  • well the guy is wright lets not make fun of him

some people still used this camera

    and some film studios

  • if any one is looking to contribute in a big project, look up the venus project

  • As an experienced director / cinematographer with 6 full length features under my belt, I must say the finished product is in the eye of the director and post production. I mean my movies looks no different from major big budget films but I didn't pay nothing close to it. It's just knowing the tricks, angels , good acting, and very good post production. Best wishes guys!

  • @guguemichaels what cameras will get the job done? your a good director

  • @HEAVYWEIGHTFILMS I thank you for your kind word and to answer your question, it depends on what camera you can afford. Most people will tell you the REDONE/Alexia/Sony F3 or The Af100 but not everyone can afford those cameras. So for me is using what you have to create nice angels, shots and images. There are some low cost DSLR cameras that can produce nice images. At the end, it boils down to the shots, angels, images and color grading in post. Hope I answered your question. Again thanks!

  • uh I got a flip video camera for christmas will that work?

  • the XL2 is a rip for its price as a camera.. its piss poor in comparison to others that are half its price.

  • are flip cams any good?

  • fuck when was this tapes?

  • Drug store?????

  • so what type of camearas are used?

  • The problem with these videos is that there is too much talk that is not related to the topic.

This should be about how to make a film and not about the camera.

Also, it needs to be MUCH longer if you talk about filmmaking.

What you do is like telling someone how to be an actor in less than two minutes.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • "Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter"

  • we use tht camera 4 filmin

  • I think he's wasting time talking about equipment ....just start with what you can get and start filming. Sooner or later someone will be interested in what your doing and want in with their equipment and ideas. That's a great start.

  • Am I the only one who finds it ironic that he talks about low budget movies, but the cameras hes talking about are very expensive?

  • I've never seen anything good come out of 'expertvillage' about filmmaking.

  • Okay who's the asshole who's done done the subtitles?

  • wtf is this bullshit

'types of cameras'? all he talked about was HIS camera

  • now the best camera that regular people can afford is cannon 7d i heard they shot comercials music videos and movies with it

  • i make films on my flip mino and have gotten some good feedback

  • ATTENTION ALL HATERS COMMMENTING ON THIS VIDEO:

Youtube makes this video look bad, and this camera does not shoot in HD, why is everybody talking about HD camcorders. HD is overrated anyways.

And to make money off of camcorders you do need to spend more then your usual amount of money you would spend at wal-mart or Best Buy. I got a Canon Gl2 for $900, that is cheap for that Camcorder and it is really nice!

Please look up videos actually about making movies and stop bickering about EV.

  • hahaha...Crummy Sound, no white balance either!

  • What the hell, that didn't tell us everything we didn't know. Dont speak in riddled and give us a camcorder everyday people can actually AFFORD. My max budget is £350 not £30,000

  • @Jakemz51 350 will get you a decent consumer camcorder. :P and the XL2 is 2,000 not 20,000 or 30,000.

  • @tttwas Please use correct grammar when trying to correct someone else.

    Good day.

  • you know what pisses me off the most on these videos that camera is not a low budget camera hell you can get a camera way cheaper than that with fantastic picture and audio. he can shove his expensive ass camera up his ass and bend over and use himself as a tripod

  • @tttwas You probably shouldn't be correcting people when you can't even spell the word "difference".

  • @tttwas no ive used both, and i figured out if you adjust the brightness and contrast you can make it look more proffesional. obviously it won't look quite as good, but it's good enough for an indie film

  • @BillyandBarry not the kind of indie film that gets you into the film industry. you will find that cams like the xl2 and gl2 get you closer then any consumer. I suggest the HV40 if you still don't want to save your money a little bit longer.

  • you don't need an uber awesome camera, you just need to know how to edit to make it look proffesional

  • Are you teaching us how "not to make a movie?" .... this is some of the worst video and sound I have ever seen/heard.

  • @convexity123 he said video not sound. :P and that's decent video.

  • HV20 from canon would be good for the budget minded.

  • lol low budget

  • dont waste ppl time please.

  • Hello Expert Village

It's great that you are spreading your knowledge to the world but the first rule in film and programme making is GOOD SOUND! The poor quality of your sound renders all the hard work and information you are conveying useless, don't use front mic or built in mic it is bad and it is teaching people very very bad habbits.

  • What tha fuck is HD anyway? Is there a tecnical definition for that, or is it just a fancy name? Cause I haven´t found a definition or scale for quality, it reminds me of the old "hi def" label in sound equipments. Most things I see these days suposedly shot with a gizillion dollar camera kinda suck, so I ask myself is it really worth it? I, personally prefer film movies, even the cappier ones, they just seem more natural in every way.

  • high definition

  • @surferboy36O Lol go film something with a Sony Handycam then also film it with an HVX200 xD. you'll see the difference.

  • For me that´s the definition of quality, the camera or method (same goes fo sound) that records real life in the most similar manner, not how many chips or megapixels.

  • I have to use the smallest camera's possible because I like the hand held style, And cheap cameras do fine if you set up the lights, and stuff up properly, and if you have windows movie maker, or adobe you can Do ADR and foley

  • they're just pointing out the ideal cameras for an indie film. it is a kind of major part of making a movie, having a camera.

  • Lmao :P

  • a camera is not the most important thing in film making u could have a 70 dollar camaera and make a good movie. lighting and etc make up a movie not the camera

  • $70 is a little far fetched.....

  • how is it far fetched? Have you never seen a camera with that price tag. ACtually they sell pur HD camcorders at he local walmart for $70.00

  • Its completely far fetched....A $70 camera is not going to allow you to change frame rate, shutter speeds, lenses, focus, or filters...on top of that it definitely won't have a good microphone or an in-line jack to plug in an external mic...and what is it going to record on?? A 16gb flash card can cost $50( Almost as much as this so called camera)... .Your right lighting and sound does make up a movie but if you record on something cheap and shitty thats EXACTLY how its going to look

  • Actually wrong again my friend bought a canon xl2 for only $80.00 basicly brand new only been used once. my other friend found a canon xl1 in japan for only $100.00 dollars so its not impossible to find a good camera! cheap

  • LMAO...A Canon Xl2 for 80?? and a XL1 for 100??? Sure.....your friend must have gotten it on sale for 98% off!....your a liar 2...you go from saying you can get it from Walmart to saying you need to go to Japan...and first you say $70 then you say $100...wtf man...Please shut up since its obvious you don't know what your talking about

  • I'd love to see a $70.00 camera than can record in true HD.

  • @NewLayerMedia would you cause Flip Video ultra shoots true HD 1080p

  • @BulldogManiaOfficial don't go with flip video cams :P please, please, please! they are horribly compressed and just are not as high quality as a camcorder you could buy for another 100 to 200 dollars. (like the sony webbie, 140-170$ shoots in 720p and 1080i) You have to pay a whole lot more to get "true" HD cam.

Try spending 100,000 to achieve that.

  • @NewLayerMedia I'd love to see a $9000 cam to record in "True" HD.

  • Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My Dog! Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My Dog! Oh My God! The Pain... The Pain... The Pain... (dolly back fade to black...) [setting back cinema 2000 years]

  • this guys right u sorry fucks have to invest 300 is cheap as hell for a camera costs money to make money

  • poor him with a $2000 camera, mines about $150, thats all most people can afford

  • Exactly, got mine from a store the went O.O.B.for about 450. and it took a lot to decide to get that! Seems fine enough, and he doesn't mention the fact that the advantage to a tiny cheapass camera is you can film nearly anywhere and not get hassled about permits, permission, and people in your backgroung going'hey look whats going on there?Cut-take 2!

  • i hadnt even thought about that stuf

but your right ive been everywhere with my cams easily noone ever said anything unless of course it was private property but then i ask first, if i was "survivor man" i d just carry small cams only, i have a sharp vdl, samsung 353, & jvc gr250 all used off ebay for about $75 each, i can do alot with those -except low light - the lenses are too small, dv tapes r $2 each on ebay! id kill to have a camera like he has, but then id make sure to use it wisely,

  • That's funny....I was cast as a background artist (extra) in a TNT movie. Worked long hours, in lots of scenes (most were cut) so, in the last scene I was given lines and a bunch of geese overhead came by and fucked it up for me. That was wrap for that day. Now, I think I want to start a film myself too. Thanks

  • You gave me an idea for my next youtuber. I have some outtakes of my actress auditions-one in particular, where a train rolls by, then 2 helicopters, all within my 2 frickin minute shot. Probably would be bigs laughs now. Wasn't that funny then...

  • the canon xl2 costs 5000

  • @iseecheese So why is he "poor"?

  • @iseecheese most people? If you're getting into making films you need to understand that a camera is just a necessary expense.

  • @iseecheese 150$ lol, what are you 12?

  • This guy hasn't got a fucking clue !

  • Correctly said. That's why he's shooting kids show/weddings and put holden ring to play BIG MR. H-WOOD. priceless

  • but the XL2 is still a pretty good camera.

  • DV TAPE!!!!!!!!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

    someone kill me.

  • Gotta love "not so expert" village. I'm definitely no expert and am trying to learn more about movie making, but I can tell you this... it's hard to take anyone seriously about making movies that doesn't bother to do a basic white balance. My cheep SD camera does a better auto-WB than that shot.

  • god thats an expensive camera, forget it.

    im gonna use somthing cheaper.

a MX20 from samsung sounds reasonable.

  • with an MX20 you can only do a wedding video. Forget about the camcorders, they don't have 3-CCD, 24p etc that are necessary to make a movie.

  • 3-CCD and 24p isn't NECESSARY to make a movie. They're just optional

  • @michaelfilmmaker True...what camera did u use since the picture quality sucks too.

  • yea all that and he didnt even put a price on it lol.ARGGGGGGGGGGGG!

  • i only used dvr688 camcorder can make movie such as [rec]!!!

  • lmao bro theres nothing wrong with an hd camera if anything its better than that canon xl2, plus you say its a negative because you have to have storage for your computer...well no shit!! lol you end up paying for storage with a tape camera vs a computer with a big harddrive.

  • No offence to you Hd you will soon see that any camera going to be able to upscale to hd quality and in the end it going to be the next HD-TV technology coming also dvd recorders and players everyone forgot that it was a backward move good lines shadoiw control for the tv but if the tv can do that with any picture sorce you guys going to be sorry.

  • dude those cameras are 3,000-6,000 dollers

  • this guy digs gold!

everyone if you want to make a good no budget film, dont listen to this guy, cuz you're wasting your time while you should be out there making your film.

  • can you give me some more information about the camera, the one u r using Canon XL-2 is kinda expensive( $2890.00). can you tell me where i can find the cheaper one. thanks

  • ebay

  • still expensive on ebay.

  • wow thanks you just told me what a camera looks like and what a tape was...

  • what good is having that many video if nobody watches them?

    good job though
