  • Yabba-dabba delicious!

  • I miss cigarette commercials..Shame the government does not think people are smart enough to make up their own mind on things..

  • I'd love to see some ninety-pound Prius driving little fuck try to tell Fred goddamn Flintstone to put out his cigarette. Fred would end his shit right there.

  • "I hate to see them work so hard...."

"Yeah, me too.... Eh, let's go around back where we can't see 'em."

Grew up watching the reruns when they were old, and it's still such an awesome show 20 years *after* that. I just wish they'd kept these ads so I could look as cool as Barney, with deformed ears and a foot-long Winston to take my mind off them (took me twelve years to decide those were ears and not prehistoric jawbones, or tumors, or just arbitrary stylistic bumps).

  • Im so progressive take all these commercials down lol , these old dinosaur days lol

  • @AYCHMENG Be progressive and go to another channel.

  • @kjq45 will do lol

  • What really annoys me is how horrible this commercial is. Nobody uses a product and then goes on to spend half a minute glowingly praising it to someone who already knows what it is. Will advertisers ever fucking figure that out?

  • I don't think cigerettes where around in dinosaur times

  • @LAcHlAn1011 there weren't any humans either :))

  • @tray1108 sorry i meant the cave men times

  • They should of banged each others wifes then have a cig.

  • The show itself wasn't too much of a kids thing, either.

  • I NEED A FUCKING CIG NOW!!

  • @MrAntello gratz you are enslaved by nicotine

  • @AFunyun my childhood heros helped :(

  • No wonder I had a deep hate for flintstones.

  • Isso é real?

  • Something about this video seems to make me think of this thing called smoking.

  • why do people always say banned ..it was shown then never shown again thats not banning something u already showed it

  • @Robbybob1 Er.. yes it is

  • @tricksterhuaun They had to deal with Dinosaurs, wouldn't you smoke too?

  • @Robbybob1

It is, actually. Banning something isn't just preemptively stopping it from airing.

  • How the hell did they light them.

  • @Satiricalfella

    Flint and tar.

  • They missed one of the easiest stone puns ever.

  • Smoke, Smoke, Smoke, smoke why aren't you smoking ah family guy

  • this is awesome.

  • ARE YOU SMOKING YET?

  • in the 60s everyone smoked so im not really surprised

  • @muntasir20 no weed?

  • an "encourager" for kids smoking

  • If fred and barney is doing it, it must be right. Forget about the cancer, that's just a myth like global warming.

  • Its the missing follow on episode where Fred and Barney get eaten alive by a tumorsaurus I wanna see....

  • this show wasn't intended for kids.

  • 200 packs later

    fred:winston..how...could...you*dies*

    barney: haha you b--*dies*

  • Cracked, anyone?

  • what the hell ...they were allowed to do this back in the 50's

  • @cicib27 They were allowed to do this until 1964.

  • Flavor 20 times the pack ... and the cancer LOL

  • WINSTON TASTE GOOD LIKE A *snap**snap* CIGARETTE SHOULD

  • dam makes me want to smoke

  • Remember, Where there's smoke, there is the Flintstones...

  • whats that lassy?

    ARE YOU SMOKING YET

  • haha they are almost a 1/3rd the size of barney! that would be value for money, a cigarette thats almost as big as you!

  • That was the least subtle commerical i have ever seen

  • *as a cigarette should

  • Gimmie a smoke!

  • I know that Wilma finished making Fred and Barney their sandwiches before mowing the lawn.

  • SMOKE. BLA BLA BLA BLA SMOKE. BLA BLA BLA SMOKE. BLA BL BLA U SMOKIN YET. family guy. hehehehehehe peter.

  • YOU SMOKIN YET??!?

  • ...

  • WINSTONS ARE FUCKING GOOD, LIKE A CLICK-CLICK CIGARETTE SHOULD, BUT I COUGH :( and die :((

  • I never get over how messed up this is. XD

  • its like theres some sort of message in this...i cant place my finger on it...perhaps the lawn mower

  • More like "The Winstons."

  • A lot of people don't understand that the 'Flintstones' was intended when wrote, animated and aired as an adult cartoon. It was not intended for children, as much as it tries to be marketed now.

  • @rexmage i did not know that

    how do u know

  • @rocawear326 A lot of shows back then were intended for adults. Rocky and Bullwinkle and MANY adult jokes that I didn't understand as a kid. I watch them now and realized how much adult humor were in them.

  • YABBA DABBA DEATH!

  • Sweet vid dude. I just posted a video just like this with the flintstones theme song

  • this video got me started on smoking cigs.DO NOT WATCH! IT CONTAINS SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES!!!

  • It was a different time back then...

  • BAM! Right in the childhood!

  • this is a commercial for winston cigarettes, not flintstones. who else thinks so?

  • @chibikona100 What gave it away?

  • were do they get the paper to roll the tobaco in? TIME PARADOX

  • 0_0

  • This is so much funnier if you turn on the captions audio from the captions bar.

  • I wish I lived back when they made this show.

  • SMOKE!

  • @JaKeW13 Are you smoking yet?

  • Wait...they're in the Stone Age. How did they get the cigarettes?

  • @TheRoyalAquamaster Were the hell did they get the oil for the lighters?

  • wow.........lol

  • I used to enjoy watching the Flintstones. However as I got older, I realized what a pain in the ass Wilma was when her and Betty always used to gang up on Fred and Barney, ruining their fun or hopes and dreams.

  • ya it was bad back then remember pink panther how he would smoke well as you may of noticed many adults these days are addicted too cigs well its those damn ads in cartoon back then.

  • Now how the fuck can Bedrocks name be changed to winston? Oh well Im going to buy some winston cigrattes to have to find out.

  • There was no sexism in those days. That's how it was. Plus every one smoked. This commercial is only offensive because we've advanced so far in modern times.

  • OMG Looooooooooooooooooooooool

  • im glad i dont smoke

  • Chauvinism and advertising smoking. What's wrong with this?

  • @Eragarev

    Nothing

  • Ad's are meant for people that are likely to need a product. I see lots of ads for yougourt and no matter how much they push, I ain't gonna run out and buy me some yougourt!

I smoked because I liked the smell of tobbaco in the air conditioned home atmosphere after school on a hot day and in my Dad's office as a kid growing up in Mexico. In our view then, ads were just a part of adult life something we looked forward to. Children smoking on TV would be vile. It happens in Hollywood!

  • Haha, the way they pose when Betty's going by. The same look I make when I know I've done something wrong.

  • lighten up francis.

  • I know sumthing better to do barney. lets go get stoned

  • @sparky9278 fuk yeah!!!

  • How can this be produced for RADIO VIEWERS ???????

  • I'm more offended by the sexism in this commercial. These jerks are just standing around by a brick wall watching their wives do hard labor, so they go to the back so they don't have to see them, and just lay down against the wall and one suggests they take a nap from the tiring job of watching their women work, but the other suggests that it is so tiring that they better take a cigarette break, WHAT THE...? Is it supposed to be ironic?

  • @KristinNirvana instead of making that comment, u probly shudda been makin a sandwich for some guy.... i'm jus saying

  • @MistaSmooch Haha, very funny, but seriously, I guess it was just that sexism was more accepted in those days, but the pain is still there.

  • beating that rug!

  • Oh damn.

  • Hahaha Fucking Cave man!!

  • haha man

  • i never did get that. seeing joe camel smoke was bad, but my parents smoking all day everyday in front of me was ok.

  • TIME PARADOX

  • cartoon network is the biggest pile of crap now!! if they put real cartoons, like toonami or these i would watch it everyday!!!!

  • so thats where the flinstones went, they all died of cancer

  • I just find it funny that Winston was using a kids cartoon to promote their cigarettes.

I wonder how many (elementary or junior high) kids actually smoked because of this ad (lol).

  • And the liberal Al Gore and his family made their millions on tobacco farming.

  • Shouldn't it be Winstone cigarettes? This is the Flintstones after all.

  • The Flintstones are so sexist I love it

  • C'mon, kids --Fred says it's cool ..

  • Next you're going to tell us is that that smoking can cause cancer ...

  • they should play in condoms commercial, that would explain why they got no kids

  • @Kox300 What about Pebbles and Bam Bam? They weren't adopted you know.

  • @gregboyds Actually in the live action movie, Bam Bam WAS adopted ;)

  • @Kox300 Thanks, I guess I missed that one. I always knew that Bam Bam was mal-adjusted, just didn't know that he had a rough start in life. Pebbles was Fred and Wilmas though. Yabadabadoo! :)

  • That is So Sexist....

  • there's a hidden message about it, but i don't know what it is. o well, off to buy some winston cigs for some reason.

  • @skad4 lol!!!!

  • Mmmm, gotta love the taste of formaldehyde and black lung

  • I have to admit the least this would do is make cigarettes not seem unhealthy, I can't get this feeling that it's wrong to do this

  • as long as the women are subserviant and they have there cigarettes fred and barney are cool, different times.

  • stoners

  • wtf why would it be banned its not like little kids can go to the store and by a pack of winstons!

  • why is black and white ?

  • @MyUnholyGrail because your retarded and dont know anything about old tv

  • Must...Smoke...Winston

    Must...Smoke...Winston

    Must...Smoke...Winston

Because I saw a cartoon do it? What?

  • OH MY GOSH!

  • @wassomkeithley they do but in magazines now.

  • if they discovered that cigarettes were bad for you in 1964 then why didn't they ban them then and there?

  • @zitalee2 You haven't watched Mad Men, have you?

  • @urzaz nope :)

  • I saw this when I was a kid too :D

I've never smoked in my life

  • Very clever, and I've seen them use that wood-stick lighter in one episode (not used for lighting Winston cigarettes). Come on, what else could it be used for? It makes sense to me. And catchy.

  • THAT DIDN'T CONTRIBUTE TO UNDER-AGE SMOKING (sarcasm)

  • "Lung cancer feels good like a disease should"... pretty pathetic how ignorant & brainwashed we were back in the "good ol' days"

  • *hooked to an oxygen tank with CANCER* YABBA DABBA D-*dies*

  • Kids will smoke if they want to. I did myself, until I watched ten years younger and saw women my age with more lines than the London underground!

  • It's a little weird to see good old Fred & Barny flogging cigarettes .. & smoking them too ..

  • i gonna go try smoking nao..... kthxbai

  • For the motherland, Quot from cod5 :P

but seriosly the people saying they are weaving cigerets into cartoons are just fueled by propaganda.

Well that's what life is fueled by theses days.

  • wow, it's so weird to imagine there being cigarette commercials on tv today, animated or otherwise . . .

  • I smoke because of this advert.

    I'm gonna sue.

  • Good for you, mate.

  • @TeHRuNeScApEGuY100 I notioce you have a Trailer Park Boys pic there...

    Thumbs up for you!

  • friggen awesome. who know cartoons were actually interesting back then. however i will never smoke.

  • its not true really...but for today's children :).....1971's children was more clever than today.....Even that years "Red Kit" was smoking but for today's children,Red Kit took wheat his mouth instead of SMOKE.....in cartoons...

  • Comment removed

  • @FmMan33 what is wrong gay ??? what you want from me?

  • @zonurvideos

    what?

  • so were the cigarettes especially large, or were the flintstones especially midgety?

  • My mom actually saw this commercial all the time as a kid.

  • SO terrible smoking thingys yeah ok

  • No wonder we had a whole generation of chainsmoking parents who died at 50.........noooooooooooooo *sobs*........ I miss my daddyyyyyyyyyy :'(

  • I think the REAL problem here was advertising cigarettes to CHILDREN, not advertising cigarettes themselves...though the reality is that they are bad no matter who you target. I still love seeing the Flintstones back when they were in black and white. I didn't care for the fact it was a cigarette commercial....I just enjoy the rarity of this video having black and white flintstone characters.

  • Damn, and it's difficult to find the original black and white versions of the first two seasons. I am sure they had such a charm

  • Well gee Barney, if I didn't know any better I'd swear you're trying to advertise these things.

  • Wow it was a joke! Lay off! Plus, at the start I thought it was banned coz the women were doing the work

  • I think this is on the dvd

"Don't Touch That Dial: TV's Best Commercials "

    & elsewhere

  • The commercial wasn't banned because of the cigarettes. It was banned because of Fred and Barney making their wives do all the heavy work around the house while they stood around chatting over the fence. :^)

  • Negative...all cigarette ads have been banned from television for MANY years now, probably before you were even born.

  • Wake up. It was a joke and that was obvious from the smiley at the end. Duh! And I'm probably a lot older than you are because I remember cigarette advertising on television.

  • I think you need to wake up. A smilie emoticon doesn't indicate you were joking. If you want people to think you're joking, you should use a winking emoticon. I guess you really are old if you don't understand that simple concept.

  • @gamewizard WRONG!!!! It was banned BECAUSE of the cigarettes...ALL cigarette ads were banned from TV years ago! Sent wrong messsages to the youth of America...and because of the cancer-causing chemicals in the tobacco!

  • You're a fucking asshole. Even after reading what I posted about it being a joke you still had to post your lame ass comment. Fuck off loser.

  • lmao

  • I can see why it was banned :/

  • Comment removed

  • @HornedDemoN , So you're saying a commercial would make your life better? That's pretty sad...

  • I have to admit, it is kinda weird in a funny sort of way to see Wilma have a smoke at the very end! LOL! :-D

  • From the Bedrock Gazette 10 years after this commercial:

"Entire Flinstone and Rubble family dies of lung cancer"

  • they draw the cigerattes very good compared to the cartoons...

  • I grew up in the 50's and 60's. Everyone smoked and it was no big deal.

  • O.O omg...wow...just...wow...

  • wow.just some things you thought were untouchable.....lol.Can you imagine,"now presenting, the smurfs, brought to you by marlboro."

  • Ahahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahhahaahhaahah.

Is what describes this video best.

  • No wonder the cavemen don't exist anymore!

  • they work hard and they smoke hard

  • "I sure hate to see them work so hard"

"yeah, lets go to the back where we can't see 'em"

    LOL

  • o my

  • I saw all these ads when I was a kid.I have never smoked.

  • good 4 you. Smoking is a dumb idea

  • My intent was to say just because u see an ad on tv doesnt mean u will run out and start doing it.

  • I know exacty what you mean and you are right. Some people just blame TV or video games for stupid things other people do.

  • @kygent508 I'm gonna start smoking because Fred and Barney say it's cool!

  • @kygent508 But do you know how completely stupid kids are today?
