  • @PauladaleMcLean I am so glad to see this, thank you. I have been looking for over twenty years.

  • Does anyone have the Romantic Hero episode!?!?!?!

  • Can anyone tell where music playing until 4:00 is from???

  • I wish I knew...sounds like Brahms though.

  • @thorkill it's Mahler, the third movement from the 4th symphony...

  • @luxmundi6 Thank you so much!!!!

  • Why are the sections with Anthony Andrews' connecting narrative deleted in some of the episode postings? Is it possible to find intact verbatim transfers from teh original tapes?

  • Love this video, thanks. Glad to be back on YouTube.

  • There seems to be quite a few people searching quite avidly for the rest of the series - is it not possible to ask the production company for details?

  • I've tried to contact Landseer productions a few times but get no response back. Not even sure if they still hold the rights.

  • that is truly a shame i would love to have copies of this series , and a remastered form i am sure would draw in funds from thouse of us with an academic mind set.and to reiterate the sentiment of those before thank you for posting this

  • Does anyone here know about another British doc series or episode about Romanticism from later in the the 1980s? I believe it was on A&E. I have been searching for this one for years with no luck anywhere. I believe the opening scene was of a little girl retiring to bed at night with a voice over reading Blake's "...Silent, silent Night!"

I would be so very grateful for any info. Thanks to all.

  • How fantastic that more of The Romantic Spirit has been uploaded to Youtube! This seriously was the greatest TV series ever filmed, but as MrPogle states, it is well-night impossible to find.

I've attempted to make an entry for it at IMDb, using the end-credits info provided at the end of this episode. If that entry is accepted, that will provide a forum where interested parties can discuss the series as a whole.

Hopefully, someone, somewhere, has the whole series on tape.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I've been trying to find this for nearly two decades.
