it needed alot more than what they did. i'm sure the one on the track is going to be done right. so if you see it racing and you bought one, don't worry its not the same bike or motor. close enough to claim, just like nascar. ducati has nothing to worry about.

You obviously know nothing about the XR1200 then. The race XR1200 that is raced in Italy and soon in the UK is a BOG STANDARD motor. The only changes are to suspension & handlebars etc and the addition of a performance Termi exhaust.

Take the time to look at the Italian race series videos and you'll see that they can handle alright. It may not be competition for Ducati but it was never meant to be!

None of the parts fitted to this bike are the same as used on the Italian/Spanish XR1200 cup race bikes (and which UK race bikes are based on). All parts on this bike have been developed specifically for the XR1200 and are suitable for use on road or track. The bike has evolved a lot since this video, and is now a lot more radical with clip on bars and new high level 2-1 exhaust among other things :) You can see the finished result here:

p.s. it's not a drag bike. In its original design, it's modeled after the Springfield milers (dirt track), however, the way these cats set it up, it's most certainly more than formidable on the track.

I know thats the race spec, but most of all the upgrades you could have for road use, you could probably modify the tail unit or something. The race kit detailed for BSB looks amazing.

Do you have a list of the upgrades? like brakes, pipe, shocks, and the rear fairing looks different. The stock bike looks so lame and needs the mods.

Suspension: Ohlins rear, full unit. Ohlins front, internals only.

Bodywork: Kaos Design (Italy) incudes belly pan/ oil catch. Oil cooler moved to behind front numberboard.

Engine: No Modification at all or allowed.

Exhaust. Full Termignoni titanium system with carbon cans ( 2-1-2 system) Screaming Eagle EMS.

Other: 17 Inch front wheel, with Brembo brakes, Handlebars and master cylinder can be changed.

Dunlop D209's or D211's
