Isn't there a version of this where the girl plays bass and sings with Peter? I saw it the other day and now can't find it! I think it was from a Florida concert. If you can get me the link I would appreciate it.
I thought that the solo was pretty Jazzy! I Love It! Anybody can play the melody to this tune, but only TONY RICE can do this, while getting a Awesome F*cking Tone!
WROTE THE SONGS TOGETHER THIS IS IT MY DARLING THE WALLS OF TIME
SENT THE ANGLES FOR MY DARLING TAKE HER TO THE HOME ON HIGH COME TO YOU WHEN I DIE COMING ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN THE DARKEST HURT OH LORD NAMES ON THE TOMBS STONE WHO WILL COME TO SEE OR HEAR THE VOICES IN THE DARKEST THRU THE PINES MUST ME HARD TO COME DOME TO YOU WHEN I DIE
Mike Bub--monster bass fiddle solo! The double time ending Tony did fits there but not for the solo--too busy, IMHO. Bryn has a perfect voice for bluegrass and, as usual, harmonizes with Peter as if they are from the same womb. I'd love to see Bryn form a young hot band on the side--all women! I like the tempo fine--stoner tempo I guess LOL! I play it just a little faster but not too fast as I have often heard it played.
In my opinion, they shouldn't have been "Billed" as Rowan & Rice... It should have been: Rowan, Rice, & Davies. I also think Tony over did it there... Using your talents to "Make" the song, is better than showing off what "You" can do.
@1radjak No KIDDIN'. He must have snorted PCP that day thinking it was Cocaine.
He may be Tony Freakin' Rice, but on this particular performance his guitar break was like a monkey f#%king a football. It made no sense whatsoever in the context of this CLASSIC song. Peter Rowan should have kicked his butt!
Hold my breth. I've heard alot bass breaks/ solo's. Seen ya with Del & the Boy's. One of Vinny's stlawarts. Produced numerous records.
Son! Oh,by the way. You can pick the 5 mighty fine. And not bad on a 6 string. I hope you are still happily married. If not, I don't blame her, ya knuckle head. Carry on Bub.

Davies, as in Bryn Davies. Someone else is playing bass here, though.
