It was really good. You can tell he's a thoroughbred and loves to run. I used to work with one of his son's Night Cat. It was really fun. Now i work at the Fort Erie Racetrack. Please post more videos of him if you can.

  • Thank you for watching. Glad you liked it. Storm Cat is on my to-do list of videos for sure. You worked with his son Night Cat? Cool. It must be a blast for you to work at the racetrack. I'll definitely post more of SC when I can dig up some video(s). Take care.

  • waabanong come to woodbine. we have more money

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, beautiful, He's fantastic!

  • Yeah, he sure is wonderful to watch. Take care.

  • Hi cf1970, didn't you increase the time on this video? I love the last part when he takes off again over to the left and we get a fabulous view of him stretching that beautiful body and back kicking, he's SO full of himself ! sudslife excerpt described glint of chestnut in his coat fm his mama's side of the family.

  • Hi bon. The video is the same as it was when I first found it. Storm Cat is a wonderful big boy just like Big Red. I do hope that youtube eventually offers some way of editing and reposting video[s] and being able to retain the comments and ratings. I think I'm going to drop them a message and see if they are considering that option. That would be terrific. Take care.

  • I really love this... is there any more??

  • Yeah, it's great, isn't it? I wish I had more of him. Thanks for posting. Take care.

  • SECRETARIAT the Stud Broodmare Sire!

  • Ah yes, I quite agree. That's our boy! Take care.

  • Hi, how are you, can you get any more footage of Storm Cat.

  • Hi, still looking around. Hopefully more soon. Hope all is well with you. Take care.

  • I googled him and found studslife dot com. Go to it and click on Excerpt you'll enjoy it. Precious wonderful read, 1st paragraph is a delight. I e-mailed farm re. "S's Illustrious Grandson". Said he has lrg fan base but no visitors bec can't control tourists. enjoy !

  • Just read the story about SC. It was good fun and very informative about how tricky stud work really can be. Shame one can't visit him, but understandable. Thanks for the link, bon. God bless.

  • The book "Stud" is one of the best books on TB breeding you can have in your library.

  • Hi, I'm not a horse expert just a horse lover.Isn't he something, I love that last kick and twist on video. Excerpt fm Stud says hint of golden red in his coat he inherited fm Terlingua and that OTHER horse. Is book accessible, interesting reading to lay person? Surprised how interested I am in breeding, large heart factor, conformation. Found Horseman magazine on Ebay w/T. Leonard georgous pics of Secretariat w/diagrams on conformation article by man who did statue of S at KY Horse Pk.
