  • Oink, oink, says Karl Rove.

  • JOHN MCCAIN INVENTED THE INTERNET!?!?!

but seriously, this video kicked ass xD

    5 stars

  • BYE BYE...jjmatt04...you stay here on this video and wait for her to come back, ok?

She's been sabotaged. You obviously don't now; or have never worked in an office. SHE'S DONE: STICK A FORK IN HER. SHE'S DONE...AND SO AM I! BYE BYE...jjmatt04

If you can't understand office politics, how will you ever understand NATIONAL politics.

OFFICE POLITICS is filthy. Office politics will keep her out of the 2012 campaign. She doesn't work well and play with others.

    She lost!

    YOU lost...move on!

  • I'd argue that you are the one that can't move on, seeing as how you're posting comments when no one has said anything to you. At least I'm responding to people, while you just talk bullshit to no one. Who's the one that can't leave this video alone?

  • She thought she could turn the tables on them; that doesn't make her a gawd awful person, What makes it bad was she's out her league. By the time she knew it; it was way too late. This was a "shill/sham" campaign. The goal wasn't to win. The goal was to make a showing. The Republicans need the four years.

Much like an in the cellar ball club needs a "1st round draft pick" and the off season to re-group. THIS GAME HAS A 4YR OFF-SEASON FOR THE LOSER. By the time 4yrs has past America will have....

  • Look, I looked up the whole crowd thing and let's face it, McCain's rallies were very low. It just showed no one wanted to listen to his message. More wanted to listen to Palin's rantings (or look at her, lol) than McCain!! But you saw the rallies Obama had and you knew who everyone wanted to see and wanted to hear a new message.

  • Wait, people really complain about Fox being biased, then listen to this shit? I was at Palin's rally here in Raleigh, NC where the official number of supporters was put at 5,000. What they don't mention is that while 5,000 may have been in the auditorium, about 5,000 were turned away because they couldn't fit. So, maybe McCain is overexaggerating some numbers, but it would seem to me that the media does a pretty decent job of underexaggeration.

  • jjmatt04:

IN regards to FAUX NOISE and msm NEWSWEEK, consider this; what is more disturbing than Sarah Palins choice to be used like a $2.00 whore; is the fact that both NEWSWEEK and FAUX NOISE is hiding behind their need to protect the confidentiality of their source information , and was willing to allow this country to go down in flames, should the un-thinkable were to have happened. FAUX NOISE(FOX) knew this information as early as mid-September. They knew it, and sat on it.

  • BOTH medium's knew what the Republican's knew!

    Sad, pathetic woman.

    Ethically challenged.

    Geographically challenged.

    Policy challenged.

Sarah Palin: mentally vapid sacrificial lamb.

Im not usually a conspiracy theorist; I just have to wonder as to whether this was the original plan, all along?

Leave the country in disarray, prop up Grampa McCain for a 3rd and final run, select what could be the absolute worst Candidate for a VP; all so the Republican party could have time to re-group.

  • What you said has zero relevance to what I wrote. But, since we're on the topic, let's discuss what you falsely charge. How was Sarah used like a "$2 whore?" She held her own in her debates, motivated the Republican base like no VP before her, brought in huge crowds, and, whether you like it or not, gave women someone to be proud of. She has more executive experience than any of the candidates, in that she actually was in charge of her own state. She fought corruption on all fronts.

  • And, as for your charge that she is "geographically challenged," let me remind you that Obama said that he had visited 57 states and still needed to go to Alaska and Hawaii. In my opinion, that is slightly more disturbing than not knowing your middle eastern countries. And I have no idea what you are talking about her being "ethically challenged." If you are talking about troopergate, then actually do research on it, and see if you don't agree with what she did.

  • As to OBAMA: Produce THE TAPE: or supply a source.

The sources supplied on PALIN are her OWN *RNC PARTY*

The ethics I refer to R those relating to that famous bridge: "THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE" (aka: Gravina Island Bridge)

YOU may not agree, but that's what I get from this story that continues to develop.

This is a MOOT discussion; because while America is having a "love fest" with PALIN, now; the RNC is systematically destroying her. Her 15 minutes are up.

Get over her: the RNC already has!

  • Ok, here is your tape on Obama...watch?v=EpGH02DtIws

Do you know who are the only people giving these "anonymous sources" credit? Democrats. Republicans don't care what these sources say because the least effective sources are the anonymous ones. They're dismissed as liars in my book.

The "bridge to nowhere" was an infrastructure project. It would open up access to more people and make it easier to get to the airport. Was it the best use of money? No. Porkbarrel? Probably not.

  • I've seen the video; a tired Obama stumbled while trying to explain that he had only 1 more state to visit after the one he was in, not including Alaska and Hawaii, which his staff wouldn't let him visit yet. He screws up and says 57 seven where he meant to say 47, which is clear to anyone with half a brain watching it. Palin supposedly asked Rep. staffers prepping her if South Africa was a separate country or just the southern part of the country of Africa.

  • Jjmatt04: MY PONIT OF REFERENCE IS: Your opening line:

Wait, people really complain about FOX being biased, then listen to this shit.

That FAUX NIOSE was biased! And I gave you the exact reason why the remain biased.

I also pointed out that NEWSWEEK a MSM magazine was guilty of this too..

They each acted as profiteers,. They knew Palin was being used. They knew and kept it secret!

They used her, and are now setting about to destroy her politically.

    Quit overacting and over reaching!

  • I'll apologize, I wasn't paying much attention when I wrote my line about your having an irrelevant argument.

I have to ask, how was Palin being used? She was qualified (Governor), and she was charismatic. Isn't that what all President's look for in their VPs? I mean, we all know that Biden isn't charismatic, but he is qualified. So, in this sense, every President "uses" their VP to further their appeal. And lets face it, the left is trying to hurt Palin much more than these "sources."

  • TY, jjmatt04:

She's very charismatic! And if she was applying for the Booster Club, that would be fine. Look; I dpn't think she is as academically stupid as she let's on.

C'mon: We've seen her Schools. it's not a listing of Junior Colleges. It wasn't HARVARD... but for her to have DEGREED

at the University level and she NOT know that AFRICA was CONTINENT and not a COUNTRY: BULLSHIT!!

Heres what I think played out...

  • When did she let on that she was "academically stupid?" Again, quoting a mistake she made while talking about Africa does not prove that Palin is stupid. People hate that she winked and tried to be as down-to-earth as possible when she addressed the public, and they mistake this for stupidity, which is quite frankly stupid.

If a few mistakes are enough to make you ineligible for office, then Joe Biden should be banned from the US. Neither Biden or Obama have room to talk about Palin.

  • She saw an opening, and she took it and ran with it. She knew from the out set she was a "SHILL". They knew it, and I believe she was told up front. So "shill" sounds better than whore...fine: ok. Her Problem is she thought she could out fox them. She underestimated how cunning the RNC would & could be. This ain't school yard politics, she was called up from the minors. If she choked it was because she wouldn't prepare. She thought a smile, the click of her teeth and a wink would do it for her.

  • What is so difficult for you to understand? Palin was a mayor. Then she ran for Governor. She was elected. She has been referred to as the most popular governor of Alaska ever. You don't get that title by being pretty. She has been extremely effective in Alaska, and it was just a matter of time before someone brought her into the national spotlight. That is NOT a political ploy. She has been tested time and time again, and has always held her own. That is VP material.

  • DO YOU WORK...IN AN OFFICE????

Do you NOT understand the game of "office politics?"

Hun, let her go; she's had her 15 mins of fame! She could win the nobel prize for PEACE...she aint comming back!

Stick a fork in her: SHE'S DONE!

HONEY, This isn't personal...it's just business!

Haven't you ever seen an office sabatouer at work??? She's been left for dead....the got what they needed DESPITE your undying love and loyalty!

  • Well, I guess when all else fails, you just have to go back to your unproven talking points. FuckinNutz, you're hopeless, although you do represent the attitude that Democrats have taken. Policies and experience don't matter...the election is solely a popularity contest. If you win, then its great (as long as nothing happens while you're in office), and if you lose, well, there goes your 15 minutes. See, the Republican party doesn't play that. Your party can keep your bullshit politics.

  • That whole: "I can see Russia from my house"

    What a freaking crock!

Basically her "OPPORTUNISTIC" ways caught up with her. She was like a Gambler let loose in Las Vegas: and the fever of national politics gripped hard.

She really doesn't do "office-politics" well. Every worker worth their salt can recite their COMPANIES MISSION STATEMENT. She didn't even bother to learn her's =THE BUSH DOCTORINE= and those weren't just words to memorize; it's the fundamental premise of the BOSS's policy.

  • You realize that those words were never said by Palin right? That was Tina Fey. But hey, I'm glad you did your research. Palin said that from an island in Alaska, you can see Russia, which is true..

And last time I checked, Bush wasn't her boss. How much does it honestly matter whether she knew the specifics of "The Bush Doctrine?" After all, it is left up to interpretation. There is no book that outlines it. If you asked 50 people what the Doctrine was, you'd get 50 different answers.

  • ... America will have forgotten these past 8 lousy yrs. The Republicans will have bought the time they need to cultivate a "TRUE PRESIDENTIAL TICKET". i will guarantee PALIN won't be on it. TWO books are due out just before Christmas on this Election. These will be from 2 embedded reporters of the campaign. PALIN will as a eliminated as a prospect for a NATIONAL candidate. IT's not personal jjmat04; it's just business. Let go, move on; get over her. I guarantee the RNC already has.

  • "8 lousy years." I think we have differing opinions here. Bush kept America safe, he put into effect some of the largest tax cuts ever, increased aid to Africa by 8.7 billion, banned partial birth abortion, and got rid of Saddam Hussein, to name just a few. He's made mistakes, but when it all comes down to it, Bush was far from a horrible President. And again, just because some McCain aides didn't like Palin does not mean that the RNC doesn't. You haven't heard the last from her.

  • Yes, 8 lousy years. I hate the "Bush kept us safe" argument, b/c there is no evidence to prove it. After the first attempt on the WTC, Clinton kept us safe then, because foreign terrorists didn't attack us here either. Should we argue about who did a better job? Yhe only concrete plans that they can prove they foiled was the Fort Dix attack, where knuckleheads were going to sneak onto one of the largest military bases dressed as pizza deliverers and blow it up. And the FBI stopped that one.

  • You can easily argue that the fact that you haven't heard of any terrorist plots is proof enough that Bush's policies have kept us safe. There have been 19 terrorist plots which have been disrupted between Sept 2001 and Nov 2007. Granted, some of these plots weren't on the same scale as 9-11, but they were still serious threats. As for Bill Clinton, he had his share of terrorist attacks (granted not on American soil, but on American personnel). USS Cole, bombing of U.S. embassies, etc.

  • AND that's what happens when greed and power get in the way of ethics and morality.

I have no sympathy for PALIN; because even tho she was naive she knew the plot.

She sold her dreams and future political aspirations like a $2 whore. She thought was nickel slick, and vastly underestimated how devious, and deceitful members of her own RNC Party could would be.

Palin is a not a victim, collaboration precludes her from being a victim.

POWER CORRUPTS. ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.

  • All polling groups said that Biden won the VP debate. Also, polling showed that women across the board, women of all parties held a large unfavorable view of Palin. And yes, Palin was the only governor among the top 4, but having executive experience means little if you are not a very good executive. She claims to have fought corruption (like a good maverick) but the records show she did not. She left Wasilla in worse shape than when she was elected. Not a great candidate at all.

  • I never said Palin won the debates, I said she held her own, which she did. Every poll that I have seen said that she beat expectations and some polls even said she swayed independents. She made a favorable impression. And your comment about women having a "large unfavorable view of Palin" is completely false. Some people didn't like Palin, but not a vast majority.

How does a "not very good" governor keep an approval rating of between 70 and 90%? She obviously did something right.

  • Okay, if you meant that she did better than the obscenely low expectations set for her in the VP debate (basically, that she stand up, speak English and not break down and cry), yes she did hold her own. The polls taken after the actual debate showed Biden winning it outright and Palin swaying no one. THe CBS one actually had some independents going Democrat b/c of her performance. Among women, according to the polls, 74% Republicans like her, 54% of Independents & 81% of Dems. don't like her.

  • As for her approval rating in Alaska, she got every resident there a rebate from the Oil Companies for over $2400. If my family lived there, we'd clear almost $15,000 a year. I'd love her too. But oddly, she went from just over 80% approval before running for VP to now down to a "pretty good" 63%. Maybe some Alaskans learned more about their governor than they knew before.

  • How can you say that she didn't hold her own? She was on the offensive nearly the whole time. She even went and took shots at Biden. When it all came down to it, Biden was on the defensive for most of the debate. How he ended up winning the polls is beyond me. And your numbers are hardly as bad as you made them appear. Of course Democrats hate her, Independents are probably split 50-50 (with the margin of error), and Republicans like her a lot. That is not a "large unfavorable view."

  • Now as for her approval rating in Alaska, yes, the rebate checks did help. But I'm pretty sure that her fighting against the corruption in Alaska probably helped a bit too. She pushed for ethics investigations on members of both parties. She even put the former governors private jet up for sale on ebay. She didn't endorse Don Young's (a fellow Republican) bid for congress, instead supporting his challenger. That shows some serious leadership. And her popularity is at 68% in Alaska.

  • I went and found the same report you did: on Oct. 1st, her approval rating was 68%. November 6th, it was 64% (not 63% as I wrote, sorry). She pushed for ethics investigation with her on Council, the one she loaded with high school friends and allies, the same one that said she didnt do anything wrong in "Troopergate" although the legislative ethics bureau found that she did (remember, the one she lied about vindicating her), And then she tried to get everyone to call it "Tasergate".

  • As for ethics investigations, how about all those focusing on her;

    - while running for lieutenant governor, she violated state ethics laws by using her mayor's office and city funds to campaign. Then had the gall to complain about another candidate doing it later.

-As governor, took tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts, including to trips to the lower 48 that she didnt report

-had her staff find a position for an old school friend

  • (cont.) she campaigned against tightening mining safety regulations while her hubby Todd was taking trips with the head of a mining company

    -"troopergate" of course

-she ordered staff members to ignore subpeonas from the State Legislature (said Legis. are said to issue criminal citations against her aids when they re-convene next)

-her billing the state for nights spent at home to collect the per deim for travel

    - her putting a personal chef on payroll under a fake job so she could cook for her.

  • You mean, she was repeating talking points the whole time. She also avoided questions (and admitting so) that she could not handle to get back on message (and if Gwen Iful had done her job, she would have called Palin on that. Biden won b/c he answered what was asked of him and didn't sound like a wind up doll. And the "Joe Sixpack" and "Hockey Moms" and winking might have played well to the lowest common denominator, but intelligent people wanted to her an intelligent candidate

  • According to numbers among several different websites, her popularity ranges between 64 and 68%... but moving on. And investigations by no means prove guilt. When she is actually convicted of any of these allegations, then you will have a case. If she is guilty of any of these, then she should definitely apologize. But at the same time, there does seem to be intense scrutiny on Palin, while virtual silence on any other candidates. For example, Obama came out with papers that said that...

  • (cont.) said that he had taken money for speaking at different functions, while being a legislator. The thing is, this is both illegal and unethical under Illinois law. All in all, on his tax forms, he earned $50,000+ from these engagements, with another $100,000 that is suspicious. Again, this isn't to take away anything if Palin were to be found guilty, but just keep in mind, almost all politicians have very questionable practices. And being that Palin hasn't been convicted of anything...

  • (cont.) she has kept a very clean slate compared with the number of allegations. Let's face it, if other politicians were put through this scrutiny, they'd be fired quick.

About troopergate, do you know the specifics? Walt Monegan had a history of being very detrimental to Palin's administration. Monegan held his own press conferences, bypassed necessary channels to receive funding on numerous occasions, and took an unauthorized trip to Washington. The man deserved to be fired.

  • Oh yeah, and Palin's ex brother-in-law was hardly a saint. He tasered his stepson, threatened Palin's family, and was physically abusive to his wife. Hardly trooper behavior huh?

Biden repeated his "talking points" just as much, thats what debates have become. Palin came across more confident and at times more knowledgeable. And putting faces on the middle class (ie Joe Sixpack) isn't a stupid ploy, it helps the candidate connect with American families, which she managed to do.

  • Okay, you have, as they say, drank the kool-aid and I will never change your mind on Palin. If you ever feel open-minded, do some research. See how many lies she told (and told and re-told even after the truth came out) while on the campaign trail. See how almost everything in the infamous Anne Killenany e-mail has turned out to be true. See how many incidents of "questionable behavior" both big and small she has been involved in. I'm not saying you should hate her...

  • (cont) but there is no way you can say that she is such a moral and ethical person who is lily-white. I would like to hope that you could see that she is in no way capable of holding the highest office in the land, but you seem pretty smitten with her. You actually believe that she won the debate. You betcha.

  • Yes, her brother-in-law does appear to be a scumbag and should have been fired. But Moneghan ran up against the State Troopers Union which made it almost impossible for him to do so. But that didn't stop Palin and First Dude Todd from abusing position and hassling Moneghan. Look up how Palin fired her police chief in Wasilla to see the beginnings of her abuses of power.

  • I'm sure that, judging solely by what you have said, that you are an Obama supporter. For any Obama supporter to accuse anyone of having "drank the kool-aid" is insane. Obama has lied so many times that now he has said publicly that there is no way that he can deliver on the promises he made. Everything I have said, I have researched. I researched everything that you said, so that I could understand where you were coming from. Everything that you accused Palin of, I googled. I want to...

  • know where you're coming from. She has lied, I never said she was "lily white," but compared to the vast majority of politicians, she is pretty damn good. Smitten may be a little strong of a word...I like what she stands for and think that she has been unfairly portrayed. As of now, yes, I would support her if she ran for office. If a community organizer is qualified enough for President, why not a Governor?

  • Okay, I have just realized I was arguing with a child here. You say that you are willing to debate, but you are not really. Your final sentence in the last post proves it: instead of trying to make out that she is qualified for office, you have to take a shot at Obama with "community organizer". If you want to debate, point out what exactly she stands for and how has she been unfairly portrayed. And do it without directly quoting from right-wing blogs.

  • Was he not a community organizer? HE touted that as experience. Don't try to play victim here. I mean, I wasn't the one who initiated the personal attacks on people being close minded, or that those who supported Palin were "the lowest common denominator." As for how she has been unfairly attacked, troopergate is a great starting point. The clothes situation is another good one (she didn't ask for them). The way that she has been pegged as stupid and incompetent. And the list goes on.

  • Yes, he was a community organizer, but he was also a Senator before winning the election. If I had said "If a sports broadcaster is qualified to be Vice-President..." you would have been up in arms about me not showing her respect. I also said that her winking and "you betcha" in the debate played well to the lowest common denominator, I did not say that all the McCain/Palin supporters were that crowd. "Troopergate" is a great example of why she should be attacked.

  • The Branchflower report found that she did abuse her authority be pressing Moneghan to fire Wooten. Palin, her hubby and staffers put constant pressure on him to get rid of Wooten. Her staff opened up Wooten's private Disability File and then tried to use that to get Wooten fired. When Moneghan did not fire Wooten (and his hands were tied by the State Police Union on this one) he was fired, but after they had already picked his successor.Palin appointed Chuck Kopp to replace him. Not only is...

  • Kopp an old family friend of Palin's, but he is also referred to as a "rising star in the Alaskan Christian Conservative movement". Which is all the more ironic when one finds out that he has a history of sexual harrassment. Palin claims not to have known about the harrassment, even though it is in his employment file. Guess she didn't vet him too thoroughly. Less than a month into the job, Kopp had to resign. And he got a compensation package of $10,000. Moneghan got $0. Palin would...

  • ...eventually claim that she fired Moneghan for not meeting job performance standards. But he and other Cabinet members state that Palin never set such standards for their agencies, and Palin's people have nothing to show that they did. She also claimed that Moneghan was insubordinate because he would not slash the State Police Budget. He showed her that it would be impossible to do so b/c the troopers were stretched too thin, fuel costs had rocketed and crime had steeply grown in rural areas.

  • She also claimed that he tried to make trips to Washington on the State Budget. He was going to D.C. to seek federal funds for an initiative to combat sexual assault crimes. Emails brought up in the Investigation showed that Palin's Chief of Staff Ruaro knew about the reason for the trip and signed off on it. What Troopergate proved finally was that the Governor of AK can fire Cabinet members at will, but that Palin abused her authority by making it personal. And whether you want to believe...

  • If Palin had said, "I've got EXECUTIVE experience because I was a sports broadcaster," then I'd be very critical of her as well. Think about it. A Senator is not as demanding a job as Governor, and yet you seem to like to downplay this role. I'm certainly not saying that being a Senator isn't experience enough to be President, but being Senator for only 143 days...well, thats not enough. And the way you worded your "lowest common denominator" came across as an attack on all Palin supporters.

  • And skipping down to the last comment about not bypassing channels, it doesn't matter if he didn't receive the funding, the fact still remains that he went behind Palin's back. He made the attempt, which still makes him guilty. Just because someone attempts to commit murder doesn't mean that they aren't guilty of some crime. His behavior was more than enough of a reason for him to be fired. The fact that he didn't fire the brother-in-law becomes immaterial... he still wasn't fit for the job.

  • Kopp may not have been the best choice for a replacement, but everyone makes mistakes, and Palin isn't immune from this. As for his sexual harrassment, I'm going to do some research on that and get back to you. However, a mistake in your past (depending on the severity) shouldn't be enough to ruin your chances at getting jobs. As for most of the rest, you have a disgraced ex-trooper vs. a popular Governor's word. Which would you give the benefit of the doubt to?

  • Wait a minute! You are going to label him a bad guy (and make an analogy to an attempted murderer) because Moneghan wanted to go to D.C. to try and get Federal funding to combat sexual assault crimes? And he "went behind her back" by requesting, and receiving permission, from her chief of staff to do so. Yes, he "wasn't fit for the job" b/c he followed procedure in requesting travel funds and tried to help sexual assault victims. Again, she really didn't need a reason to fire him b/c Cabinet...

  • ...Members serve at the discretion of the Governor, but to use this as justification is just petty. And for you to equate it to attempted murder is shocking. She didn't like how he handled the job and that was that. It was her way or the highway. As for Koop, his sexual harrassment case and suspension while police chief in Kenai(sp?) are a matter of public record. It was in his personnel file and had been reported in the papers. If Palin didn't know, she's either lying or did a shitty job of...

  • ...checking him out before appointing him to a Cabinet position. And yes, some mistakes should not ruin the rest of your life, but some should follow you around if only to make sure they do not happen again. "(Y)ou have a disgraced ex-trooper vs. a popular Governor's word. Which would you give the benefit of the doubt to?" What is this, high school? Oh, I forgot; you're 19. Because she's got a high popularity rating, she must be telling the truth. Then why did we just bother with an election?

  • Obama was beating McCain in popularity polls and Q ratings back in June. Think of all the money they could have saved if popularity was all that mattered. As for Moneghan being disgraced, says who? He was fired, but Palin was found to have abused her authority. Any research into the matter shows that this was more a battle of ego than job performance: Moneghan for thinking he should do whatever it took for the people's safety and Palin thinking that she had to be obeyed no matter what.

  • He is a bad guy. The man didn't just have one isolated case of insubordination. That can be forgiven (especially considering the circumstances). And you know that in no way was I comparing him to an attempted murderer, I was saying that making an attempt at crime still counts as criminal activity. If you don't like that analogy, we can use attempted robbery. For someone who seems to be educated, you sure seem to jump to conclusions awfully quick. And again, there were many other reasons...

  • that he was fired. I feel like I've had to repeat this about 10 times now, because you keep arguing against one particular case. Even if this was a questionable reason, then there were at least three other reasons for his being let go. You also realize that he was not suspended as police chief but rather from his "supervisory role" in the investigation. That comes directly from the Daily Kos, hardly a website that wants to let anyone pertaining to Palin off the hook. He made a mistake...

  • and now he is paying for it with his reputation. Also, this case has been expunged from his personnel records. And I will agree with your statements about mistakes. But here is where my problem comes in. This is a very simple question, not one based off popularity necessarily, but rather the occupation and integrity of those people involved. On one side, you have a disgraced ex-trooper who has severely injured all his credibility. On the other side, you have a Governor who has national...

  • accolades and who has been praised for being a great leader. She has an incredibly high approval rating (which isn't based on looks alone) and has yet to be convicted of any crimes. Who do you trust? Don't give me your bullshit about high school popularity contests, who would you honestly give the benefit of the doubt to? And your last sentence destroys your credibility, at least for me. I'll guarantee if it was Obama or Biden instead of Palin, you'd be all over Moneghan.

  • First off, I am educated. I hold two degrees and a third diploma from an Army AIS(yes, that makes me a veteran). I was not "jump(ing) to conclusions" when I commented on you comparing Moneghan's trying to go to D.C. to raise funds to attempted murder. That's what you wrote. Now you think changing it to attempted robbery makes it a better analogy. Simply, in what we are discussing here, Moneghan's attempt to go to D.C. to raise funds to combat criminal sexual assaults in Alaska, he did not,...

  • ...I repeat, Did Not commit or attempt to commit a crime. He requested the funds for the trip, had them approved and was set to go but was fired before he went. He did not abuse procedure, he did not falsify any documents, he did not break a law. Palin simply did not like the idea of him going for federal funds, no matter what they were intended for. There are incidents of what can be termed insubordination. The fights over the State Trooper budget and his discussing them with the press...

  • could be called insubordination, but when you look at what he was fighting for in those budgets, no sane person could call him a bad guy. He was fighting to make sure that the Troopers got the same cost-of-living raise as all other state employees who belong to unions got (they wound up with a 5% raise while everyone else got a 5.5% raise) and he was fighting to make sure the budget allowed the Troopers to keep the citizens safe. Despite increased rural crimes, increased drug and...

  • ...alcohol related crimes and rising fuel costs, Palin not only wanted the budget cut, but more troopers hired. Moneghan simply told her that it couldn't be done. He said "Thanks, but no thanks" to her request. Grounds for dismissal, maybe: makes him a bad guy, no way. "You realize he was not suspended as police chief...", He was not a police chief. He had been an Anchorage police officer for 33 yrs, the last 5 as chief. He resigned as police chief to take the PSC job.

  • BTW, I hate debating in these little chunks of 500 characters. Palin said when she let him go that he "was not being a team player on the new budget". Then came all of the hubbub about Wooten and the family pressure, so more and more she and her office has said that there were all these other reasons for him to be let go, like the whole flap about him going to D.C. that we have argued about. But reports did a little digging (very little needed) to find out that he was in the clear...

  • as far as any wrongdoing on that. Palin just didn't like it. Then it was leaked that they butted heads over the Sylvia Ivanoff law. On the surface, hearing that he opposed this law, I was taken aback. It seems like a good idea to me. But again, a little research, you find that he opposed a law like that being built on this particular case, where a Nome police officer(not one of his Troopers) was convicted of murder in a very flimsy case and you can see where Moneghan was coming from.

  • I'm starting to think you are just looking for something to get up in arms about. I never said you were not educated, I said you seemed educated. I appreciate what you have done for our country. That doesn't mean that we cannot disagree. You are "jumping to conclusions" by making the assumption that I have put attempted murder on the same level as attempts (and some acts) of insubordination. Why else would you find my comments "shocking?" OK, and insubordination, regardless of one's...

  • intentions, is still insubordination. You don't know all the circumstances surrounding these proposed budgets, and neither do I. Regardless, his actions were arguably worth being fired for. Ethically, he wasn't much better. He released a private letter that he had written to Palin on the topic of the budget. Hardly someone you'd want to keep around the office. He also held press conferences to push his own agendas, no matter how noble some may think they are. He did bypass normal channels

  • OK, this gets a little harder with you jumping ahead of me in these blocks. Forgive me for wanting to stress my education, but I felt a little slighted there. And no matter who you parse it, you did make an analogy between his trip to DC for a good cause to attempted murder, then attempted robbery. Your examples are felonies, mine was an approved funding trip. Neither of us will ever know what was said in those meetings on budgets b/w Palin and Moneghan. Maybe they were yelling and screaming,

  • Maybe he called her "a dumb c*nt" or she called him a "motherf..". Maybe they were oil and water and it would never have worked out anyhow even if Wooten had moved to Texas. All I'm saying is that Palin was found to have abused her authority in firing him due to the Wooten matter (and, again, I'll state that I think Wooten is scum and should be kicked off the force). She then compounded the matter by blaming Moneghan more and more for his role in the dismissal, and covering up emails and

  • ordering staffers to ignore subpeonas to appear before the legislative board. Doesn't quite paint her in the good light then. And when you add this to all the other skeletons in her closet, from her days as mayor, to the snafus on the campaign trail, you start to see a pattern here. This goes back to your argument over who to trust here. From all that is out there on this matter, the strongest charge against Moneghan is insubordination over the budget. You keep referring to him as...

  • a "disgraced ex-trooper who has severely injured all of his credibility". He is not disgraced. He did not have to resign b/c he embezzled funds or tasered his stepson or was caught having sex in a airport bathroom. And if anything, it's Palin who has severely injured her credibility in this matter by the way she has mishandled it. Yes, she is popular in AK, due mainly to 2 things: 1)she is not her predecessor who I guess was not that well-loved and 2) she got everyone those nice rebate checks.

  • So she is a popular governor. That does not place her on the right side here. Nor does her popularity place her in the wrong. It all comes down to her pattern of behavior going back at least 12 yrs. and her continuing stream of lies; small, large, idiotic, etc. Her continual behavior should be enough for you to have at least some suspicion here. And you are right; if it was Obama or Biden in this situation, I would initially take their side. B/c they don't have that history of lies and behavior.

  • Sorry, I saw the period at the end and thought you were finished. Anyway, I'm glad we both agree that Wooten was scum, but the fact of the matter is, that Palin had more reasons to fire Moneghan than just his refusal to fire Wooten and his trip to Washington. I listed some of his other questionable actions as well. The fact of the matter was, there were numerous reasons for him to be fired. For someone to put it solely on any one of the aforementioned reasons is misleading. I also like to..

  • think it was more civil between Moneghan and Palin... but who knows? And I'd argue that he was hardly the decent guy you paint him to be. Moneghan would have come off as a much more respectable man if he had taken more action to fire Wooten, or at least harshly reprimanded him. There may have been obstacles in his way, but the least he could have done is made serious attempts and distanced himself from the scumbag. Again I have never said that Palin was a perfect, but if you were to...

  • put any other politicians through this same scrutiny, they'd have just as many, if not many more, skeletons. At least with Palin you have evidence to support her accusations against Moneghan. You also seem to be forgetting that nothing she has done was technically against the law. All charges were dropped in troopergate. And one more reason she is popular (I do agree with your 2 reasons) is because she has fought corruption in Alaska's government. From both sides of the political table...

  • And finally, Obama has lied about many things, most recently on gun control. You could argue that he has lied about his birth certificate (although I'm not sure if thats a very strong argument). Obama has lied about his relationships with shady characters in his past, most notably Bill Ayers. He has lied on his definition of middle class. He has lied about his economic plans not being socialist. This is just since he started running for President, and this is just off the top of my head.

  • I would like to think it was more civil b/w the two as well; I just offered that up to show that we will never really know everything that went on. First point: Palin didn't really need a reason to fire Moneghan. It was her discretion. But once she did, she made the comment about him and the budget making him to be the bad guy. Everyone asked about the budgets agree that Palin wanted deep cuts and he wouldn't make them b/c they would cut back on service to citizens. He made it public,...

  • ...probably thinking it would get her off his back. It backfired and he was gone. But he had a card to play with the Wooten situation. He played it and it shows that Palin, the First Dude and her aides abused the office. Right there should be your first glimmer that all is not right with Palin. If you do the research into Wooten, you will find that we are both correct in thinking him to be scum (he says, and the step-son backs him up, that the boy wanted him to use the taser on him so he...

  • ...to see what it was like. But no adult who has a basic understanding of the device should do that.Someone does that to one of my kids, no matter what the circumstances; I put him in the hospital). But Palin and her family are not squeaky clean here. They waged a campaign of lies against him (Why? When the truth was so damning all by itself) and twice had to be threatened with contempt citations by the family court judge for their actions. Palin accessed his personnel file and his workman's...

  • ...comp. file without proper authority, looking for ammunition to use against Wooten. And again, personally I can understand. One of my younger sisters had a husband who walked out on her and made her life miserable. He and I used to get along great. But now I hope to bump into him sometime so I can do some damage. He loves to play guitar and I actually dream about stomping on his fingers so I understand the instinctive nature to protect family. But I also understand if I do so, I could face...

  • ...assault charges. Just b/c Wooten genuinely deserves to be canned doesn't justify Palin's actions. It simply comes down to what we do know: Palin and Moneghan probably couldn't have worked together anyway and the firing would have occurred eventually. Moneghan did not break any laws or violate any job requirements and was basically just trying to do his job the best way he could do it. But from almost the moment he took the post, Palin and Todd and their people started pressuring him to...

  • ...fire Wooten. What is interesting is that I have just found info (I was checking something about Wooten before using it here) that kind of puts it in a different light. Wooten's superiors with the Troopers investigated him and upheld some of Palin's family's charges and dismissed others and decided to suspend him for 10 days (the Union later got it cut to 5)(and yes, I think that was too light as well). But all this happened before Moneghan was appointed to PSC. Since discipline had already...

  • ...been applied, Moneghan could not fire Wooten unless new charges could be brought against him (which is why Todd Palin was trying to prove Wooten was scamming on his Workman's Comp).Palin and her people were pushing for Moneghan to reopen the case against Wooten, which he legally couldn't do unless new charges could be leveled against him. Yet still they pushed and complained. Again, her "My way or the Highway" attitude comes through. This is one of the main reasons I am against Palin.

  • Look at all the things we have found out about her since she was chosen VP. As mayor, she pushed through a sports complex that left the city in debt and also had an unnecessary Emergency Medical Unit built that now operates in the Red,costing the city money. Her first major act as mayor: using almost $50,000 in city funds to decorate her office, which she did not have authority to do so. Her reply? "I'm the mayor. I can do whatever I want till the courts tell me I can't".

  • She is supposedly against earmarks, but hired a lobbyist to get earmarks for Wasilla. Hired a city manager to handle the day to day operations of the city (isn't that the mayor's job anyway?) and then referred to herself as being the city manager in Wasilla the other night with Van Susstern(sp?) on Fox. As governor, she only went to Juneau when forced and billed the state for per diem for 312 nights spent at home. Charged AK $43,490 for travel expenses for her children and hubby...

  • jjmatt04-McCain said "Barrack Obama is a good man".You should actually seek the truth regarding your claims and not just repeat the word of the hate mongers O'reilly, Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. They know the truth but feel that if they repeat such lies the small minded, naive voters such as yourself will be gullable evnough to believe them and vote accordingly.Get the facts and stop embarrasing yourself. The election is over and those who have the country circling the drain are history.

  • Trust me man, I didn't embarrass myself nearly as badly as you just did with your spelling. And Biden said, "Obama is not qualified." But didn't stop you from voting for him. What did I say that was a lie? Everything I've said has been verifiable fact. Obama supporters have repeatedly proven themselves to be the "small minded, naive voters." But keep believing everything Obama said. Oh yeah, I have the sites with all my info. Don't jump into a conversation you have nothing to do with.

  • jjmatt04-I guess when you have nothing of substance to say you complain about spelling. Did you actually read your comments before sending them? Leaving out words from your sentences makes it a bit difficult to follow. Sure, Biden made the statement you mentioned .but isn't that to be expected under the circumstances? As for experience on the part of Obama-if George Bush could be president anyone can. You are splitting hairs which is often all that the small minded have to argue about.

  • I'm just saying, I would think you'd at least be able to spell your "messiah's" name right. And again, you embarrassed yourself trying to embarrass me. But hey, its okay. I've explained myself thoroughly with my comments above. Did you even bother to read them? And for someone who complains so much about substance, your comments are pretty damn generic. It doesn't sound like you put any thought into what you wrote. And GWB was a governor, he ran a state. What'd Obama do?

  • jjmatt04-Messiah?You don't do your own thinking do you? You'e such a good sheep. You just repeat what your hear from others.I'll bet your specialty is talking in soundbights. That is understandable since you are only 19 and was 11 when Dubya was elected for his first term. You may have won a spelling bee in 6th grade but that will only take you so far. I'll bet you vote the same as mommy and daddy. You're such a good boy.

  • Your insults keep falling flat. I'd be willing to guarantee that it was much easier to be an Obama supporter this past election year. So, who really "went with the crowd" here? And since you want to bring age into it, it must be embarrassing to be unable to spell. Especially after you were called out for it, and continue to screw up. But, take heart. You make up a good portion of the Democratic voting bloc. The uneducated vote.

BTW, still want to know what Obama's qualifications are.

  • jjmatt04-Kids.I remember a time when I also thought I knew it all.I should hire you to work for me while you still have all of the answers. The only problem is that it will take you at least another 4 years of college to obtain the level of education you need for that most basic position.Making assumptions without basis is a sign of imaturity.Again I commend you on your spelling.Sadly you have nothing of substance to offer and that is your reason for dwelling on the trivial.Good luck with that

  • haha, here's the thing. I'm not going to repeat everything I have said in the 20+ comments above. So, before you start accusing others of no substance, maybe you ought to read everything above this. Literally, you wrote an entire comment about my age. That's it. At least I have reason to be able to comment on the trivial...I've already made my case. So, until you do too (since I really don't know your reason for writing), you have no basis to criticize others. And again, use spellcheck.

  • jjmatt04-If you consider the fact that "spellcheck" exists you would realize that it wasn't developed for only me.That fact in itself is reason enough for my previous comments regarding your incessant need to "dwell on the trivial".As for you making your "case", its difficult to follow your incomplete thoughts and determine exactly what your "case" might be.Why not explain the Obama/Ayers relationship, socialist economic plans, and Obamas definition of middle class. Accusations don't make a case.

  • I'm glad you found the spellcheck.

And I'm also glad that I finally know what you wanted to know. Ok, we'll go with Obama's definition of the middle class. It started at $250K, then went down to $200K. This then became $150K, then hit $120K (Bill Richardson). So, this case is pretty self-explanatory. His socialist economic plans are going to be real hard to explain here in 500 character limits, so check out machosauce productions. His video "begin deprogramming" explains my views.

  • And finally the Obama/Ayers relationship. Ayers gave money to Obama's re-election campaign. Obama has called Ayers "respectable" and "mainstream." Obama's political "coming out" was held in Ayers' Hyde Park community. None of this is refutable. Think about this. Yes, Ayers committed his atrocities 40 years ago. But let's look at it like this. In 40 years, will it be okay to spend time with Osama. Will he be considered "respectable" and "mainstream." You know he'll still be unrepentant.

  • Comparing Ayers to Osama is a little extreme. Ayers has a lot to apologize for and at least show some guilt about, but he has since become a respectable member of society in the Chicago community and a voice for education. Osama would have to outshine Mother Theresa to even come close to turning his life around, and even then he would still be a murderer. Obama's political coming out was in Hyde Park because that was part of the area he represented. It's not like he ran just for Ayers.

  • And I just saw this. Ayers is no different from Osama. Just because he wasn't as effective makes him no less guilty. Both men are extremely unrepentant. Ayers is technically a murderer as well. Weather Underground has been responsible for numerous deaths. I'm sure that Osama bin Laden has done some good for the people of his country as well, but that in no way excuses anything he has done. Again, there is no real difference. And I never said he ran just for Ayers, I'm just saying that...

  • he did in fact launch his political career out of the home of an unrepentant terrorist. If Tim McVeigh was still alive, no one would be starting their career from his house. Even if he was champion on education.

  • OK, I am no expert on the Weathermen, but have read enough about them these last few months to try and make some points here. Osama bin Laden wanted to kill as many people as possible. The Weathermen did not. As the Weathermen grew in the late '60s, numerous groups formed calling themselves Weathermen, but having little to no connection to the original group. So trying to blame all damage caused by all Weathermen groups on Ayers is like holding Roger Goddell accountable for the actions of all...

  • (cont) the players in the NFL. For the actions attributed to Ayers, the only harm that came to anyone was the death of the 3 members who blew themselves up in the NYC Townhouse. The bombings that Ayers worked on were meant to do damage, not harm anyone. Again, not condoning his actions, but not branding him a murderer either. So I see a huge difference between someone who blows up statues and Pentagon bathrooms and someone who wants to kill all Americans. Secondly, once again you use the ...

  • (cont) right wing talking points. Obama did not launch his campaign at Ayers' house. Ayers held a brunch and the retiring State Senator brought Obama to introduce him to people as her approved successor. Two months later, at an event at a Chicago hotel, Obama launched his campaign. Since then, Ayers has held some fund-raising dinners and teas at his house for Obama, but not in concert with the campaign, and also not attended by Obama. So no, he wouldn't launch a campaign w/Ayers OR McVeigh.

  • I'm looking at this from the perspective that a terrorist is a terrorist. Ayers was the mastermind behind an organization that blew up buildings. Ayers can claim all that he wants that he wasn't responsible for the deaths that his group committed, yet still claimed he wanted to "kill all the rich people." And went on to tell kids to "kill your parents." The man was just as much a terrorist as Osama.

  • As for the launching of Obama's political career, let me clarify. Obama may not have launched his national career out of Ayer's home, but he did introduce himself as a politician to many of the Democratic heavy-hitters through Ayer's brunch. That is still a political coming-out party. He may not have officially stated he was running, but it was pretty much a sure thing if he was attending the get-together.

  • jjmatt04-Based on your knowledge of spell check you have a bit of a problem with spelling as we all do.That certainly makes your point moot doesn't it.Don't you pocess any knowledge beyond what you hear or see on your computer? Are you not aware of the story behind the various income levels that define the middle class?A bit of advice-study party ideology, consider the source and expect to hear both good and bad about everyone in politics. You're only repeating the words of those with an agenda

  • What did I misspell?

For someone who wants to talk so much about my views, I haven't heard anything out of you. You claim that my views are wrong, yet never come out and say anything to back up your accusations. My Obama/Ayers information was from both Politico and someone who attended the function (Maria Warren). Everything else is very easily accessible. So, am I going to get an intelligent rebuttal, or are you going to keep complaining that you do in fact know how to spell?

  • jjmatt04-I'm going to type very slowly so you will understand-you have no views. You regurgitate the words of others simply because they support what you would like to be true. You may be a intelligent person for your age or not so much. You have expressed no original thought including your latest response. We see this often in our research and find that in the undeveloped brain of a person of your approx. age there is a natural tendency for discussion to become arguement.

  • Do you have any views whatsoever? Because honestly, you have said nothing. Why do you even write back if you're going to just try to dismiss me as a 19 year old zealot? Just because I didn't "break the news" with the points in my earlier comments doesn't make them any less valid. Would you rather me have come up with something completely original that had no research? If you research both sides and decide to think one way you aren't unoriginal...you're informed.

  • Not to be insulting, jjmatt, since I've kind of enjoyed these give-and-takes we've been having, but the other poster does make a point (but he could have been more polite about it). I notice in your postings almost word for word quoting of blogs and posts and news articles. You are correct that it makes you informed (though not always correct if you just follow one school of thought), but it doesn't offer that much in original thought. Sometimes it seems as if I am arguing with a blogger from..

  • (cont) Politico on one post and then another from Right Wing Nation on another, etc. etc. You need to digest this information that you gleam from your research and try and form your on views. You're young, you have time. Who knows...maybe I can bring you to the Dark Side of the Force, Young Skywalker...

  • haha, I've noticed that as you get older, you become more conservative, so not much chance on switching me to the "Dark Side" in the future. That being said, occasionally I do get information from other sites. Sometimes I use their words (thankfully plagiarism doesn't count for much on youtube) instead of my own because they say it better than I do. Trust me, I do "digest" the information before writing back. Everything I have said has been my opinion or a direct representation of it.

  • Okay, didn't mean to get back into this, but...

Obama's definition of middle class has remained the same. You pretty much quote several right wing articles word for word there, even down to the Bill Richardson part. The truth is that both Richardson and Biden (who did the $150K part) were providing examples of who would get tax cuts under Obama's plan. They were not saying that this was the ceiling. The $200K part comes from the highest limit of a new tax cut.

  • (cont) From $200K to $250K, nothing changes with your taxes. It is only above $250K that you would start to see a difference. So no one is changing the definition, as rightwing writers try and make it seem.

  • I hate it when people call him the "Messiah" and use it as an insult. If Obama or any of his people were the ones calling him that, then I would have a problem with it. But it was Lewis Farrakhan who called Obama the "Messiah". Obama has nothing to do with him and has publicly denounced him and his teachings. So when the Right calls Obama the "Messiah" it is just wrong.

  • Everywhere I have checked has said the same thing. It wasn't that they were just giving examples of what would be covered in the $250,000 ceiling, but instead were setting the bar lower. Bill Richardson for example said that Obama is "basically looking at $120,000 and under among those in the middle class." Richardson is a prominent spokesperson for Obama. Why would Obama or anyone associated with him try to make things complicated when explaining the definition of middle class?

  • Just leave it at $250,000 whenever explaining it. But thats not what they have done. Thats why I don't trust them at all. And I'm not putting as much emphasis on the word "messiah" as I am on the way that Obama is treated. The way that he is treated by the vast majority of the media is despicable and the fact that his followers seem to believe that he will be able to correct every wrong in the world is beyond naive. If you don't believe this is how they act, just look around on youtube.

  • HA!!, anyone who knows Richardson, knows he is not known for his eloquence!!!!

  • in order to receive funding, and the list goes on.

I do agree, this 500 word thing does suck. Judging by even what you have said, Moneghan was hardly a "team player on the new budget." If (and I say if bc I can't find what you are quoting) Moneghan is innocent of having gone without permission, then I apologize to him. Still doesn't make him a respectable man. There are proper channels to get funding, and going behind your boss's back isn't one of them.

  • And as said before, Moneghan was not fired solely because he didn't fire her brother-in-law. Moneghan was as much of a scumbag as the brother-in-law. It was well within her power to fire Moneghan for what he had done (ie. going behind Palin's back, the unauthorized trips, etc.). And I did see the thing about the police chief in Wasilla, and if she fired him solely because he might not have seen eye to eye with her, then she did abuse her power. But again, no conclusive evidence.

  • He did not bypass channels to recieve funding because he never got that funding. And he never took the trip to Washington because he was fired before the trip took place and the trip was authorized by Palin's Chief of Staff and there were emails to prove it.

  • Its true. I was on a McCain rally in our SUBDIVISION in Saint Charles MO and my friend counted 350 people on teh rally . The place was really small and still they could not fill it. But on the news was reported that there were 2,000 people . NO way !!!!

  • your an idiot

  • Uhhh there where MASSIVE amount of people at Hitlers speeches too. Whats your points?

    Votes count - rallies dont.

    kk thnx bye.

    You need CHANGE srsly.

  • Q: What is the difference between Sarah Palin's mouth and Sarah Palin's vagina?

A: Only one out of every five things to come out of her vagina are retarded.

  • I can't believe you all are allowing comments like gusbunda. This is unreal.

  • Maddow's smile makes me smile :)

  • The state of the economy, 4000 dead US soldiers, crumbling education and loss of national dignity is NOT the blame of the LIBERAL media - it's the blame of REPUBLICANS! Anyone who voted for Bush should be held liable in a civil court for the devastation of the economy and criminally for the deaths of all Americans and Iraqis from the illegal invasion. SOCIALISM - ha! Fault lies in the mirror if you are a McBush supporter!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!.....I've been posting the same FACTS on posts as well. The republicans have had their way with our taxpayer dollars for 8 YEARS, then on top of that we got a President who bodly LIED to the american people. Now they push to elect McCain(whos a Bush baby) and Palin(whos a...to scared to think about) for president & VP. These people would rather see all out DEPRESSION and ANARCHY before they elect a non-traditional president...so sad.

  • Sideshow Sarah and the coronary kid... oh dear.

  • i know. if Karl Rove says that you're being deceitful, then you know that you're doing something wrong.

  • lol... Rove definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to dirty lies

  • Wow! I can't believe that I agree with Karl Rove. Miracles never cease.

  • McCain is a joke. Good thing the election is all but won for Obama.
