  • At 3 frames per second, I'm Not surprised it crashed.

  • FSX

  • spanair go from T2 at barajas not t4,,,,T4&T4S is iberia

  • its SAS and the plane its norwegian and i am com from norway det er SAS og flyet er norsk og jeg kommer fra norge

  • The retarded pilots must have been totally zozzeld!

  • the plane rolled to the right not the left :L

  • yes sas rocks

  • You do know that it was a spainair md-80 and not a SAS md-80 right ?

  • Were did you get this airplane from?? =)

  • The engine did not burn, but the flaps and slats were retaidos.

  • this airplane used to lose its front wheel in landing

  • cool make a 911 recreation

  • does anyone actually think they're cool puttin up simulator video's?

  • the same thing happened with Northwest flight 255 you can check it out on Air Crash Investigation Cockpit Chaos

  • Why this Spanair plane was in SAS colours? kkk

  • scandinavian airlines system

  • very laggy video

  • very good, but it's was Spanair, not SAS

  • The trains (2004) and airplanes (2008) in Spain are not save!! What will it be in 2012?!

  • @Naatje09

Spain is save! What happened in 2004 was a terrorist attack, stupid! It was like Twin Towers in USA or like the trains in London. Be careful of what you say! Don't be disrespectful to people who died there because of terrorism ¬¬

  • thats sas (scandinavian airlines) not spanair !!

  • Great recreation of the accident!!!!!!!

  • nice spanair repaint !!!

  • its lagging

  • you have a sas, bit that was a spanair

  • the accident airplane was one of the star alliance md-80s

  • sas

  • The accident was caused because the pilots tried to take off with FLAPS RETRACTED and TOWS didn't work. It appears that TOWS didn't work because the ground sensing equipment was faulty.

The reason why the stall happened so soon was because the wing is not designed to lift at high angles of attack. In this case, around 20º. At that angle of attack and speed, the wing stalls in clean configuration.

  • That's Scandinavian Airlines not Spanair, but I know that Scandinavian owns Spanair

  • @flightstar1 - ground effect depends on the wingspan of the aircraft in question. it is caused by the ground interrupting the formation of wingtip vortices and downwash behind the wing and comes into play within one (1) wingspan height above the ground and is MOST pronounced at a height of 1/2 wingspan. Wingtip vortices are notorious producers of drag as is downwash off the back of the wing. Interfering with their formation DECREASES induced drag,...temporarily increasing performance. Fly on!

  • SAS stands for Special Air Service....an elite group of special operation soldiers from Britain. They've apparently killed the flight crew (and possibly everyone else on board), as there is nobody flying the plane. Crash mystery solved. Spanish transportation authorities can than me later.

  • @Imustfly And also (brainy) stands for Scandinavian Airlanes

  • it hurts me everytime i see this.

  • It was SPANAIR not sas !!!!!! Get it right !!!

  • Please what is the name of the song?

    Thank you.

  • what airplane is that?

  • the spanair crash kind of reminds me of the DC-10 accident in Chicago O'Hare

  • that was not so it was about flaps

  • Amazing footage. I think the plane crashed because there were no people in the cockpit though.

  • Te van a demandar los de SAS

  • SAS is scandinavian airlines

  • System

  • is somebody a good counselor?? cuz like right now am really scared of getting on a plane cuz terrorism is just taking over the world....( even though this was not terrorism)

  • Everyone google "ground effect"

The plane in ground effect will lift off and float within that specific GE area, but once it climbs a few feet above it, the plane will stall and fall down to earth like a brick if the plane has not reached a safe climb speed.

Because of the flaps not being lowered, the plane took off in that ground effect area, but it did not have enough speed for a no flap takeoff. Throw in a hot day, and there you have it.

  • Ground effect is just 10 feet high after that you have no reaction of grond effect...I fly in real life(gliding) and for my exam i need to know what it is ;)

  • is it flight simulator our x-plane?

  • I read they forgot to lower flaps to take off setting, then after take off they PANICKED and 'forgot' again to lower them when all indications of a stall. Bush Pilots have to do it very often to avoid this stall. All pilots should be trained on how to drop flaps if stalling on climb. Engines were good.

  • @CFITOMAHAWK2 they couldn't extend the flaps once the stall happened because they suffered a windstrike on ground within nanoseconds. There are some things I don't understand about this accident... such as them being at the very end of the runway and still stallling so dramatically... look at the security video they released. It is all a bit weird, if you have any insights let me know :-)

  • No, si tus videos so muy buenos.

  • im sure it was an md 80... but sas and spannair is not the same

  • Pues, es muy triste. Los vuelos usualmente son muy seguros.

  • laggy video buy not bad ... i liked it

  • ok this wasnt a real aircraft so why are all of you making a big deal out of it gees! lol

  • typical

  • typical fucking spanish authorities. this aircraft should never have taken off.

  • @anddyx The Spanish authorities didn't have anything to do with the crash. It was pilot error+plus failure of the TOWs alarm system. The plain wasn't properly configured for take off and the alarm system didn't alert the pilots. This type of accident has sadly happened before, in the States and Argentina, etc. By the way, IBERIA for example is one of the airlines with fewer mortal accidents in its jet history, in fact, none since the 60's, so calm down and shut up racist idiot!

  • @amatorynumber iberia has had a number of fatal crashes, although I agree it is a very safe company. one of the worst was near Bilbao, in northern spain, in 1985.

  • On February 19, 1985, Iberia Flight 610, a Boeing 727-256 crashed after hitting a television antenna installed on the summit of Monte Oiz while landing in Bilbao, killing 148 people

  • @amatorynumber Iberia or Air Europa haven´t had any accident in the whole history. Like you have said, the plane wasn´t properly confidured for take off. Flaps and Slats wasn´t enabled.

  • @Jaruro we have some of the safest airline companies in of the world:) rest in peace all of the killed from this Spanair fligh

  • @amatorynumber You are wrong about IBERIA's safety record. They killed 148 at Bilbao in 1985 when a 727 crashed into a radio antenna.

  • okay this crash terrible though it was, Spanair and SAS are one alliance. SAS are in control of Spanair, but Spanish authorities did not carry out correct procedures for an aircraft that was Spanair, which in reality was codeshared with SAS. Spanish authorities always carry out first hand checks on all aircraft which belongs obviously to Iberia.

  • Well, you tried to imatate Spanair's crash in Madrid.......BUT why did you used a SAS plane not a Spanair one????

  • SAS ?

  • IT NOT SPAIN AIR !!!! IT IS SAS !!!

  • @MultiCamShot

sorry but don't understand your english.

  • whats the name of that game ? ?

  • It's the Flight Simulator of Microsoft.I don't know if the version is FS 2004 or FSX.

  • Spanair For4ever !!!

  • I read somewhere that the cause of the accident was that the flaps where not set for Take-Off

    R.I.P. to all the victims

  • OMG lol xDD. nice video

  • Descansen en PAZ ESTAS PERSONAS.... BUEN VIDEO.... LAMENTABLE ACCIDENTE

  • WERE DID YOU GET THE PLANE

  • a trbute to all victims.

  • How did you get this DC-9

  • I apprieciate because I was in Las Palmas, Spain when I was 1...

Also it crashed on my sister's birthday.

  • on flight simulator you can now taxi, thats quality, i haven't brought one for years by the way, your plane used to start on the runway ready for take off.

  • It was star alliance not spanair

  • thats sacandanavian airlines sas

  • well, spanair is part of the sas group, but still it is the wrong airline

  • spanairs parent company is SAS

  • @TeenBoyLifeguard correct

  • @TeenBoyLifeguard Scandinavian Airlines :)

  • @TeenBoyLifeguard You right. Why is SAS in the movie, but in title is SPANAIR???

  • @TeenBoyLifeguard Spanair belongs to SAS

  • I went to the airport this was ment to land at and on the board it said a plane from madrid was canceled. More like exploded

  • its not going to say that though

  • download spanair chite sas gaga

  • Is Spanair a part of the Scandinavian Aviation compnay

  • sas is spanair??

  • spanair is from sas... as they said it was spanish,......

  • ok, spanair, in sas colors =D

  • I'm not sure what prompts people to put music to their FS vids on You Tube. It really does ruin the video with music.

  • not so loving the fps, well done fsx eh lol

    fs = shock = fps

  • fsx

  • WHAT GAME IS IT????

  • it is flight simulator. I have it

  • LoL thats not what happened.

The flaps werent deployed so the aircraft never took off

  • You used a Sas plane not Spain air you aded thet vid on My b-day

  • really cool looking game i want it

  • Lol its 40 bucks now!

  • Game FSX?

  • Cool. What game?

  • It wasn't engine trouble, the flaps weren't set for take off.

  • It was the slats that were not set properly, although it did have a fault with its EGT gauge, but in the end I think it came down to pilot error.

  • no, it was the flaps and slats. neither were set, and when the throttle levers were advanced, there was no waning, because the engineers were trying to fix the EGT gauge you reffered to but accidentaly tripped a circuit breaker, disabling the alarm.

  • where did you get this plane?

    is it freeware?

  • i have him too but i don't remembr where i had him lo sorry

  • 28 ppl survived

  • no, 18

  • exacto

  • what [plane?

  • Did Anybody Live This ?

  • i have fsx deluxe edition and how do u get engine fire? also how do u download planes and realll airline names PLZ READ THIS AAND HEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!

  • I have the program My Traffic X to get real time traffic, and for the engine fire go to the failures section in the FSX.

  • i had that. it didnt work on vista so i sent $40 down the drain

  • nice video were you get iberia

  • wherw i did't see one

  • Spanair is SAS ;)

  • ist was spanair you flew with sas!?!?!

  • in flight simulator x how can you make an engine on fire when you are in the air

  • alt + options + realism + failures

  • in airplanes-failures

  • SUPERB animation, great music, CRASHMAN2 gives 5 stars.... the music topped it off. Cause? Takeoff flaps & slats NOT extended, warning horn alarm system for this MAY have been disabled accidentally by the mechs disabling a known false temp alarm... Fine work! Que loco, no?

  • that would be a shame if true as it would be essentially a repeat of the NW MD82 crash in DTW in 1987.

  • how did the engine catch on fire?

  • where did you get that md 80 for flight simulator

  • is that a video game?

  • Its MS Flight Simulator 2002 or 2004.

  • is it a pc game? game console game?

  • Its Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and is it a PC Game.

  • @quitosietecuatro where did you get the plane? plz?

  • It's FSX because you can see the differences in the cockpit from the 2004 and 2002 version . :)

  • That MD82 has the SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES livery and not spanair!

  • Sometimes Spanair is operated my Scandinavian airliners

    Regards.

  • From wikipedia: ''Spanair company is owned 94% by the SAS Group ''

  • No thats Scandinavian Airlines

  • First of all, the aircraft crashed on the right side of the runway, not on the left like you are illustrating in your video. And the cause of the accident, according to preliminary investigations reports, is that the flaps were not fully extracted or extracted at all. Where did it go wrong? Management operative failure or mechanical failure?

  • Correction:

The Spanair airplane crashed on the right side of the runway - not on the left as you illustrates with your vid. The aircraft crashed dued to flaps not fully extracted or extracted at all (preliminary investigations reports) Management operative failure och mechanical failure?

  • It was codeshare flight and operated by SAS fleet.

  • Spanair is a subsidiary to Sas who owns 94.7 % of Spanair. The flight was also a Star Alliance codeshare operated on behalf of Lufthansa as LH 2554. Seven passengers with Lufthansa tickets had reservations. Today it is unknown how many Lufthansa passenger boarded the plane.

  • spanair eh? hmm looked like SAS to me

  • SAS own Spanair so they share aircraft!

  • No they don´t! SAS got their own planes and so does Spanair.

  • what game or simulator?

  • it's Flights Simulator X, I think

  • Yes it is!

  • whats the song?

  • U2 - Stuck in a moment

  • um, idon mean any offense, but aren't ur strobe lights on kind of early? But, um other than that great vidoe 4/5:)

  • Way too laggy..

  • no wonder it crashed.... no pilots!

  • HA!!!!!

  • It was due Flaps failure, as the investigator said in his report, the flaps were uneven at take. RIP for all who died

  • There was no engine fire and if there had been that would not have cuased it to crash

  • there is a spanair MD-82 on the Simviation Fs2004 (Newist) page and it works for fsx :)
