Like what hollywood does when they blast one specific movie over and over but they keep the spotlight out for other movies. It has been done and it will continue to happen for ever. For Example: A subcriber/fan/regular dude who watched your vids before these give-aways and liked/commented/favourited your vid before because he liked your vids because they were great. NOT for anything in return so basically when you have these give-aways maybe 3 people out of 50000 actually win. And only watch these vid for prizes not because they like you.

i completely agree and the main reason for that is because small beans made glint2 a few weeks ago and he had spent ages on it and it had beautifully editing and gameplay. he got top favourited spot for 2 days until whiteboy did another give away vid and put it under animals and pets category and it got top favourited and that must of been very disheartening for small beans as he put a load of effort into it.

I believe that giveaways are ok to a certain point, if the routines is getting the top favorited spot everyday and blocking out other channels then it is a problem. New channels won't have the money to do giveaways, kind of like putting a wallmart in and smothering small businesses

I suppose it sucks for new youtubers just starting videos because people like xJawz and Whiteboy had already "made it" when they started giving stuff away. It could be argued that by giving stuff away it will keep them on top and make it much harder for people to compete for views and genuine most favourites.

They definitely have an advantage over giving other channels that may not be able to give away free stuff, however those channels you mentioned that do give away gifts have produced lots of great content and videos, so they deserve the recognition. New commentators need to produce good content first before getting the opportunity to provide free gifts to their fans.
The thing is H3CZ would they still do it if there was a rule which made it so they wouldn't be applicable for the top views/favorites etc. Also they didn't get any money from that video through their partnership. I'm pretty sure if these rules came into affect you would see them stop these giveaways pretty quickly. I couldn't care less about them being at the most viewed/favorites but the idea behind why they're both doing it disgusts me.

I believe that giveaways are ok to a certain point, if the routines is getting the top favorited spot everyday and blocking out other channels then it is a problem. New channels won't have the money to do giveaways, kind of like putting a wallmart in and smothering small businesses

I get the whole protecting the comunity thing were you should give the chance to others to come up and well be succesful in theyre videos. But most of the people that do end up in these contests are constant viewers of such channels. honestly it might be considered greedy to do this to earn favorites and likes and such but well the comunity doesn not maintain you and if your planning on making the commentating thing your job then one must do such a thing like the giveaways.

Yes, it is. Especially when you take into consideration how much they're making back in ad revenue. What I'm talking about when I say "cheap tactics" is the fact that they make you favorite, like and comment their videos in order to enter. By getting all these false favorites, likes and comments, they're getting more exposure and getting more ad clicks, etc. Also, typing "MOST", "EPIC" and "EVER!!!" in the title in all caps when they are anything but that. Personally, I think that the idea is quite sound. As you said, everybody wins and so good for both parties. However, I think that there should be more requirements to just the 'Like,favourite and comment' maybe a decent peice of feedback and then you choose 100 of the best and use a random number calculator.

I personally don' see anything wrong with give aways used in a form to thank there fans but used to get more views and favorites some what seems like a form of cheating out others that uploading videos. If i ran one i would limit it to one comment so they don't get more chance in the raffle for the one favorite and one like. After all that is said, i watch youtube videos for my own personal enjoyment so idk if give away are really necessary to get views if your videos are worth watching

I suppose it sucks for new youtubers just starting videos because people like xJawz and Whiteboy had already "made it" when they started giving stuff away. It could be argued that by giving stuff away it will keep them on top and make it much harder for people to compete for views and genuine most favourites.
I suppose it just comes down to what end of the spectrum you are on.

They definitely have an advantage over giving other channels that may not be able to give away free stuff, however those channels you mentioned that do give away gifts have produced lots of great content and videos, so they deserve the recognition. New commentators need to produce good content first before getting the opportunity to provide free gifts to their fans.

The thing is H3CZ would they still do it if there was a rule which made it so they wouldn't be applicable for the top views/favorites etc. Also they didn't get any money from that video through their partnership. I'm pretty sure if these rules came into affect you would see them stop these giveaways pretty quickly. I couldn't care less about them being at the most viewed/favorites but the idea behind why they're both doing it disgusts me.
