false... who dawned you wise one for all, films are art, sometimes with no specific purpose but to entertain or please the artist (let alone his taste of their suspected fans). The writers & director chose to go with cartoony feel and kept its appeal for a younger audience.

I don't necessarily agree with it, and truthfully felt misled. IMO films always try to maintain the younger demographic despite considering that most of the tickets would be coming from older fans of the series.

When this movie came out I saw it with my family. I've seen the show a few times and I didn't like it, but this movie blew away my expectations.

The special effects were awesome but to me the story was more powerful than anything. Speed being haunted by the memory of his brother just really cast a long, realistic shadow over the whole movie. His struggle with that memory, and himself was just awesome to watch. This movie is anything but shallow.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend it :)

A lot of parts during this first race choked me up....but yeah, the final stretch when Speed crossed the finish line really got to me...so damn emotional. In truth, I've seen the movie a couple of times...but mostly to rewatch this race...although I did like the rest of the movie....this 1st race takes the cake as far as I'm concerned...just fantastic storytelling!!!!! And Rex Racers' Red Mach 4 is pretty damn cool to....almost as cool as the "Shooting Star"...his yellow #9 Car.

I'm not sure why some people seem to think the beginning is not good...storywise....it was the best part of the movie. Awesome race...with flashbacks to Speed & his brother...Speed Racing against the Ghost of Rex Racer was FANTASTIC!...Especially when crossing the finish line.The entire race,with the possible exception of Trixie's flashback (liked it,just might have been better elsewhere)was awesome.The "Holy Canoly,do you know who your racing?"line chokes me up every time.
