Actually most of his redcoats were german mercenaries and let us not forget that his victories were partly due to his alliance with Prince Eugene, a great French tactician, who has decided to joint the Austrian side just because Louis XIV had refused to grant him the direction of an army.
As corrupt and as greedy as a pig but you could never fault the loyalty he commanded of his troops and the courage he aspired in them! Furthermore, his tactics were quite phenomenal, double encirclement ftw!
John Churchill was greater then napoleon. He turned the British army from rabble, the joke army of Europe, to the most feared army in the world. After Churchill, the british redcoats were the most deadly infantry in Europe.
