I gotta b honest here n say that i think DT r awesome!! I live in Wales and only got 2 c them live once in Newport, they dont play in Wales very often so i jumped at the chance 2 c them on my doorstep. They were amazing!! As a drummer myself i was gutted when Portnoy left them, i wouldnt have minded if he joined a decent band but ive listened 2 a few of Avenged Sevenfold songs and they aint got a patch on DT. It'll b interesting 2 c who the rest of the boys replace him with but they'll b no MP!!

They have their metal and progressive rock. But this metal is great. I love how the music makes you feel like it's on a fast journey. Those gutair riffs moving in a fast perpetual motion. This shows , they have taken metal in a progressive, interesting new direction. More bands should follow this. That thrash metal needs to listen to this. two thumbs up for DT.

Have you any idea how much time, effort & dedication it takes to get even simple songs perfect? The very simplest of DT's songs are far from simple - and to play them consistently as perfectly as they do, and for as long as they have, is far beyond the ability of most of the mainstream "talent" of today. They are as consummate professionals as you will find anywhere on the planet. They've never, not once, ever, "drifted off".

Oh, and people who UNDERSTAND their music invariably like it... ;-)

@papalazzzaru Time effort and dedication is an severe understatement. Portnoy makes sure every concert is different from the last one, and from future ones as well. Solos, jams etc are all varied in some way in every song. They rarely make mistakes, but when something goes wrong they fix it on the fucking fly. My favorite example is the "Pissed of Mike Portnoy" vid, you can hear LaBrie entered too early and the rest of them didn't go "Oh fuck, what do we do?!?" They just fixed it instantly.
