alright asus! i just got an asus desktop w/ an nvidia 1024 mb vid card(dont remember the name of it at the moment), 8 gigs of ram, i7 processor, 650 watt rocketfish pwr supply, klipsch 7.1 speakers, terrabyte hard drive. i had to put in the card and pwr supply myself but needless to say it runs gmod really well. and thats great cos gmod is my all time fav. so far i can run any game on the market on its highest settings...pc gaming is the only way to game for me right now, mainly cos of gmod

nothing. just plug in external hdd with the game on it and launch. runs better in dx7 mode than in dx9, and set all graphics to low

Thanks, I'll try this on my 900hd. Oh and get eeectl, its a program that allows you to control fan speed, processor power and screen brightness. in fact the intel celeron m is limited to 630MHz but you can clock it to its full 900MHz clock speed and you keep the fan on high speed allowing the processor to keep cool and running sweet.

i already got eeectl, and you're wrong, my celeron is at 900mhz by default and goes back to 800 or 700 when running on battery. using eeectl, i can reach nice 1100mhz

I had GMod for my laptop, but whenever i played it i suffered graphic diffculties, prop diffculties and even if i set an explosion the game will end and reset my computer. during this time my computer was suffering from some problems which i got help from a technician. I am still curious if GMod was the problem because it was on a laptop or either something else was wrong. If there is anyone out there who has GMod on their laptop. If you can tell me if you had the same problem.

its not overclocked. you can run the game in dx7 mode by adding "-dxlevel 70" to the launch parameters of the game

I Tryed to install garrys mod on my Advent netbook, but when i play, it just says: Couldnt reed memory card, hl2 ERROR and alot of numbers !! so it doesnt work on mine :( ! Here is the Advents: 1.60 ghz 1 gig ram and 160 gig memory. Pl0x, why it dont work!

the high-def video is difficult, the photos should work fine.

i tried it once to play youtube HD videos, but it was with my beta build 7000 of windows 7 and thus not very stable, and as soon as i switched my flash player to full-screen, the whole system froze, i could only restart and afterwards i had to repair my installation of windows 7 =( so not really working, i gonna try it with xp

the photos are fine, my father has a 10mega-pixel camera and i always use the eee pc to do slide-shows, working fine. when i use my favourite program, irfan view, it loads quite long, but with google picasa it is very fast.

wind is not better... it has more hdd space, but its a hdd and no sdd, so much slower... in addition, it uses intel atom 1.6ghz processor, which is much slower than the intel celeron 900mhz processor (although the core freqzuency is higher) due to its old architecture. the graphics is about the same, so i would choose the asus for gaming and the wind perhaps for storage/if i need a lot of music/movies around with me...

as fast as the eee pc's sdd can be, what can you do with 20gb? Plus the wind and eee pc both use the intel atom processor (1g RAM which can be upgraded to 2G). And they both use a UMA graphics card.

THIS asus doesnt use the atom processor. there are lots of eee pcs out there, 700, 701, 900, 901, 9004, 1000, 1000h, 1000hd, ... and they are all different.

and 20gb are enough, windows will use around 700mb, install a few programs until you are at 1gb, then you have 19gb left for games, music, pictures... i watch my movies from the external hdd, put only the music i like most (around 3gb) on it and have left 16gb for games, quite a lot for the games that run on it
