The Sukhoi must be the most rakishly best looking fighter plane in service today. But I dislike how far back the forward Landing Gear is located, it makes the machine ungainly, nose-heavy and unstable when taxying. I also like the elegant raised Bow of the Ship.

su-33 make carrier landing look very easy. no afterburer to do go arround, no landing officer to guide it to land. i guess F-18 cannot land on russian carrier but su-33 can land on any american carrier without assistance from landing officer. thanks to powerfull engine and low stall speed

U.S. Carrier ops are still a lot more efficient than Russian Carrier ops although they have a better naval aircraft. However, the F-35 promises to be a great carrier aircraft as it has great STOVL capability.

Thats true and why it is? Because Russian carier was designed to provide air defense cover for the fleet ships while the american ones were designed mainly for support of invading army. Practical difference between this is in the number of aircrafts carried and possible parallel maintenance service of onboard aircrafts. Kuznetsov have far less onboard aircrafts than Nimitz class or Enterprise. Its about world politics. Russia wants only to defend itself while USA wants enforce its politics!

This is by no means to support a large landing operation that US Navy is capable of to project its force on global scale. Now thats what i call a differrence.... a very much defensive doctrine compared to offensive one.

Third, what Russia do in the southern parts are defending itself? Well, the US defends it self in Iraq and Afghanistan so why can´t Russia defend itself in Georgia and other parts down south?

What Russia do in southern parts like Georgia is truly defending its citizens (South Ossethians with Russian passports) compared to America in Iraq where not a single American was attacked by Hussein. Try to read more about politics and if possibly not from the mainstream media...

@Flankymanga eee err not really. If the USSR had a bigger budget it would've built carriers like the Nimitz class. Unfortunately by the time they were in the carrier race the US was way ahead. Thus pirority was focused on protecting the immediate fleet and important bases. Both the USSR and the USA enforced their politics during the Cold War era, but as history shows enforcing one's politics on another is costly and a really true waste of resources unless you're trying to help/protect.

Because they are NAVY pilots and this heavy suit can protect them for several hours from cold water in case of ejection. And the orange color is more contrasting with blue/grey water then green or grey so it´s better chance to find them :-)

Fact: When an Aircraft Carrier uses a Sky jump; in order for the aircraft to effectivly get access into the air it takes up too much deck space. And what kind of G's does the Pilot take? Great Brittan's Oceanic has a Sky Jump too, but will never meet the same Firepower as a Nimitz class or the new Ford class. Still very amazing Video!! glad to see another country's might ^.^
