When I was younger, I had a nightmare in which I heard evil laughter. When I woke up the laughter continued for minutes afterwards. Ever since then, I've lived every day in my imagination (though I can still separate it from reality). I assure you, it's a positive aspect of my life. That being said, I'm coincidentally also adopted.
My situation is mild schizophrenia, but that doesn't mean that's not what Chocky might have been meant to be in this show. A young boy's struggle with schizophrenia.
God! This brings back so many memories. I remember Nickelodeon played this sometimes on weekends when they had Special Delivery. Those were such fun times. THNX for posting.
My gosh! I only vagely remember bits of this show but I forgot how eerie it was. Kid's TV doesn't come anywhere near close to this stuff. Did I notice Kay Harker from 'Box of Delights' in there?
Thank you. I remember being gripped to it as a child, and hadn't seen it since until now. And I think I have now appreciated it's greatness on two completely different levels. Ace!
Wow, 8 full minutes before anything exciting happens - you don't get that anymore, certainly not in kids shows! Yeah, that theme sounds a lot like something of Eno's 'Music For Films'. John Wyndham is one of my favourite authors and the mum is gorgeous!
I totally agree re: the theme music - whoever thought starting a theme for a kids' show with a bloodcurdling scream was an insane genius IMHO XD It wouldn't be allowed these days, would it... :/

If Chocky had actually been a bit more patient we'd have the cosmic energy by now.

Kids today would not have the attention span for this, too cerebal and not enough MTV editing. Kids are dumbed down badly today!!
is it me or this quite chilling? i remember this as a very young kid. Well made and intelligent!

@chopperbana Absolutely mate, I'm seeing this for the first time and I'm absolutely gobsmacked. This must have been amazing to watch as a kid.

@chopperbana I completely and totally agree with you. Ironically it all started with video games funnily enough to one degree :(
