@ToObiach this is drum and bass...simple. dubstep is 140bpm half time drums with kick on 1 and snare on 3 generally. and when the term dubstep was introduced it was also about deep sub bass melodies and simple basslines / atmospheric pads accompanying it. but these days theres this new shit which is screeching synths (u cant even call it bass because its so high pitched) and generic vengeance drum samples and maybe some cheesy vocal thrown in....

its very simple. if you have any experience djing dnb and dubstep it becomes very obvious. just listen to the kick snare, particularly the speed. once you get to understand the speed of dubstep (around 70/140 bpm) and dnb (87.5/175) you can easy hear which is which. forget about how it actually sounds, its the beat pattern that matters. this is drum and bass. end of.

For Christ Sake!! Its neither dubstep or drumstep its Drum & Bass. It deosnt matter what sounds are used for any drum and bass track as long as the BPM and the drum pattern are correct ITS ALL IN THE DRUMS! I could record my nan taking a shit and as long ass i set it to 180 BPM and had the kicks hit on beats 1 and between beats 3 and 4 along with the snare hitting on the fourth beat........then its DRUM AND BASS. Although in this song the snare drags a bit and hits half a beat after beat 4.

Also, the reason I wrote what I wrote was because some people refuse to listen to a song just because it is of a certain genre, rather than just appreciating it for what it is, a song. Chill out anyway, don't be so millitant! There are bigger issues, like Pakistan Floods and East African crisis.

@EpicPremonitionUK hahaha, you make dnb like that and you will fail! :D its soo much more complex, especially some sub genres such as Neurofunk.. the amount of resampling and vst layering on the basses in neurofunk would blow your mind. it takes skill to master how to produce DnB well.. trust me, i produce and its not nearly as easy as it sounds. oh and the drum patterns often are made up of about 4-7 layered samples, all processed differently to fill the spetrum, and mastering Dnb is also hard!
