  • ok what is the steps to getting out of a downhill park? sorry i got a test on friday for my final drive an i dont rly remember the steps. i know u gota like reverse but idk when. can anyone help me?

  • @likjuju I don't think I know the official rules anymore but after driving for decades I can tell you how I do it. Make sure your foot is on the brake and release the emergency brakes. If in an automatic and facing downhill, and with a car close in front and maybe nothing behind, I put it in reverse and use my other foot to back up quickly before the car rolls downhill into the car in front of me. That type of strategy, making sure I amply use the brakes. Sometimes, I leave the emergency

  • @likjuju brake on and maneuver that way. it keeps the car controlled.

  • Im taking my drivers test in two days! And this was what I was most worried about. Thanks so much! Life saver! :D

  • so what if the street is very steep and you are parking uphill at the right side? Assume that the street is so steep that the curb is not high enough, and the weight of the car will just pull it over the curb, and it will then roll into the road. Shouldn't I then treat this like the situation where there is no curb at all?

  • @nicoghilardi I don't know that answer. I guess it would depend on the individual state's definition of curb, if there is one according to height.

  • thank you

  • @NewSailorMoonNeo689 thank YOU!

  • i've always had trouble with this but no i get it. thanks

  • @gyr11 Thanks!!

  • These visuals are great for clarification! I take online driver's ed and sometimes simply reading the rules doesn't do it for me.
