  • We don't have any ican midwives near Ontario, Oregon that are allowed to help with a vaginal birth after c-sections. The hospitals won't even do it.So I will have my baby at home, on my own. After 3 not needed c-sections.

  • I think this is great for these women. However, I am pregnant with my sixth baby, all of the previous 5 were c sections, and this one will be too. I have CP and a narrow pelvis. I just want to say, if you are not able to have a vaginal birth ever, you are not less of a woman, nor are you less of a mom. Best of luck to all the women hoping for a vback and to those women who are not able to do it.

  • This is so beautiful! It makes me cry everytime I watch it. Although, my tears are not only those of pure happiness and pure joy for these women and others like them, but they are also in sadness and shame. Sadness because the hope I had after first seeing this is lost forever. Sadness that I will never again get the chance to try and shame in that I am not strong enough to try again.

  • I have 4 children! All sections and after the first i was scared into the second, then told there was NO WAY EVER that i could have a natural birth fir any after! Im so upset! I would have probably had 6 children but now have been told its too dangerous! I know i am lucky to have my babies but i feel the option to have more has been stolen from me!

  • Where did you find your Dr. - share his name!!! Fabulous! You did it!

  • I've had 2 c-sections. I had trouble bonding with my first son. and depression. With my second, It was planned, I cry because i feel bad that I have trouble bonding. I hate how everyone thinks this is way easier then vaginal..ITs not..i would love to have my baby layed on my chest when their born :(

  • (CONTINUATION OF LAST COMMENT) Both left me with a baby in my arms! Thank God I had a baby in my arms the third time also. These videos breed stupidity and promote c section moms lack of self worth. It makes me sick!

  • (CONTINUATION OF LAST COMMENT) C-Section mom's need to stick together and quit this bull crap about making it some sort of accomplishment. It is your baby! Why would you feel like less of a Mom for how the baby got out safely. Whey you actually risked their life. I worry every day that my son will start to show singes of brain damage form the lack of oxygen at birth. It seems selfish to me. I felt no more accomplished after my successful VBAC.

  • Thank God I am not as stupid as these ladies! I had a emergency c section with my first...then a successful VBAC with my secant. With my third my uterus ruptured. Thank GOD I was in the hospital. I almost died in the hospital . If I would have been at home we both be DEAD! Why try this at home? Why do women feel like more of a women...or like it was some sort of accomplishment.

  • Keeper@home, did you have your VBAC?

  • this video make me feel like i really can do this i am tt#3 after 2 c-section an the 1st was an emergency and the 2nd was planed c-section i really did not think v-bac after 2 c-section was safe but i have been reading am seen a lot of good thing so i just hope all works out

  • Thanks for educating women and their families on VBAC option. I've had 3 c-sections. The reason for the first one was we had a set of twins, and one of the babies was breech so I was told. I was younger and did'nt think to investigate or shop my options afterwards. I am now on my 4th preparation for a c-section. I really believe I can deliver this time naturally. Although I will consider my regular doctor's advice. Thanks again;-)

  • thanks for the video. i have had 3 c sections and would like to no if after having so much c sections if i could have viginal birth my first kid was born 2001 i had 2 nautral births and the had c section 2006.and then anather 2009 i am trying for anther baby hope fully it will not be born by c sections ...............thnks for the video

  • this Powerful!

  • thank you for this empowering video, i am preg with my 3th babies and dont want to go through the experience of a c- section again it is emotionally and phisically depressing i am in the prosess of changing my current doctor who wants to give me another c-section and by Gods grace I can get my VBAC.

  • This is a beautiful video.

I can't believe a doctor would tell a woman her body isn't made to give birth!

Isn't that exactly what it's made to do?!

I don't think Dr.s realize the impact our birth experiences have on us.

  • Of course womens bodies are made to give birth, sometimes birth is just unpredicatable and not handled right, sometimes the baby is sick or the mother gets sick, but if a woman gets pregnant, her body will prepare for the time it thinks birth should happen.

  • Thank you for that lovely montage. It most certainly is possible and more than I think women know because of the lack of support and belief within themselves.

  • I had a VBA2C in a hospital a little over a year ago.. the feeling is phenomenal. The risk of multiple c/s are greater than the risks for a VBAmC! Sad most people don't know this.

  • @elphalba why don't more doctors perform vba2c. I am praying for one right now, I am pregnant with my third baby.

  • also, Xauby, doctors do not know everything. they practice within their comfort zone.

did you know that most ob's NEVER even see a natural, unmedicated and intervention free vaginal birth in medical school or residency? how could they possibly be experts in un-interfered with birth? ob's are trained surgeons, not trained in normal birth.

what happens to you in pregnancy, labor and birth has more to do with your caregivers beliefs and philosophies than YOUR health or the health of your baby.

  • i had a my vbac baby at home and it was AMAZING! thanks for that beautiful video! Iris

  • I agree Xauby, what's the point of risking yourself & your baby? Having major surgery that you don't need (especially a 3rd or 4th+ cesarean) is RISKY. All kinds of risks increase with additional c-sections, but the risk of uterine rupture after additional c-sections does not.

Unfortunately, some OBs recommend interventions that are not only unnecessary, but actually harmful to moms & babies.

Go to the ICAN site for more info.

  • Umm yea, what's the point of risking yourself and your baby? If my mom hadn't had a C-Section, I would be dead and so would she. Some women need C-Sections. I see it as, if there is an intervetion, or you doctors recomend it for past health reasons, you should get a one to ensure the safety of you and your baby.

  • I agree that cesareans have their time & place. My first baby was born with a severe birth defect that almost took her life & required me to have a classical cesarean. My second cesarean was completely not needed- my son was engaged & although he was born cesarean, had a cone head... When I have my 3rd I plan on trying a vbac even though I have an inverted T with the possible help of Dr. Tate in Atlanta or a midwife for a HBA2C.

  • @Xauby Women die from the surgery aftereffects more often than vaginal births. Yes, some women do need surgery, but most of the ones done today are not for reasons that would have been necessary had the women been in a better location(home) or had less interventions to begin with. Surgery increases health risks, not lessen them, usually.

  • Fantastic stuff girls. It shows our bodies are meant to push out babies despite medical intervention playing such role previously. I can't wait to achieve what you have . I'm so excited about the prospect of child birth and don't plan on stepping into hospital to birth my babies. Don't ever forget what our bodies are designed to do. Have faith in your abilities girls xxxx so emotional x

  • Thanks, ladies. This video is fantastic...and of course has me in tears. Tears that I was not expecting.

  • Well, I am expecting our 7th baby. I have had 6 c-sections and have found a doctor who will support me with a VBAC, I am due in August...It can be done after 1 or 2 or 3 or more...

  • @keeperathome1970 I think what you have done is so wonderful. You give me so much hope. Thankyou. I would love a response. If not thats fine. May you and your family be blessed aways.

  • WOW!!!thank you ladies the more I hear the greater I feel, keep this up ladies as I am from london and am a student midwife. Obstetricians and midwives here do not support vba2c or any further and they would prob try to have a woman commited to an asylum if she suggested home delivery but I plan to do all of the above. I will keep you guys posted! keep up the good work xxx

  • Congratulations on VBACS, any lady does whats best and gives birth, because herbaby grew in her and theres only 2 ways baby can come out, so when she goes for both ceaser and vbacs or nvds for her child she is thinking whats best for child and still giving birth and still brave, because ceaser invloves recovery and pain from after the birth and nvd or vbac involves pain during the birth

  • I wish I had a ceaser with my 1st baby, then she would not have been born sick with AROM during a rapid NVD, then I could have been in recovery instead of beign accused as selfish for visiting my baby in the NNU and selfish for wanting her home

  • that's twisted. Cesareans are not cake walks. They are major abdominal surgery with life long consequences.

  • Inspiring video! I love it! Who sings that song and what is the name of the song?

  • Love this video! My VBAC was a wonderful experience..

  • I've seen this video before, but I STILL love it and it STILL makes me cry!

I just attended my client's VBA4C and it was AMAZING. I will never forget it as long as I live!

VBAC = Very Beautiful And Courageous!

  • i am currently pregnant with my 3rd baby.. i have already got 2 girls who were born by c-sections under GA.. i wanna try a vbac cause i feel i was robbed of the experience of hearing my daughters first cry.. i am seeing the doc on 3rd november so hopefully he'll appreciate that he's not in my shows so he really has to understand and realise that it not all bout what the docs want.. as long as the babys health isnt at risk then im up for natural birth.. wish me luck girls..

  • I know this isn't true they just don't want to do it!! and I know that I can and will be OK!!!

Thank you for giving me hope!!!

  • WOW I am crying I know that sounds stupid!! But I have had 2 c-sections and it hurt me to know that my second attempt was ruined!!!My first was posture and the Dr didn't want to try anything I was young and stupid!! I didn't know I had options. the second time around I tried had progression after a 24 hour labor!! It killed me. But after watching this I am happy and know I can do this as long as I find the Dr to do it. well and convincing my hubby. they told him nothing but I will die doing it!!

  • beautiful video.

women making birthing choices and reaping the physical and emotional benefits of whole care. Being educated and supported can take you far. Thank goodness for doctors and midwives and may someday they work together to make every option available.

  • This video is so empowering and encouraging!

    I love it!!!

  • There are just as much risks for a c-section or repeat c-section. And for some mom's a c/s is like sawing off their leg. For some women, VBAC is a better and healthier option for both mom AND baby. Catastrophic things do not ALWAYS happen with VBAC's and most women do a lot of research before attempting a VBAC. Just like you chose the best thing for you and your baby, these women (and many others) were trying to choose the best thing for them and their babies.

  • do the research lady...

  • Actually Onlooker the risk of uterine rupture is less than 1% after c-section. The risk decreases further if a doula is present and you have a homebirth as the more relaxed you are the less the contractions hurt and they more they work. Do you research and never tell someone that having a c/s are wrong about how they feel b/c I know that it is traumatizing, disappointing and on top of that violating to have a c/s when you want and understand a vaginal birth and know why it is best.

  • Count me as another crier after watching this! I am 38 weeks pregnant and going for a HBAC. After having my body butchered in an unusual (and most likely unnecessary) C-section and then being lied to by hospital staff about why my birth failed, I am really looking forward to doing this!

  • It is great to hear all of these vbac. How many years were the kids apart when you had the successful vbac? I would like to know so I could success a vba2c.

  • I am crying too. I am from Romania and VBAC is not an option; women who are considering VBAC are considered crazy, they have no support. I am pregnant with my second child, and I had the luck to find a hospital where they will help me have VBAC. I'll be a winner. I know I can! Congrats Girls!

  • THIS VIDEO HAS GIVEN ME ALOT OF STRENGTH TO CONTINUE PURSUING MY vba4c. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT HOSPITAL DID KACKIE IN THE VIDEO DID HER VBA4C? I AM LOOKING FOR A HOSPITAL THTA SUPPORTS THAT. I THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AND I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT YOU GUYS ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS. :)

  • I am crying... I am from Czech Republic,in our country is VBAmultipleC illicit. Permitted by the law is only VBA1C.

  • This video made me bawl! I just found out today at 28wks that it may be possible for me to have a vba2c. I didn't even know that abreviation. My ob had told me from the start of this pregnancy that there was no way, the risk was too high and he wouldn't even talk about it. I'm looking now at switching docs. I'm a little scared, but not as scared as being sliced open again.

  • This is so great. I hope for a vbac next time around. I had to have a c-section in May 2007 because my son was breech...(not to mention 10 pounds!)

and it was the most terrible experience ever, I feel so cheated. I was put to sleep for the surgery because I felt the first cut!!!! also I lost alot of blood and had to have blood transfusions..I was the last to see my son.. I was so drugged up I barely remember anything from that day except the horriffic pain when I woke up...what a disaster...

  • never give up hope - no matter how many caesareans you've had, believe that you can do it. Chances are, you CAN!

    VBA3C 2006

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • Oh I totally bawled! What a powerful and inspiring video! I'm due to give birth within the next month and praying it goes well (VBA2C!) My last was a CBAC after a homebirth transfer

  • Inspiring! I was wondering where the video went after it was posted before. Hopefully it will stick around this time.

  • Thanks for sharing!! :)

  • AWESOME!!! I am going for a vba2c this May! I am so honored that ladies have shared their amazing triumphant births! Thank you for NEVER giving up!!!

  • Oh this is just what I needed! I just had a CBAC for placenta abruption.
