@gnaloin FYI, you don't need solid lifters on these engines to rev 8300. 8500 can be done safely on hydros and better valve springs. Solid lifter for anything above 8500.
@loxxrider We've come up with about 7800 for hydros, after that there's a downfall in power as the valves start to creep.. Though Iäm sure it's individual.. I will try 8k+ now with my new setup. Will post videos.
@gnaloin Yes, I can definitely see that for extended bursts above 7800. I just meant to say that 8500 is safe to do with valve springs (aka you won't break anything as long as its not too prolonged). I'm sure there is more power to be made with solids though! I am going solids on my car, just wish there were more options on the lifters. Do you have a good source?
@loxxrider Well, that's true.. The hydros will drain again at shift when the rpm drops, it shouldnt break anything. I got Schrick cams and JE pistons with 9:1 cr, there's about 4 millimeters of space between intake valve and the piston head. I got 1.7mm opening at the TDC between exhaust and intake strokes so there's abother 3,3mm clearance, should not be a problem.
@loxxrider At around 8500 the oil pump might start to cavitate, so that's the next problem on high rpm. With solid lifters, strong springs and a dry sump, then it's 10k :)
@loxxrider I'm not going for dry sump yet, nor solid lifters. Got Schrick valve springs rated for 8,5k, that's where I'll set my rpm limit. The car is built for standing mile runs. Should be running at 600hp+ now. Just finished welding tubular dual plenum intake manifold.
