@greg311086 Maybe for college usage.. Sometime people can't understand the teacher and stuff.. Plus, alot of college students use pens more than pencils, so this will be good to record audios, and such while writing at the same time. I think it's pretty dope.. Some people just want it to spy on the girls locker room and such.. People are crazy.. who knows.

this is a crap. it worked only for few minuets and it is not functioning. fucken cheater prodct. i had three problems. first it stops after five mins even after enough charging. second its green light does not come and no recording is done. third my cptr is unable to detect it. wasted my money better u dont.

Do not buy one of these mass produced pieces of crap. There's no difference from brand to brand, they're all made on the cheap by the same factory. Equally dubious 'companies' buy them by the box then sell them to you for peanuts because most people aren't going to bother asking for their £20 back when it breaks after 2 days.

I got one recently. I'm having problems with it.

When I click the top button just once it doesn't go into stanby mode. The yellow light goes on then the blue one follows. It doesn't even wait for me to click it a second time. Also once the blue light comes on it never stops. I held the button forever and it would not stop. I had to wait till batteries ran out. Finally when I plug it into the computer there are no files on the memory.

Anybody know what coulda gone wrong?

but there is some importent things 1. the name of the file must be exactly SysTime.txt with capital letters. 2 the date changes then computer recognizes the pen. Thank you Savoiejml for instruction

Mine was pulling that act too, and then I gave it a Reset. Under the LED is another hole about the same size as the opening for the LED. Push something of the right diameter into that hole until you feel a "click." The user guide says something about not using a metal object, but a paperclip hasn't seemed to hurt mine any.

I finally got mine running, on a new laptop. The test video wasn't great, but was quite adequate considering the size of the device. Life is good.

Just got mine, and my computer recognized it once, but not the next time.

I've had a miserable time trying to get the drivers out of those RAR files on the mini-CD. I was able to decompress the RARs, but can't quite seem to get the drivers installed properly.

StarWarsMedia: Not exactly "cheap," but around $50 on eBay.

To anyone who hasn't caught on yet: The camera lens is on the same side as the clip, or else you'd be "kinescoping" your shirt. The LED is on the other side, and mostly unseen.

PREPARATION IN ORDER TO VIEW MOVIES

-Windows will automatically detect it and install the drivers.

-Once installed a window with several options should appear, select the option just above the bottom option: Open Folder to view files.

-At this point you should see a single Folder named Movie. Double click it, and then double click the Record folder. You now see any videos that you have recorded.

*Note* you will need ffdshow to view these movies using windows media player.

USING THE CAMERA FUNCTION:

1. COMPLETELY charge the device.

2. Press the top button, the pen should turn on.

3. Press the button on top. The yellow light should turn off and the Blue light should turn on. This means that the pen is recording.

4. Simply hold the top button to stop recording. The blue light should turn off and the yellow light should turn back on.

5. Press and HOLD the top button for 5 seconds to turn the device off again.

How to set the time date on the DVR Camcorder Pen

1. Open notepad and create a file using this format: 2008-06-12 14:20:30

2. Save file to desktop as the name userconfig this will be a .txt file.

3.  Connect pen to your computer.

4. Open the drive assigned to your pen.

5. Copy the txt file from your desktop and paste it into this drive you opened.

6. Exit out of the drive.

I don't know if yours is the same brand as mine, but I somehow found a Micro$oft Word .DOC with a three page user guide. I can't find that file right now, but I know I saved a copy; also printed it out.

It's in slightly fractured English, but I could understand it.
