Yet it's used by millions who use English, French, Italian, Spanish and so on. There re thousands of Latin words in these languages. Tamil is spoken by millions now. It's very much alive. Of course some Tamils use English with Tamil but it does not mean that Tamil language is dysfunctional or archaic.

There are 2 facts that are haunting my mind.

1. Love is a subtle thing that needs a subtle medium of expression; and love for language is no different. I feel that such extravagance seems a bit too gaudy for any language - especially a tender and artistic language like Tamil.

2. Any magnitude of love does not justify the insane expenditure. I would rather love to see an illiterate civilized kid rather than a starving kid driven to violence and anti-social means.
