Hey everyone, I've received TONS of emails asking if I have other footage from the production and I do not. I wish I do but remember, this was the LAST performance EVER and I needed to enjoy it, not sit behind a camera.
I miss this show so much. I flew all the way from Michigan, USA to London just to see it's last performance.
Abbie Osmon was utterly beautiful in this video. Though she and LMK have different interpretations of the part, both make equally stunning Galadriels to me. :D
I've seen this in London and it was the best I've ever seen! The London Cast are once again so much better than the Toronto ones. Much stronger singers in my humble opinion.
The 4 leading actors (James Loye as Frodo, Peter Howe as Sam, Owen Sharpe as Pippin, Michael Therriault as Gollum) all played their roles in both Toronto AND London.
Rest of the cast (Galadriel, Legolas, etc) were different in London and indeed better than their Toronto counterparts.
Didn't know that! I only saw some of those who were only playing in Toronto (remember Galadriel singing to recovering Frodo) and that's what I meant... My comment was a bit too generalised I suppose ;)
I've seen several other versions of "Lothlorien," but this is utterly transcendent. Maybe it's the inspiration of the occasion. Whatever happened, it's incredible!
Lucky, I live in the Netherlands too, but when I heard of the musical I was too late it was already out of london :( And I really don't wanna go to Germany :S
Ik vond het ook jammer dat ik haar niet had in die show. diekans loop je altijd. Maar die andere Abbie Osmon, was ook heel goed. Dus als je echt een LOTr fan bent, zou ik er alsnog naartoe gaan ;)
I want to go to the show in Germany (I´m from Germany and I was to late for london), but I heard that there will not be a show, because it`s to expensive :(
Its first run was in Toronto, Canada. I saw it. IMO not worth the price of the ticket, nor the time it took to watch. There is a reason it only played to 700,000 before closing. Don't worry about missing it. The set broke down twice in the show I watched, too.
incase u arnt aware the london production was made shorter and re written and made to be amazing and more beautfuil the toronto cast sucked the london cast got the best of the toronto cast then the best of London
3 acts yes but the break between act 2 and 3 was only 2 mins.. the orks wondered the theatre making sure people didnt leave their seats while they reset the stage.. I MISS THIS SHOW SO MUCH :(
....I've seen a fair few musicals & I was lucky enough to see this live...it was the most spectacular staging I have ever seen!!! This song is simply amazing.. Wish it was still at the Theatre Royal
see thats a review the show should have gotten, critics are there to find the flaws and make them worse than they sound but the AUDIENCE who is the ones coming back they just want to be entertained like in the opening night video they asked the AUDIENCE what they thought not the stuffy british critics who based the 23 YEAR OLD LES MISERABLES WHEN IT FIRST OPENED 2 (So i say suck on that critics)
No offence or anything, but this really doesn't do it justice. I was there on the last night as well. And actually, it doesn't sound much like what it was like on the night. This was the best show in the world, nothing will ever beat it. I Miss it! Wish it could have stayed in london...but it's gone to Germany...
It's going to be near where I live ... or so I thought. But they lost their investor or something so maybe it won't open at all. I have my hopes up, though ...
Fiyero 06, I could not agree more. She didn't bring to the role what LMK brought vocally. Personally, I don't understand why they re-cast the show so freaking quickly. What is the deal there? N E ways, cool to see the last Lothlorien in london.
Thelilfool you are a saint for recording this thanks so much :) Im still so annoyed I didnt go to the final show, mascara would have ended up all over my face though :P My biggest regret was not giving them all a standing ovation on the last performance I attended on June 26th :( I hope they revive it one day, god knows Olivers been brought back enough times...
why this show had to close for Oliver is beyond me. It was just beginning to take on a life of its own in the West End and now, because of Webber and his greediness it is gone.
thank you so much for recording it! Braught a tear to my eye! I miss the show so much, saw it 6 times and it was just the best show ever!! Wish it could have gone on!
thanks :) I got kinda emotional at the end of the show so I feel ya.
im jealous, I wish that I had seen the show 6 times! this was my first and only time. i flew all the way from Michigan, U.S. to see the final performance. it was totally worth it!
I love this show!!! by the time I'd seen it a 3rd time, i was dancing along to "Cat & the Moon" the person sitting next to me was like......errrrrrr, lotr freak lmao!!!
this is depressing. i wanted to this show so bad. my tech director flew to england by himself just to see it. i listened to the soundtrack obsessively. gahh! i hate america for not having large enough theatres to house it.
We have theatres large enough, no producers would want to risk the money to do it. If it couldn't find an audience it wouldn't sell tickets. The Gershwin and Hilton Theatres are large enough.. Wicked isn't leaving the Gershwin anytime soon.
Wicked will never, ever leave. I think LoTR would do the best in America. There's such a fanbase here for the books/movies that people would just get excited about it really easy, especially if they had the right cast, plot/songs and design team (basically London copy and pasted here)
i was there on the final night and it was the first time i saw it, i was on my own and thought i can not just not see it so went up to london on own and i was blown away, one of the best things i have ever seen on stage. the cast were amazing! im going travelling in nov and hopefully i will be in oz when it is on there! words cant even describe this show!
i really want to see it again i had so much fun. Really wanted to dance along esp to the cat and the moon
The only thing I have to say is, unfortunately, when LMK left it crushed me! Abbie Osmon seems nice here but Laura is AMAZING. I can't believe she wasn't there for the final performance! She WAS LotR the Musical :(
I met Abbie Osmon on the Thursday Matinee before it closed. Personally I thought she was amazing (although LMK = musical goddess). But it was interesting to hear Abbie say that she was a huge fan of LMK, and was always worried she wouldn't live up to her performance.
I did, I waited for autographs after the Thursday Matinee. Weren't the cast lovely? I was the girl with black hair, and glasses, who got cake from James Byng (Frodo).
oh yeah! i know who you are! i was waiting with you - there were 3 of us kinda stood together when you got the cake (lucky :) ) and we got our programmes signed. I was the slightly taller one with the brown hair and black starry top. we were talking to the cast together... they kept nickin my pen to sign everyones stuff...
after you left i waited a bit longer and i got photos with 3 of the hobbits! (james/frodo, peter/sam and stuart/pippin). i was so happy! :)
It's not the same show. The show you've seen in Toronto is just about 70% different than this one. This is musical where the other was more of a stage experience. In fact, this song wasn't even in the one you saw
I saw this also on the final night as well, I think everyone in the audience had seen it more than once, I had too, something of a farwell to something wonderful...
this was my first time seeing it. i would pay anything to see it again. it is the best musical I have ever seen. i will probably fly to australia just to see it again lol
I got to see Laura Michelle when I saw this, but have been looking for clips on here of Abbie since she took over the role. And she's incredible! So sad to see it close. It's a beautiful show.
im so upset i couldnt make the last show but did make one 4 days before it must have been terrible for the actors how did they not cry during it?! knowing that was the last time they wud ever be upon that beautiful stage :(
OMG!!! thanx so much 4 this!! i saw this a month be4 it closed... as i tried 2 get tickets to the final show, but i was seeing a different show, same day, But it was still soo good!!!
I was down in the stalls and this was the best bit of the best performance ever, it was spine chilling when that applause just went on and on!! Thank you for sneaking in a camera!! LOL, you cant see anything but its good to hear it again.
have you got a longer one where the applause went on? That was legend.
Thank you so much, it really brings the memories back. I was in row B at the side, which was a great place to be for the last night! It was an amazing night, it felt like an honour to be there, and the speeches at the end were exactly what they needed to be. Let's never forget this wonderful show!!!
i love you so much!!!! thankyou for putting this up it gives me goosebumps to think of it again the applause after lothlorien made abbie osmon look a bit bewildered - did u see her just standing there beaming waiting for it to end? and im gonna miss it so much, made me feel relli sad to think it has finished :( great las t show tho :)
i was in the front row and when the applause kept comin i nearly stood up,... god what a special moment.. will not forget for many many years .... im so glad i was there :(:(:(:(:(:(:( any more clips please of the last show? ? ? ? ? ?
sorry but i dont :( i wish i had taken more but this was my first and only time seeing the show so i didnt want to be stuck behind a camera. BUT i do have the closing speeches. youtube is taking forever loading it so hopefully it'll be up soon
i wish that i did! lol i stopped the camera a few seconds after the song ended and i wish that i didnt. the applause was amazing. it was the best feeling in the world. we LOTR fans gotta give some love to the cast, ya know?
#2. you are not allowed to film inside of the theatre. they will take your camera away if they see it so i had to hide it. this video wasnt for quality. it's for fans to just have a hint of what the last performance of "Lothlorien" sounded and looked like.
i was there, sixth row orchestra. amazing performance..the audience did NOT stop applauding when the song was over. The cast looked slightly awkward for a while waiting for the applause to die down.
Cor, I was just sitting a few rows away from you I think!
Amazing show, I went with my girlfriend (In a purple goth-loli dress) and was just stunned - she has complained ever since that she could never sing the Galadrial parts. She's only an alto and apparently this singer is a full soprano 2 (Whatever that means).
I adored that show, really loved every second and it's so sad there's no DVD of the show~
I'd seen the show quite a few times before, but the audience that night was the best audience I'd been a part of! Totally buzzing, clapping and wooping after every song. Just a brilliant atmosphere for the cast and crew after working so hard on it for so long!
(haha, and the clapping went on for AGES after Lothlorien!)
no, sorry i do not have more. it was so hard getting this song alone. BUT i do have the closing speeches. i will try to put it up as soon as I get to Italy on Thursday.
Hey everyone, I've received TONS of emails asking if I have other footage from the production and I do not. I wish I do but remember, this was the LAST performance EVER and I needed to enjoy it, not sit behind a camera.

#1. that was mean and unnecessary
#2. you are not allowed to film inside of the theatre. they will take your camera away if they see it so i had to hide it. this video wasnt for quality. it's for fans to just have a hint of what the last performance of "Lothlorien" sounded and looked like.

We're glad you did.

Amazing i saw this musical with Abbie and though she is not as good as LMK she still was amazing!
I CANNOT BELIEVE ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER IS KICKING THEM OUT!

i was there, sixth row orchestra. amazing performance..the audience did NOT stop applauding when the song was over.

I adored that show, really loved every second and it's so sad there's no DVD of the show~
Just an amazing show.

It was just such a great night that night.
Thanks for posting!
