  • Hello. I am from Poland, I am not able to buy from Poland, do with scanner the copy pdf, or snapshot ( with phone jpg ), and send the email jozio611@wp.pl. I am greeting Józef

  • He was such a funny and sweet man!

  • Heard Manz play this a couple of times and he played it at this tempo! No kidding!

  • @Pdwacky

I heard him play a couple of times as well and he always played with energy! Once was atthe big Ruffatti (sp?) at Coral Ridge where Diane Bish was Organist for years. It was funny. He is a small man, and once during the concert, he reached cross-armed to pull a stop or two and almost lost his balance. But he kept going!

  • I assume that that pedal stop that you pulled out was a bombarde. You did a nice job. Not many people can pull off a bombarde without it being too overbearing.

  • @TheOscillatingFan

Had to watch the vid again to see what I did LOL It apears to be the 16" posaune that I pulled near the end. It does have a biy of bite to it. :)

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Solid work. Even tho it's brisk, I think it's about the perfect tempo for a postlude.

  • A beautiful organ piece! Perfectly played! I think that Paul Manz improved this chorale.

  • hahah, sorry abt the singing part..but as a performance, yes, it is SOLID!!

how long did u took to learn and play this hymn? :))

  • I learned it many years ago, So quite frankly, I don't remember how long it took. It is a fun piece to play.

  • TOO FAST i mean..

  • Oh well. Nobody was singing. But thanks for the comments.

  • WONDERFUL !!!! solid pedal work...

    WELL DONE And EXCELLENT!!

my only complain is that the tempo is too far for pple to really sing in church...slightly slower will be good...nonetheless the harmony is SOLID!!!

    BRAVO!!

  • FROM COSTA RICA: Perfect!! This is by far my favorite!!!

  • Love the Tempo

  • very neat!...this was played at my wedding!

  • A brisk tempo for a hymn, but it is glorious music played here with skill on a nice instument. Like those registrations too.

  • Do you take requests? If so, do you have the Bach/Fox arrangement of 'Now Thank We All Our God' under your fingers/feet? How about the Bach Gigue Fugue? I hope I haven't started something 8-)

  • Greetings! I was a long time member at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They have a 1968(?)Schlicker 3 manual 57 rank organ designed by the specifications of Dr. Paul Manz, currently Cantor Emeritus. If you're ever in the area you should visit. The worship service there would blow you away. Not to be gauche, you're not only very talented but you're very handsome!

  • I really love your playing! Fresh and vital!

  • Hi Phil

Srry it's been awhile. Had quite a holiday's. Just got this song from my organ teacher a couple weeks ago, can't wait to get it mastered (i can't believe how fast it usually takes me to master things!)

    Ryan

  • Hi, could you scan me this musical score?

    Thank you.

    Best wishes,

    TAN GUODONG

    Wesley Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur,

    Malaysia

  • This arrangement is by Paul O. Manz. Morning Star Publishing House.

  • Yes, I know is Morning Star Publishing. Apparently I can't get from Malaysia.

  • VERY VERY VERY FANTASTIC !!!!!!!

  • i just borrowed this piece from my friend, i LOVE to play it. the pedal part is so much fun to play as well! good job man

  • once you get it down - you can just tap dance it :)

  • haha, it's so true, after a few runs through it's really not hard to do, it almost feels natural.

  • This is hymn-playing at its best! Although my skills are far less than exhibited here, in my days as a substitute church organist, I could not resist accelerating the tempo and perhaps increasing the volume too on joyful hymns such as this.

  • You're a REAL organist Dave! Good man!!

  • Well done!

All the BEST people play by memory, BTW.

And yes it IS fast----and yes I DO like it that way!

    (since everyone asked my opinon....)

    Martin

  • WOW that is great. Could I now where I can get the arrangement for this piece ... beautifully played

  • You should be able to get it at any serious music store. Or I found it at sheetmusic plus dot com (search for Paul Manz) At one time, I had everything that Paul Manz had published. That was twenty something years ago though. There is a sound file on the link above to hear some other excerpt.

  • I personally liked it being played fast. The organist at my church played it as a postlude a few weeks ago, and she played it much slower. However I liked how 2 different musicians were able to take the same piece, and make it sound quite different.

  • A bit fast.

  • Yeah, I know. I get carried away with this one. Actually I tried to slow myself down for this recording. I play so that the melody would be at the tempo that I would lead congregational singing.

  • Sir, you played it just fine....

  • Very nice!

I really like your playing. Could you send me a message and tell me a little about the instrument you're playing?

  • Awesome - I have to get that arrangement ?

  • wow...that was great

  • Have you ever played any of Roy Brunner's hymn arrangements?

  • I don't believe so.

  • Fine performance!

  • Beautifully performed. That's one of my favorite arrangements. I hope to hear more of your videos soon.

  • I need to do some more recording again soon before I get too deep into Easter music. Seems like Christmas was just yesterday!

  • 'Cwm Rhondda', by John Hughes (1873-1932), of Dowlais, Glamorganshire. A pit boy in the local coal mine, who became precentor at Salem chapel, Llanilltud Faerdref; composed hymn tunes and anthems. 'Cwm Rhondda' is his most popular tune; first performed at the Baptist Singing Festival, Pontypridd, during the Welsh Religious Revival, 1905. It is described as the unofficial national anthem of Wales set to the words of William Williams of Pantycelyn, 'Guide me O Thou great Jehovah'

  • Thank you for the history lesson. We sing those words as well as "God Grace and God of Glory".

  • Beautifully played! Great memory!

  • And that comes from a guy who can REALLY play!!! check out his video's, they're wonderful!

  • Very nice arrangement!

  • wow thats clever to play with your hands and feet like that. Nice arrangement.

  • Awesome! Thanks for keeping the old traditions alive.

  • And what location is the organ?

  • Fort Wayne IN

  • What arrangement is that?

  • It was arranged by Paul Manz

  • very nice. more please.

  • Very nice! Who is the maker of the organ?

  • It was installed in 1996 by Schlicker. We suffered a fire in 1994 that destroyed a 1958 Moeller. Some of the pipes in the new instrument were salvaged from the old one.
