Wow best strechings ever, I´m a violinist n ´ been looking for streches for quite a while but every one I found was like just a variation to the other, ´till I find yours . Thx so much for your vids!!!
I am glad they have helped! Yes, they are quite a bit different than most stretches which makes them very useful when the muscles in the hands are so restricted.
@URehab If u know more stretches, variations or exercises to help opening the knukcles please let me know. Anyway I´m already having a blast with these. Thx ! , keep on!
I'm glad you are using them as they really stretch in areas that normally don't get stretched. I'll keep on trying to come up with new stretches so people can recover from their injuries faster / easier!
Well, mostly it is a shock to your system. You go from doing nothing to all of a sudden performing very specific isolated stretches. Since this is new, I would only do it every other day and be sure to follow with exercises for the antagonist muscles as this will help them settle down. I would just follow with 3-sets of the basic palm-up isolated Flextend exercise and see how you feel…which should be good!
Try the strengthening exercises. If you can exercise it without immediate pain while doing the exercises than you can more than likely rehab it. If the joint is already unstable and there is laxity in the joint, then you certainly don't want to keep stretching it and making it more "sloppy" and unstable.
Injury to any muscle, without direct, post -injury rehabilitation, means that the muscle has atrophied and is now weaker than before the injury. If the interosseus muscles feel tight, it is probably because they are in "protective mode" in order to prevent overstretching and further damage. Stretch lightly and immediately perform 3-4 sets of finger abduction exercises (spreading the fingers apart against resistance.), so they become stronger and return to pre-injury levels.
great stuff thanks again
