SEC speed is a misnomer...the truth is, nationally recruiting schools like Michigan, tOSU, Penn St., Nebraska, all recruit the south and west coast as much as they do the midwest. Now, for the last 10 years, the SEC has been the better overall conference, BUT these things tend to be cyclical. I would also argue, even though they may be better, the difference between the top teams in the top conferences isn't that much.
