  • We love you, Ten!

  • I like how this leads into one of the most heartbreaking scenes ever.

  • suchh a good show! No one could pull this off but the doctor!

  • "It's not pretty when they blow"...

    That's what the companion said.

  • ding!

  • Since when was Joss Whedon a writer for this show?

  • It goes ding when theres stuff

  • It should just be a general life rule for everyone who isn't a hen farmer to stay away from hens.

  • It should just be a general life rule for everyone who isn't a hen farmer to stay away from hens.

  • best scene ever

  • Some really clever person: We've got to connect up the Skasiatric paradigm with the Shinigami anomaly with the power of 10 adjuchas Menos grandes.

The doctor: This is my timey-wimey detector, it goes "ding" when there's stuff.

  • I'd call it an ad-hoc device to detect temporal anomalies, but to each his own.

  • Doctor, I see you have the machine that goes... ding.

  • @blackleatherrain Yeah, it goes 'ding', but only when there's stuff, mind you.

  • i suspect Timey Wimey "stuff" is composed of tachyons

  • @ozzy4president51 Too much sci-fi for you, and not the good kind. Tachyons, if they existed, would not travel backwards in time as the popular conception of them seems to be. They would, in fact, exist in complex time with complex mass. What that means...no one really knows, which is why most scientists don't think they exist.

And that ends your physics lesson for today.

    -IMP ;) :)

  • @IceMetalPunk the fact that anyone even responded is amusing enough for me. I enjoyed the physics lesson haha would the particle fit the symmetry of the current standard model if it were to exist? or would it not necessarily which would be one of the other supporting arguments by scientists amongst other reasons for why its thought to not exist?

  • With the lines the Doctor says sometimes, I really have to wonder how many takes they... take because the actors start laughing in the middle of saying it.

  • when you watch doctor who enough, his talk about "stuff" makes complete sense lol

  • He was so good at explaining things in that episode. xD

  • @kavtoM It's a big ball of timey wimey...stuff. And this timey wimey detector goes ding when there's stuff. But whatever you do, don't blink.

    -IMP ;) :)

  • XD it goes ding when theres stuff

  • Oh my god, I love this. David Tennant, the 10th Doctor, this show, this quote, EVERYTHING.

  • This episode just creeped the hell out of me, but of course it gave us this quote. Worth it? Ohh I think yes :)

  • One of the best episodes ever. Brought in one of the creepiest villains ever (although I have to say that the Silents from Series 6 could give them a run for their money, since their gimmick also means you have to constantly look at them in order to deal with them. Only the Angels can't move when you look at them, and the Silents can. It's just that if you can't see them, you don't remember them.) and gave us one of the greatest DW quotes of all time. "Goes ding when there's stuff."

  • Creepiest angels I've ever seen... I can't stand their eyes, I will NEVER forget their eyes!!! But this quote is the funniest thing I've ever heard the Doctor say.

    "Goes ding when there's stuff."

    HAHAHA

  • Oh Doctor, you never cease to amaze me with your clever inventions.

  • hmm... Define STUFF...

  • Oh, it goes ding when theres stuff. Gotcha, i didnt understand it there for a minute. xD

  • David Tennant, master of Buffy Speak.

  • What the hell is "stuff?"

  • @zeekyboogydoog826 Since it's a timey wimey detector, obviously it's timey wimey stuff. More than likely of the wibbly wobbly variety.

  • @zeekyboogydoog826 It's the stuff that time is a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey...of.

  • I'm torn between which of my favorite lines from the ENTIRE Doctor Who series, is my number one favorite.

This one, and "I'm the Doctor. Well, they call me the Doctor. I don't know why. I call me the Doctor too. I still don't know why."

Also, "If we're going to die, let's die looking like a Peruvian folk band." :'D

  • this is my favorite line of all time! thanks! XD

  • @windchimes098 No problem!

  • "It goes 'ding' when there's stuff." Yep, lost you for a minute there, Doc.

  • "This is my timey-wimey detector. It goes ding when there's stuff."

Just might be my favorite Doctor Who quote. Ever.

  • Exterminate!

  • I want that on a t-shirt!

  • @sumbuddyx

    which part?

  • @sumbuddyx I made one with it on a t shirt.

  • @AmyPond2010 Can I have it? Please? maybe? ;-)

  • This is my Timey-wimey-detector. Goes ding when there's stuff. And it can boil an egg at thrity paces. Whether you want it to or not, actually. It's... I've learned to stay away from...not pretty when they blow

  • "Whether you want it to or not, actually" was a pretty epic line.

  • I've been looking for this video forever! Thank you for uploading! =D

  • Such a hilarious scene in such a paranoia-inducing episode!

  • "I like stay away from hens. ...It's not pretty when they blow."

  • didn't remember the bit about exploding hens... lol

  • It's amazing that the most hilarious lines ever (this and the other Timey-Wimey line) come from the most creepifying episode ever. You have no idea how long Blink made me sleep with the lights on because *everything* in my room was the shadow of a statue until proven otherwise. And it gave us this! Also, I gotta love the Doctor's approach to tech speak. If this was Star Trek (especially TNG) you know it'd be "it reads the cascade flow of the chronometric positronic duotronic muons" or some such.

  • @EcliptorCalrissian

Imagine a Horror Movie based on the idea in this episode. Evil gargoyle things! *They're everywhere.*

  • this is my timey wimey detector. goes ding when theres stuff.' ive watched this episode a million times, and i would never forget that line :)

  • *DING* Yup, theres stuff here!

  • It goes "ding" when there's stuff.

Oh, behold the great mind of the last Time Lord... :D

  • LMAO

the other guy is like *inch away slowly*

    it dongs when there's stuff

also, it can boil an egg at thirty paces...whether you want it to or not actually

  • lmao, hens!

what episode is this from!? :P

  • its from blink in series 3.

    love this clip :D

  • (Its not pretty when they blow.)

  • Best. Line. Ever.

  • hahah this line cracks me up every time i hear it! love the way he says it!

  • "It's not pretty when they blow." *serious look*

    ---

    O_O .... LOL

  • Best. Line. Ever. xD

  • it goes "ding" when there's stuff

  • also you can boil an egg

  • ROTFL Oh man, DT is just the best. Sucks that he's leaving...

  • One of the best comic relief moments ever. Especially considering that this episode was written by Stephen Moffat, king of New!Who horror.

  • Brilliant! I love the doctor, hes so funny!!!

  • Timey-Wimey device - one of the best lines ever!

  • "Also, it boils an egg at thirty paces, whether you want it to or not, actually. I've learned to stay away from hens, it's not pretty when they blow."

amazing. I still love the way his voice sound when he says "Goes 'ding' when there's stuff."

  • "Goes ding when there's stuff."

    haha lol XD love it.

  • "I've learned to stay away from hens. It's not pretty when they blow."

    xDD

  • Ah, the Doctor Who/Chicken Run connection rises again.

  • Which episode was that one?

  • It was Blink...it was soo creepy

  • Timey-wimey. Haha. One of my favorite episodes as well... Even though it scared the crap out of me. Creepy weeping angel thingies... Brr.

  • lol! This is and always has been about my favourite Doctor Who quote ever XD

  • I've seen this about 80 times and it still makes me laugh. LOL

  • Love this clip. Great episode, great lines, just great all over!

  • "Goes 'ding' when there's stuff"

    BRILLIANT!

  • Oh thank you so much for uploading this! It's one of my favourite random Doctor quotes; oh, he has a way with words doesn't he, with all that "jiggery-pokery" and "wibbely wobbly, timey wimey"ness - love it, love him.

"It's not pretty when they blow" haha, I would love to see how he found that out, such a fantastic line. Thanks again

  • also it can boil an egg.

    XD love it

  • It goes "ding" when there's stuff.

  • goes bing when there is stuff.. haha =)

  • I Love this quote!!! One of the best!

I think they should sell timey wimey detectors! I want one!(sorry bit of a geek moment! *blush*)

  • yes! that should be part of the series three merch, i would buy one!

  • It'd look great as a lunch box. I'd buy one, too.

  • i'd love to say that one day...it goes 'bing' when there's stuff...brilliant!!

  • Love it, love it, love it! Wish I had one...or maybe I just wish I had the Doctor...

  • This is one of my favorite DW quotes of all time. :)

  • yeah this is my message tone on my phone =]

  • goes ding when theres stuff. XD!! rofl

  • When I first saw that episode I rewound several times to hear the line again. Very funny!

  • The first time I watched this episode, this line pretty much went right over my head.

Now I just can't stop laughing at the image.

  • Love that. It goes "ding" when there's stuff.

  • ROTFLMAO! I need one of those.
