Hello. I am from Poland, I am not able to buy from Poland, do with scanner the copy pdf, or snapshot ( with phone jpg ), and send the email jozio611@wp.pl. I am greeting Józef
I heard him play a couple of times as well and he always played with energy! Once was atthe big Ruffatti (sp?) at Coral Ridge where Diane Bish was Organist for years. It was funny. He is a small man, and once during the concert, he reached cross-armed to pull a stop or two and almost lost his balance. But he kept going!
I assume that that pedal stop that you pulled out was a bombarde. You did a nice job. Not many people can pull off a bombarde without it being too overbearing.
Do you take requests? If so, do you have the Bach/Fox arrangement of 'Now Thank We All Our God' under your fingers/feet? How about the Bach Gigue Fugue? I hope I haven't started something 8-)
Greetings! I was a long time member at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They have a 1968(?)Schlicker 3 manual 57 rank organ designed by the specifications of Dr. Paul Manz, currently Cantor Emeritus. If you're ever in the area you should visit. The worship service there would blow you away. Not to be gauche, you're not only very talented but you're very handsome!
Srry it's been awhile. Had quite a holiday's. Just got this song from my organ teacher a couple weeks ago, can't wait to get it mastered (i can't believe how fast it usually takes me to master things!)
This is hymn-playing at its best! Although my skills are far less than exhibited here, in my days as a substitute church organist, I could not resist accelerating the tempo and perhaps increasing the volume too on joyful hymns such as this.
You should be able to get it at any serious music store. Or I found it at sheetmusic plus dot com (search for Paul Manz) At one time, I had everything that Paul Manz had published. That was twenty something years ago though. There is a sound file on the link above to hear some other excerpt.
I personally liked it being played fast. The organist at my church played it as a postlude a few weeks ago, and she played it much slower. However I liked how 2 different musicians were able to take the same piece, and make it sound quite different.
Yeah, I know. I get carried away with this one. Actually I tried to slow myself down for this recording. I play so that the melody would be at the tempo that I would lead congregational singing.
'Cwm Rhondda', by John Hughes (1873-1932), of Dowlais, Glamorganshire. A pit boy in the local coal mine, who became precentor at Salem chapel, Llanilltud Faerdref; composed hymn tunes and anthems. 'Cwm Rhondda' is his most popular tune; first performed at the Baptist Singing Festival, Pontypridd, during the Welsh Religious Revival, 1905. It is described as the unofficial national anthem of Wales set to the words of William Williams of Pantycelyn, 'Guide me O Thou great Jehovah'
It was installed in 1996 by Schlicker. We suffered a fire in 1994 that destroyed a 1958 Moeller. Some of the pipes in the new instrument were salvaged from the old one.

Solid work. Even tho it's brisk, I think it's about the perfect tempo for a postlude.

A beautiful organ piece! Perfectly played! I think that Paul Manz improved this chorale.
