  • OH GOD IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL

  • Everything looks more beautiful on a mac.

  • how much cost the imac with your version because i want to play sims 2 and 3 and callofduty and gta 4

  • lol Runs way smoother on a mac than my R4870X2 and phenom II X4 955 with 6gb of ram

  • I have the Sims3 now, but I still prefer the Sims2. I miss it :(

  • Excellent..... it's lush to see Sims 2 running natively on a Mac.... downloading it with all expansions to my MacBook Pro, now. Much better than Sims 3... until Sims 3 catches up with more expansions I'm sticking with Sims 2

  • i know im really late.. but if you still have it.. can i ha e the link?!

  • @haltzy can't post it here.... could get blocked.... whats your email?

  • i just bought this game from the online apple store

  • That's not the 24'', that's the 20''.

I have the 20'' and it looks exactly the same as the one in this video.

  • It's the 24'' read the SPEKS!

  • The beginning of Sims 2 for me doesn't run smooth like that at all! It's choppy! =S

  • My Core Duo MacBook barely runs it in Leopard, but it runs pretty good on XP with Boot Camp (though I do have to keep all graphics settings low).

  • Did you find it slowed your computer down very much? My iMac is my families one and I am trying to persade my Dad to let me put it on my Mac but I know he won't want it to slow down? Please reply I need to know!

    Tess xx

  • it wont slow down the computer whatsoever. the only thing that will slow it down is viruses.

  • I have an imac g5 1.9ghz and i can't make movies!!! Its too slow and choppy and the graphics are CRAP (most of the time) How can i make my graphics good???

  • because you have a mac you can not. you either have to buy a new mac (for like 2 grand) or you can get a pc in which if your graphics card was too slow you could simply put a new one in.

  • @blankpianist a new iMac costs $1200 not $3000

  • @smashandskate oops i meant $2000 not $3000

  • my jaw was dropped by the performance!!!!!!

  • jeez i said that ew Dx

  • Do you know when (The Sims 2 Apartment Life) is coming out? 0_o

  • I wonder how the (The Sims 3) would run on that iMac! You should make a video showing us! :)

  • My 2.66 ghz imac runs sims 3 ok, on ok graphics (graphics card sucks)

  • ok. My iMac is pissing me off and won't let me download the Sims 2 (Deluxe) can somebody help me. Because nobody at my house can fucking help XD

  • Well isn't it in the right hand side of the 'screen'? I have a Mac and you just push it in and off it goes. It may be different, though.

  • LOL ! There is cd tray is on the right !!!! Look ! BWhahah :)

  • Bwahaha? No there isn't. We obviously don't have the same iMac you retard. Use your fucking brain and think.

  • Calling me a n00b, nice. Bet you sit around all day playing games like Runescape. I'm sorry, but I don't have enough time to be messing around with Computers, and nerd liabilities like you, IRL n00b.

  • hey, calm the fuck down u r right it is not a cd "tray" it is a slot loading disc drive just push the cd in the slot on the right side

  • Lol "calm the fuck down". I think you should calm down mate. It doesn't have CD-Tray or a slot. :S

  • then you don't have a normal iMac. There should be a CD slot on the right of your monitor. All these people are right.

  • Removed my comment because too many people have responded. Thanks for the people that actually helped me, no thanks to the people that are telling me things I already know i.e Kittehfaee.

  • obviously you didnt already know, since you couldn't find the CD drive. just trying to help, sorry.

  • My sister and I are getting an Imac for the sims 3. I'm getting a macbook for college. Do you think the game would run on both of them?

  • yeah, since the new macbook and imac meet the requirements for the game

  • pom pom pom,pom pom pom pom.Tududu tududu tududu. Imac power !!

  • it loaded into that house fifty times faster than my shit windows. how well would you say this runs? what are you video settings in the game?

  • I imagine making games for the Mac must be pretty easy, since there is such a limited scope of hardware; like making games for a console. I know that sounds bad, but in this sense it's a good thing. You can make a game that will run smoothly on all Macs.

The only downside is that OpenGL (which I think is the open source 3D graphics engine used on the Mac; I could be wrong, and I usually am about Macs) isn't nearly as powerful or advanced as Microsoft's Direct X, so no more HD games. Bummer. =[

  • I dont think thats true, The games on macs are rendered MUCH faster. I saw the video of The Sims 2 on MacBook (old white) which had suckish graphics. (intel integrated memmory shared with main) And it was at least 7 X faster then my old pc with Nvidia Geforce.

  • Exactly, because OpenGL is a relatively simple 3D rendering platform. For casual games, like The Sims 2, this is a good thing. I have some OpenGL games on my laptop that run fantastically well. I wish they made more casual games with it.

But if you want HD graphics, you would need Direct X. However Direct X also has it's downsides; since it's made to handle HD graphics, simple games will run slower because they're held to the same standards.

Also, your laptop might have also had shared VRAM.

  • Do you have any EP's installed here?

  • Extension packs? No, just Sims 2.

  • oh I realllly want an imac. . . . :)

  • the question from joewillgo was funy and then the answer xD

  • dude it says iMac thats a mac duh!

  • lol

  • What's so funny?

  • it's funny because it IS an iMac... lol.

  • But Bootcamp runs Windows. And that can confuse me. lol

  • NOTICE: Are you useing Windows or a Mac? PLEASE REPLY!

  • lol

  • Why won't you anser? !And why is this funny?! I just want to know if your are running this on Mac or Windows

  • u mean bootcamp or os x? Well I think this is the mac version.

  • damn thats running well smooth mine dont run like that

  • Hey, does anybody know if the basic iMac (2.4GHZ 128MB Graphics Card and 4GB Ram) would be able to play this??

  • hell yea as long as that card not an intell card this game is a piss to run you probably have ati x1600 cuz thats what mine is. my pc has an intell card and its a disaster

  • Nvida had a new graphics card for macs i believe its called 8800 GT and if you get that card for your mac , your computer will play the sims 2 with more than 100 FPS (frams per second) and with NO LAG AT ALL.

  • do you need sims 2 for the mac or u can have the sims 2 pc does it still wrk on mac?cuz im geting my imac next monday and i want to know if the sims2 pc are fine on mac?

  • sorry, no, but you can use boot camp to run windows on the imac. also, im getting an imac friday, monday, or tuesday! haha.

  • waaaaaaaaaa :( i wanna mac

  • i have one haha

  • Oh my gosh want this for my mac now, got the same as yours

But it still needs the update, so i tried running the Rev F update but it just stays there on Installing... Sims 2 1.0 Rev C patch readme.rtf. Any help would be appreciated

  • can you have kids on this game and is like the sims 2 on pc cos i wonna know plz!

  • yea, you can have kids on every sims 2

  • My mom wont let me get sims 2 for mac. she still thinks my mac runs like my PC so she wont let me get it. And my pc crashed and I cant play sims anymore.

  • Well install windows with bootcamp duh! Then you won't need a mac version!

  • aw it stinks im getting my first mac and i have a lot of pc expansion packs. oh well...

  • Just run windows on it duh!

  • i HATE WINDOWS! anyways, my imac is going to be for the sims 3.

  • I think I have a similar or same Mac as you and I was just wondering if you ever had like a glitch while playing the Sims 2 when you tried to use an object and everything on the lot turns a light blue color. It gets extremely annoying and was wondering if you had any solutions. I guess Mylifeasashell has similar problems. If you have na answer please repond to the many mac users with this problem.

  • hey how are the graphics? I'm a huge sims 2 fan and currently have a 7600gt. I'm saving for this iMac and was wondering how the sims 2 looks on the 2600...

    thanks!

  • HOW DOES IT WORK??!?! when i try to run mine whenever im actually playing all it does it present these massive blue squares when i stop moving

    ITS SO ANNOYING!! help?

  • how dose it work with no lags?

  • you need to install the universal binary patch

  • the universal patch makes it intel native instead of using rosetta what slows it down alot

  • lol! I have an i mac and i have sims

    ! rofl!

  • I wont be impressed until I see it running boot camp with ALL expansion packs to the game :) Someone make a video of that, And If it works this good Im selling this PC shit right away.

  • I WANT A IMAC COMPUTER!

  • not for gaming you dont

  • ok, thank you so much!

  • is this sims game the 1s made for imac or can u just load 1s that work on all pcs

  • This is the Mac version of the game. You'd need to purchase the Mac version, unless you ran Windows on your Mac (using Boot Camp) - then you could obviously use the Windows version.

  • PLEASE ANSWER!!! When you install multiple expansion packs, are all of your expansion packs all combined? or are they all in different game files?

  • I'm afraid I have no expansion packs installed, so I couldn't tell you. Perhaps you could ask on some Sims related Internet forum?

  • Thank God for not moving the camera around, zooming and panning. I love you for that!

  • hey everyone.. i got sims 2 for my mac.. and its great. my Question is.. how can i add download.. to it.. because they dont have lots of this.. but if u know can u plz rite back,, in steps..

  • hey everyone.. i got sims 2 for my mac.. and its great. my Question is.. how can i add download.. to it.. because they dont have lots of this.. but if u know can u plz rite back,, in steps..

  • I have an iMac OS X

(im pretty sure) but the sims wont work or any games because i dont have microsoft windows? Does anyone know if you download windows or what.. bcuz sims is my favorite game and it wont work! =[ messge me

  • There is a version of The Sims for Mac (OS X). If you already have the Windows version, and want to run that, you'll need to install Windows onto your Mac using Boot Camp. To find out how to do that, I suggest you search in Google :)

  • its more stable than my vista pc.

  • Hey was that instant loading from neighbourhood to lot?

  • No, there was a loading screen, I just cut it out.

  • Thanks for the clip marklocker, I'm picking up my copy this week :-)

Oh and narutokingxxx, that comment sounds like Mac envy, not getting touchy about all these PC games making their way to OS X are you? lol

  • u can run these games with a 400 $ pc... why the fuck should u buy a 1000+ $ mac

  • My sister runs it on a PC worth even less than that - the game doesn't require a lot.

I certainly didn't buy my mac to run the Sims. This video simply illustrates the performance of the Sims if you're thinking of buying a Mac and would like to get the Sims for it.

  • GAY MUSICS

  • I'm getting an iMac soon and I love the Sims. It looks good. Is there any problems with Sims for Mac? :) Please write me a private message.
