This documentary is so one sided and only gives you the evidence that they want to present, I don't doubt that all of these civilizations developed independently of each other, but that doesn't disprove that a far more ancient civilization such as Atlantis once existed.

Very good documentary and a welcome change from the usual pseudoscientific, sensationalistic stuff you see on supposedly educational channels as well as on the bookshelves of libraries. However, considering the number of comments on this video that claim it's meant to brainwash people, hide the truth or is just wrong, it hasn't made much of an impact.

Great show. It's interesting, this kind of documentary -- one that does NOT endorse a conspiracy theory, would never get made or aired on Discovery or the History Channel today. There is just too much money to be made in the more sensational variety.

Something a bit obvious that nobody seems to be considering in this documentary is that, if Atlantis was supposedly destroyed by a large natural disaster, why does everyone expect the few remaining survivors to have been able to pack up their entire city and leave? Interesting documentary, strong and logical arguments, I agree with it. But I also agree with other strong and logical arguments, not debated here. And they do raise a lot of questions.
There is one fact that really itches me at the moment , it's the underwater pyramid found in Yonaguni, Japan. If it is man made, its the oldest known structure on earth. Obviously build when the water was at its bottom, and that 12 000 years ago.
Having seen a lot of dive video on that artifact, it appears to have been worked from a natural rock formation but not constructed. Well within the technology of stone age man. Not an engineering marvel like the Pyramids. Now the slabs of rock in Bimini look like they were quarried, though experts claim the water cut them evenly through wave action. I am skeptical that rectangular slabs would place themselves in such long regular lines.

There's some skepticism about whether or not Himmler actually searched the Himalayas for evidence of an Atlantian master-race so I'll remain open on this topic. Very good documentary and a welcome change from the usual pseudoscientific, sensationalistic stuff you see on supposedly educational channels as well as on the bookshelves of libraries. However, considering the number of comments on this video that claim it's meant to brainwash people, hide the truth or is just wrong, it hasn't made much of an impact.

Great show. It's interesting, this kind of documentary -- one that does NOT endorse a conspiracy theory, would never get made or aired on Discovery or the History Channel today. There is just too much money to be made in the more sensational variety.

@nikamina Religions are founded on belief, science is based on fact. So, which would you prefer? To believe or to be convinced by scientific evidence? Science may be questioned and that is a continuing process. Scientific theories are disproved or proved by factual evidence all the time. Beliefs or belief systems however are not subjected to the same process. Either you believe or you don't. That is the small but significant difference.

I am not a big believer in Atlantis, but on the other hand i have nothing against the possibility of a civilization which existed some time before the known first civilizations, that happened to sink into the ocean for some reason, and this film does not disprove that, what it proves is that stories change over time, and can grow to have grater significance, so ok, they are saying that the Atlantians did not create the other ancient civilization, but does that mean they didn't exist? no.

Another thing peculiar are the so called "Temples of Rejuvenation". Basically a lightning rod in the center of a structure. A myth of the Atlanteans. But what if it were true? What if Rejuvenation temples were common knowledge and when they fled...they all knew how to build them once they found their new homes? Could this be the reason behind the pyramids around the world?

All I know is that myth isn't born in a vaccuum. The Atlantic Mythology must have come from some factually historical place. One has to wonder, though...Would scientists want to hide the possibility of a "Master Race" of Atlantians to avoid the foundation to what could lead to a new Holocaust? No scientist wants to be known as the architect of such a cataclysmic event, so why not start off from the premise that there IS no such thing as Atlantis to avoid finding evidence of it?

What's Hitler's mtDNA? I don't know why he would think the Atlanteans were the Master Race; why he would believe that he was part of it. There seems to be a typical obsession with tangible things in play here. If you can't see or touch it, it never happened or doesn't exist.
Something a bit obvious that nobody seems to be considering in this documentary is that, if Atlantis was supposedly destroyed by a large natural disaster, why does everyone expect the few remaining survivors to have been able to pack up their entire city and leave? Maybe all that survived were ideas which slowly took root and blended with indigenous ideas.

Judging by many of the comments here, there are a lot of people who are distressed to learn that brown, ethnic people built magnificent pyramids, while most Europeans were living in caves.

At minute 3:30 we hear Colin speak some truth. Myths in place of facts suck.
Unfortunately 'this' modern science is using an extremely small sample base to build universal laws. Small samples of the past are being used by 'scientists' as a basis for large conclusions. A bit of graffiti here, a pot sherd there is not enough to build Truth.
So myths with their larger sample base of sources may be closer to the Facts. Math suggests larger sample sizes leads to more Truth.

Interesting documentary, strong and logical arguments, I agree with it. But I also agree with other strong and logical arguments, not debated here. And they do raise a lot of questions.
There is one fact that really itches me at the moment , it's the underwater pyramid found in Yonaguni, Japan. If it is man made, its the oldest known structure on earth. Obviously build when the water was at its bottom, and that 12 000 years ago.
It even has the same width as the Great Pyramid.

Having seen a lot of dive video on that artifact, it appears to have been worked from a natural rock formation but not constructed. Well within the technology of stone age man. Not an engineering marvel like the Pyramids. Now the slabs of rock in Bimini look like they were quarried, though experts claim the water cut them evenly through wave action. I'm sure he got the Idea from old tales of the Time. Wich came from Egipt.

This series of videos claims plato said that atlantis was super civilization, when infact he said in his writings that there were 2 civilizations one "perfect society" he claimed was athens and its rival Atlantis. therefore this entire documentry is based ont the false claim that atlantis was the bringer of civiliztion..............

It was not Plato who first mentioned Altantis. it was his teacher (don't remember the name) who told of the tale of Atlantis. he just continued it and i believe took all the credit

No-one in this doc' has looked into the similarities in the mythologies of many of the cultures mentioned...the writing may be different, but many of the stories are the same.

Did I miss something? Why must these civilizations have something in common in order to prove the existence of a lost civilization? Why couldn't a ancient civilization casually referred to as Atlantis appear, disappear while other later civilizations evolve independently?
The title "Atlantis Uncovered" is misleading, should call it "Theories of Atlantis Uncovered". By the way, I find it hard to believe we're the first and the last intelligent beings to exist on earth. People die, but earth lives

You didn't miss a damn thing. There wasn't anything to miss. There wasn't anything that hints at a pale ghost of a link between any of the old new and old world civilizations.
Get used to the idea that we, Human Beings, Homo Sapiens are it. Wherever in the world you find yourself, you are the inheritor of the progenitor of civilization. Don't look for a scapegoat, none exist.

@supremeleader102 I want to know why, why could this road not have been created by humans? Is it because humans were all in the stone age? They have found cities in places like Maputo, Mozambique in Africa where they do not know who created it and the ruins are dated 200,000 BCE. Scientists do not know everything, that is something that they have forgotten due to ego and because of ego they do not want to admit that they don't know.

I agree here. They weren't looking specifically for Atlantis, rather for any possible homeland for their "master race". In my opinion, the purpose of this video is much the same as people who come on youtube, look at videos about Atlantis, Biblical stories, etc. and give their reasons why "it isn't real": simply put, they want to publicly discredit the theories that clash with their own, and call those that believe fools.

Yes well the Docu isnt made for youtube but you know. Ill give another example look at the Gauls Rome depicted them as savages while in fact they were a rich sociaty with extencive trade its only resently re-discovered but since all written history bout that period is Roman and ofc they beat the Gauls they made it look like they were superior while they actualy were more equal in many facets. So with the loss of Atlantis nobody can realy tell unless you find it ;)

You entirely miss the point. The unfortunate issue with an Atlantis interpretation is that it marginalizes the people of the great civilizations, such that it suggests that these ancient people could not have built civilizations without the guiding and benevolent hand of some master race.
Like it or not, the ancestors of the indigenous peoples of Latin America, the people we now see cutting our lawns and busing tables, built great civilization.

Im not lifting up the Atlantian Civ, real or fictional. But the entire documentary moves towards Nazism, and that if you go look for Atlantis your a nazi.

It presented evidence about dissimilar language, agriculture, architecture, time frame, etc. & left it to viewers to decide about Atlantis. You say you're not elevating the status of Atlantians but when you argue that indigenous people needed outside help to build pyramids, you are marginalizing them.

True, uncovering the truth about whether or not a civilization existed, Atlantian or otherwise, doesn't necessarily indicate an association w/ a racial superiority agenda. But it's reasonable to assert that seeking to explain, as Himmler did, the technological advances of ancient civilizations by a benevolent Atlantian super-race has potentially negative ramifications.This documentary simply gives a parenthetical warning about such perils as a footnote to the broader topic on the Atlantis myth

There's some skepticism about whether or not Himmler actually searched the Himalayas for evidence of an Atlantian master-race so I'll remain open on this topic. And it's ironic that "a Hebrew treatise on computational astronomy dated to AD 1378/79, alludes to the Atlantis myth..." Personally, I thought the subject was intriguing, but the evidence does not seem to support it. And IMO, it's better to let the facts speak for themselves; and it's far better to place credit where credit is due.
