  • this is new, usually i just tape down star paper

  • i'm sorry, but what is it 'distress ink' ?

  • Great video. tfs

  • You made some beautiful tapes, but there seemed to be a lot of work to accomplish the end result. I've been searching for ways to make my own "tissue tape". I've found several sites that create the decorative "tape/paper" (as you did) but use double-sided tape to stick the decorated paper to one side, leaving the second adhesive side stuck on some scrap plastic sheeting (such as the packaging from some of the items we buy). I'm going to try that with the heavier paper stock you used! Thanks!

  • @759Sherry Using a double sided tape is a great idea. Sometimes I love the hassle, though. It's the joy of creating something from scratch...

  • How can I store my new ready made deco tape?

  • @Bristol67 I just roll it on a non-stick cooking sheet.

  • I can't wait to try this out tomorrow! Thanks for sharing. I think I will just stamp directly on it and distress it some. Im so excited! Thanks again!

  • @kingsjewels I'm glad you liked it! How did it go?

  • @CreativityPrompt I stick them on a non-stick cooking paper and roll it straight, then cut in between each tape piece to make my own rolled deco tape. I hope that helps.

  • @CreativityPrompt It went really well! I am so glad that I tried it! TFS!

  • Not only does this seem time consuming but if you are one that is concerned with recycling and limiting waste, then why waste the tape when you could just apply the strips of paper by themselves with modpodge?????

  • @MrsShondaIM I appreciate your concern, but there actually is a benefit to doing it this way which is avoiding the Mod Podge streaks around the paper stripe and making a more finished looking strip for decoration. You can also do that on any strip of cardstock - cut it to side and adhere it to the page. The actual tape is just allowing you to skip a step. It is time consuming but some people enjoy the quiet time :)

  • That looks easy, but I don't understand how they work or how to use them. Can you explain that to me? I'd appreciate it.

  • @deettle They work as any tape, only they are decorated, so you can use them to embellish envelopes, cards, packages, etc.

  • oh this is a great idea. great way to use some scraps. thank for sharing.
