I played Resistance 2 and i have to say i love the coop, the campaign and the multiplayer. It's just so unique on the way they did each one
I haven't played GoW2 so i can't really say much about it, but from what i see gore can only take a game so far. I love the shooting around corners but i don't want to play an old western shoot-out where everyone is hiding xD
either way if i had a 360 i would buy GoW2, but i would also play R2

ya well man, well first the maps are HUGE. second of all, its split up into squads of 5 and each squad has rival squads, that gives you a feeling as if u were in part of a larger war. and other aquads interact with u, lets say on e squad is doin horrible, another squad would come which finished their objective and back u up. u still think gears is better? not only that , but resistance 2 has by far cooler weapon, like the splicer, magnum, carbine, auger, bullseye and so on.

I really disagree with you, the multiplayer of resistance is far more tactical that Gears. You have to constantly be looking at your map, because if one of the other 5 man squads fails, you might have to go and back them up, leaving your post undefended.

It's gray to make it a dark style dumbass. Gears of War is absolutely perfect. Resistance is going to be horrible in many different ways. Anyone could come up with a cod4 with arbiters.
Maybe not by a landslide, but it definitely wins. Textures aren't everything. Environments as well are important. And when we get into the visual component of graphics, not just the technical, Resistance 2 definitely wins again. I've watched cutscenes, and there is so much color, great camera angles, and it looks amazing. Plus Resistance 2's use of motion capture adds a whole new hint of realism to the game that wasn't present at the start.
I'm not saying Gears has bad graphics, I love Gears.
Color also isn't the style of gears. Gears is supposed to be a dark game. If they wanted "amazing colors lololololololol" they would have them. You also get that endless action. It has much better visuals of war scenes it puts you directly into the action.
You can have color and still be a dark game. For example. The new Ps3 game coming out, InFamous, uses a lot of color, but is really dark.
Using grays isn't the problem, it's mixing the color palette with the lighting that creates an effective art style. In Killzone 2, they have a great form of lighting mixed with variations of grays and blacks, and it works really well.
Lighting = more space. The fact it has gray spots doesn't mean you have to zoom into the wall and look at them. Resistance 2 has bigger pixels anyways.
Watching footage of Gears of War 2, the dull grays are so vivid that you don't NEED to zoom.
Gears 1 was equally as grey, but it worked so well because they made the lighting dark and morbid. They brightened it in Gears 2, which was a step in the wrong direction, because the unappealing colors are now more defined.
Thankfully there are parts of Gears of War 2 that use dark lighting to complement the dull colors in a Killzone 2 fashion, and some parts with breathtaking colors.
co-op:it has its own story 3 different classes and 8 players for it online
online: 60 player multiplayer squad based cool points system and perks for a temporary time when u have enough points
story: a lot more depth and mystery to it

I like gears better because i think the graphics are great (which i heard insomniac is working on R2 graphics last so i havent seen those yet) and i like the cover system and the extreme gore (which i heard insomniac is raising the gore) so i guess right now its to hard to tell, but out of R1 and gears 1 i like gears better so until resistance 2 shows really good graphics and gore i have to go with gears(at the moment, fingers crossed for R2 though)
-weapons are a tie (for now) with the lancer vs the splicer...but in the end insomniacs weapons will surely win...they are the best.
-color wise....resistance, there is not just grey and red (for blood) plus, the full moon podcast claims that it's graphically leaps and bounds ahead of the private beta code
-gameplay is a tie....for now. it LOOKS like gears is more of the same...but I's sure there are tricks up Epic's sleeve,but I just like the style of Resistance more

I played Resistance 2 for 2 days and I got sick of it
I played Gears 2 for about 6 hours last night and I loved every minute of it
The critics have spoken and gears 2 is vastly superior
Resistance 2 is ok but all it did was add more players into the game and kept the same gameplay

(1) Horde mode (the greatest match up against AI)
(2) More blood and gore
(3) Marcus fenix will kick the shit out of nathan hale

by the way i own a xbox 360 but im selling it cause of all the shitty games on xbox 360 (the exclusives) and i want to try out killzone, resistance, uncharted, gow3 ,infamous, mgs4, lbp, r and c,warhawk and MAG that looks amazing and sounds amazing there are also many more i wnt to try out....but the guns and maps in gears 2 ruined it i prefer gears 1

I'm getting both games but I personally liked Resistance betters then Gears, don't get wrong I liked both a lot Resistance was just more fun to play, it wasn't so easy.

Gears is a lot better.
What's so special about R2? Gears is just so much better because we have executions, human shields, tons of gore, really intense gameplay, challenging campaign, and better graphics. Resistance is not intense at all. It's so repetitive and the fights feel dull and scripted. And stop praising it just because of the weapons. All weapons get boring after a while so stop treating R2's weapons like they are god. Oh yeah, and R2's multiplayer is not intense either. MY OPINION!!

randomized levels (levels are almost never the same when you replay them)
8 player co op with 3 character classes
amazing scenery
awesome weapons (i love the splicer)
thats most of the reasons...but in all do respect gears of war is going to be an amazing game as well

I like gears better because i think the graphics are great (which i heard insomniac is working on R2 graphics last so i havent seen those yet) and i like the cover system and the extreme gore (which i heard insomniac is raising the gore) so i guess right now its to hard to tell, but out of R1 and gears 1 i like gears better so until resistance 2 shows really good graphics and gore i have to go with gears(at the moment, fingers crossed for R2 though)

-graphics go to gears...duh
-weapons are a tie (for now) with the lancer vs the splicer...but in the end insomniacs weapons will surely win...they are the best.
-color wise....resistance, there is not just grey and red (for blood) plus, the full moon podcast claims that it's graphically leaps and bounds ahead of the private beta code
-gameplay is a tie....for now. it LOOKS like gears is more of the same...but I's sure there are tricks up Epic's sleeve,but I just like the style of Resistance more
