yeah the I-pod and mp3 features of the cdj 400s are nice but the cdj 1000 MKIII is a better vinyl emulator. Effects and looping functions can also be found on the DJM 800 mixer. Inserting an EFX machine beside the DJM 600 will do the same trick.

you're right 'bout the vinyl part. the 400 i think is more for "non scratchers" than for scratchers or for people who barely scratch. about the FX, for instance sounds the roll better on 400 than on EFX

i never scratches but still i love the 800 and 1000 because of the control you get with the jog wheel. the effects can you get from the djm's and effect units another thing to love the 100 for is the on the fly cue points. you can mess around allot with those.

First record: electro/ dirty house

Second record: oldschool (kind of hardhouse from the early 90's: that time no difference was made between house and techno)

Third record: tech house (cross-over between house and techno)

Fourth record: oldschool (early house/techno)

For the US: houseclassics = NY garage

For Holland: houseclassics = early rave/oldschool/techno

you have to understand that electronic music evolves. all the time. everytime some 17 year old producer comes out with a new sound, the sound changes. that's what we love about electronic music - that it updates itself every year or so (probably faster now because of the mp3 blogs). it's an amazing genre in that sense, nothing like rock music.

Classic house in its most narrow definition is the mellow 1988 - 1992 stuff like Marshall Jefferson - Move your Body, Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb it in, Joe Smooth - Promised Land etc etc. Mylo - In your Arms is NOT a house classic, neither is AVH - Professional Widow. AVH - Witch Doktor is a house classic for sure.

Spending money on high-standard dj equipment (Pioneer, Allen&Heath, etc.) is definitely not a waste of money. The gear will keep its economical value because of the durability and brandname. But when you are a beginner, the best way to start is buying some second hand or low/mid budget gear and then find out if that will do the trick for you, and if you like dj-ing at all. If you want to play cd's, for example try the Vestax cdx-05 and a Numark dxm-09 mixer or something like that.

It's how you see it (or hear it), the original Mylo track is 130 BPM, but the oldschool track(s) that follow(s) is/are original 135, and sound better at that speed I think

Yeah I didn't dj for a while and I didn't install the monitor properly so there was a delay in the sound during the first mix. When playing live (not at home) the sound is much intenser which makes mixing much easier as well.
