What length of ice axe do you use? I cant decide between a 68cm and a 75 cm. I am 6 feet 1 inch. I figured If the route was flat enough I could use poles as opposed to an ice axe so I wouldn't need the axe as a walking stick.
Is this a recommended approach? Thanks

on the side steps movement the ice axe must be at the side of the slope.......

your ice axe is in the wrong hand on the french technique over stepping.
