I worked at Ruehl from the day it opened (at my location) to the day it closed. It was such an amazing brand and I was happy to represent it. It was expensive to the public. One of the stores couldn't even make enough money in a year to pay off the cost for building it. Not enough marketing was pushed to attract people in.

Ruehl was a great concept, it just didn't have good marketing.

Compared to other retail stores in the mall, yes, they are stressful. People think retail is easy when indeed it is NOT. Especially in department stores; the one's I listed above are just a few of them.

And to answer your question: It was a good concept by Abercrombie, but they never really cared for it, ever since Gilly Hicks came into business. That's when Ruehl started to go down. It was in depth for almost its entire span; no one was coming into the store to buy things. Marketing was horrible, and there was not enough advertisement. It was just another Abercrombie & Fitch that charged 20+ dollars more.

Also, some look really nice on the inside of the mall, depending on which one it is. The most beautiful one I've seen was at Twelve Oaks, and yes it is "outside".

Impact is like when you are dealing with the back room more than 90 percent of the time. You will have to deal with sticker sizings, eUSR's, go backs etc.

Also you will be making sure that everything that needs to be on the floor is on the floor: making sure that there is enough of everything.

All of this may sound harder than what a model does, but at least you get to have more fun than them.
