  • The site will be a parking lot for the next 30 years. Mark my words. Nothing will be built on the site. Typical New Haven. Typical DumbStefano!

  • The Veterans probably now hate New Haven.

  • taking away this building was the dumbest decision ever, new haven used to rock, hartford is nothing but a pissy immigrant ghetto ghost town

  • the coleusium always sucked

  • @sfadam your mother sucked

  • I was, like, right next to you. There was such a long delay.

  • man that was depressing to watch last time I was in there was in 2000 with my brother and sister and my mother we saw wizard of oz on ice RIP new haven coliseom it was like a studios

  • Hell I didn't knpw the New Haven Coliseum was imploded

Shit its been years since I was back home in Connecticut

  • @Wheeljack35

You're not missing a whole lot. 34 homicides last year, and named the FBI's 4th most dangerous city in America!

  • This is a good vid. And Ironman, your'e wrong, it wasn't all that damaged. New Haven could of had an easy job fixing it up.

  • Hey Ironman I guess you are on Destefano's payroll ya dope. The building was fully functional to the point the hockey team wanted a 5 year lease!!!!! Destefano hated sports and hated the building that is the ONLY reason it was brought down.

  • All you people who say they should have left it standing, Do you know why it was blown up? It was rusted beyond repair and falling apart. If you miss it so much you can try to find the piece in the Beijing Olympic Stadium, it was recycled into it.

  • I think your confused. That's Hartford Civic Center.

  • no thats new haven colisuem

  • I was replying to another user about something else, not this demolition

  • Wow thats great!!! Take down a historic building that brought us wondeful events for a parking lot!!! Who needs hockey and concerts when we can have the Long Wharf Theatre!!! Destefano should get another 50 years in office!!!

    NEW HAVEN= NO CIVIC PRIDE

If all you people that showed up and cheered that day actually showed up and supported the place it would still be standing

  • @blchrrf39 Winnipeg Arena is a parking lot too!

  • Hey, I think you filmed my dad and I. Why the hell did they have to blow it up? So many memories...

  • Should've just rebuilt it.

  • LONG LIVE NH HOCKEY

  • I miss this building the government should have left it it was a great trademark. Now its a fucking parking lot??!! Asshole of a government

  • blame the democrats

  • Good Riddance!

  • Somehow I'll miss that cavernous ugly building.

  • Good stuff..it's cooolldddddd

  • Cool video... Sad to see it go, even if it wasn't the best venue for a concert, it had a lot of heart. Saw some great shows there over the years, including my first Grateful Dead show, twenty-five years ago today.

  • All of you morons who cheered this are idiots. We lost a great building that served the community entertainment and was loved by thousands. Now we have a parking lot, clap at that.

  • i was all the way in front. dads friends were blowin it up so i got front row where it was blocked off

  • Van Hagar Live Without A Net was filmed there, which was somewhat odd considerin the bad accoustics...

  • It was like a fuckin hour late too!!! I was freezin my ass off!!! and I got really bad lung problems for a while from all the dust.

  • and with that the memories come crashing down, anyone remember then concerts were 6.50 to 8.50 a seat. i seen my first concert there, kiss 1/76. maybe they put up a shopping mall, now thats intertainment.

  • I was right in the front of the coliseum, the second it imploded i was covered in dust, it was amazing@!!

  • That's cool, I live at the apartment building across the street from it.

  • That was really cool ! I went to my first concert there. The place had awful acoustics anyway. Besides that it was a memorable venue.. Lots of partying took place there.

  • I was in Cancun at the time so I missed the implosion.

    Anyhoo, Robert Acquarulo says hi!!

  • Nice video! I was standing right near you early on, but then I went down one level and it was way warmer than up on the roof, and we stood right along with rail for a great view. Watch in the implosion video by CTBob to see where we ended up. Plus, I shot with two cameras, which was fun. But damn, it got cold up on that roof!

  • very good pics I was almost right next to you. See you at rent time

  • nice job!
