  • The only unfair thing in these test is the orange bumper bar representing a standard car bumper. The fact that it is attached on a wall means it doesn't move when the cars crash into it. In a real situation, the other car would move slightly and its rear bumper would absorb the the forces more when a car crash into it, so there'd be less damage on both cars. Do you see what I mean?

  • Strange feedback about this video again.

  • Get the right insurance then it won't matter? The logic to this test is great: "Hey guys, I recommend you ride around in a little fisher price car so that when you get squashed, maimed/killed, it will only cost you peanuts to replace, Yay!" Most western european cars are so safe now it is amazing.

  • um isn't wiether you safe inside more important than the cost of the damage

  • lol only the grill came of the saab

  • lol i love the first hit, its like "What the f*ck you gon' do now orange thing??"

  • What is that thing that fell out at 3:09?

  • the 2002-present Saab 9-3 was/is assembled in

Trollhättan, Sweden (sedan 2002-, wagon 2005- and convertible 2010-)

    Graz, Austria (convertible 2003-2009)

  • Personally this is a stupid test because SAABS as ridiculously safe cars, You can never put a price of your life or your health, or your passengers.

  • super glue and duct tape is a hell of alot cheaper lol

  • test for dumb blondes I guess

  • at 3:07 the car took a shit.

  • Nice Car's But dreadfully uncomfertable on long trips, Had the discomfert of Driving a 2000 model Saab 93 for 500km on the highway and found it uncomfertable, all the control's seemed to be out of reach, the cruise control kept deactivating, They are nice car's but are Crap on long Run's

  • no its not made of [rubber ] its called polypropelene ,not that abs shite the yanks use!

  • Huge damage at 0:43! LOL

  • sheza!

  • Did that back bumper seriously just pop back out perfectly? I need me a saab.

  • @KkF00 yes it did my firend, yes it did. chuck norris's car :))

  • @KkF00

I got rear ended by a mercedes SLK... lady did 3000 in damage to her front end while my car received 500. My ABS foam wasn't even dented. Thankful for 2 things, saabs are built tough and MB SLKs are made to blow apart.

  • is this car made from rubber?

  • Nothing a little duct tape can't fix

  • crash tests for stupid drivers? LOL

  • Try as hard as you can't you can't kill my ass

  • my 13-year old opel astra F have same ressistance, problem?

  • boring

  • "Efekt Łągiewki"? ...learn more about!

  • You call this a crash test??? Well then you don't need airbags, if this is a crash test!!!

  • The prices seem a bit exaggerated to me. I payed around 700$ for my car after a rollover on the side at about 40 Mph.

  • Some

    Asshole

    Actually

    Bought that?

  • 6k dollars for what??? some scratches? just stupid. in real world this would be no more than 1k

  • So in this test, would teh volvo xc60 just stop right before with no damage? LOL

  • Lol! It looked like it tried to bite that front bumper but then broke its front teeth on it. And is it just me or, when it backs into the thing at 2:32, does the driver seat kinda headbutt you in the back of the head?

  • @KnightInBrightArmor yes, its a safety element, in this kind of impact your head will swing back possibly letting you on a wheelchair, even at low speeds, this prevents the damage

  • @amigovino Oh, well I guess you learn something new everyday. To me at first glance it just looked like it would give you a nice, headrest-sized bruise on the back of your noggin.

  • maybe you shouldn't park with 6mph :)

  • haha, look at the driver seat at 2.33 xD

  • Saab est fantastique!!!

  • Have you yanks ever herd of the Euro N-CAP Safety tests? They're PROPER Crash tests, not a snarly little poke to the bumper.

  • Cars are made way to soft nowadays. =D

  • @Marinemiketobe Not true, look at the head on crash test of a 2009 malibu and a bel air 59 : watch?v=fPF4fBGNK0U

  • Saabs are better engineered.

  • Drive any car in the early 80's and you wouldn't even have a scratch.

  • wait why it cost so much for 5 dollars worth of plastic

  • lol 3:08 it did a crap xD

  • @3:15, the car moves sideways because of the polished floor. Had that been grippy tarmac, there may be more damage. Unless the crash tests are performed in exactly the same road-like environment, the results are pretty useless.

  • @lexusES350h black people like bling

  • well if they test the cost at those speed i better go walking lol wtf.

  • rear impact at 2:10, I see no damage...

  • Step on the fucking gas ..

  • thats 2mph? stupid!

  • Shit, those are REALLY expensive grilles on that thing!

  • the saab is a dinasaur! ud think that they would perfect their bumper design.

  • wow its the amazing air car the car that blows it self back 2 gether its nice i need me 1 of them

  • very good.

  • the rear bumper bounces back hhahaha:P

  • did you see the drivers seat move during the rear test?

  • I believe that was saabs active head restraints that will move forward in a rear end crash. My 9-5 has something similar but someone has to be in the seat. The use is to reduce the amount of movement of your head to eliminate whip-lash.

  • Not bad at all. Now if you hit another car siting still you might not have any damage at all

  • this was already the best performer.

  • What is wrong with you people? What is the purpose of a bumper other than to protect the vehicle in minor bumps and crashes? In this day and age, the damage should be ZERO in an accident like this. You pay $25,000 for a car and get a rubber cover over a styrofoam block as a bumper, and people rave over how well it "absorbs" the impact.

  • That's why people should learn how to drive. Don't blame the automakers. Accident rates are increasing rapidly.

  • Thats because idiots are reproducing rapidly.

  • Agreed.

  • Agreed.

  • very well made cars , i have a 93 saab 9000 cse turbo 5 spd a very strong car.

  • impressive

  • And the lesson here folks is don't drive your car into a steel beam attached to a concrete wall.

  • Luxury cars might provide more than cheaper cars, but better bumpers are not part of the equation apparently.

  • overestimated i tell!!!

  • yea is overestimated i have the saab 9-3 2008 and the prices of repair parts are lower.

  • omg!!!

    come on!!

only an idiot would crash at 3mph!

    lol

  • fuckin looser... its a bumper crash test u idiot...

  • lol 50 % of all crashes happens under 30 km/h. lol noob.

  • only a WOMAN would crash at 3mph ;)

  • hahahahaa

  • why is everything so expensive?? the saab's full width frontal was 1400 dollars?! thats a lot of money!

and the only thing that seems to have broken was the grille!

here in india, where we pay the same for the same car if it was bought in america, something like a hyundai getz

if that needs a full bumper replacement, its like 4500 rupees! which is 100 dollars!

these prices in the video are just mind boggling!

  • all your parts come from chine or are produced in your country where avg worker's sallary is probably lower than in the US.

  • They should put thare test bumper on wheels so when a car hits the test bumber it will show what will really happen

  • Its crap. Wasnt even going fast.

  • that doesnt proove any thing it hits a solid wall if you hit a real vehicle it mould move the thing that it hit

  • LOL at the speeds

  • Comment removed

  • Braniac83, these tests are not for safety, they are for insurance, hence the COST of the damage. A 9-3 owner will have lower insurance premiums because the car fares better in these minor accidents.

  • Anybody notice the SAHR (Saab Active Head Restraints) activate during the rear bumper impact (watch 2:32-2:35). Scary how it shakes but...no more whiplashes!

  • cos no 1 is sitting there, if u r seated, it wont shake so hard.

  • im good at that shit they need me to crash test them : )

  • looool, nonsens crash-test :D

  • hehe this swedeish car rules haah svenska bilar :P

  • I like how the car takes a dump in the rear inpact tests.

  • lol

  • That'll buff right out.

  • looking for friends

energetic fun smart and loves this video lW

  • That front corner test is a bitch...

  • you could buy a used car with the ammount of money it would cost to repair the G35!

  • i wonder how the facelifted one would do?

  • saabs are great! i have one with 333,000 kilometers on it and its still going!!

  • agreed, they are easily the better swedish carmaker =]

  • Volvos are great too, better overall than Saabs.

    Saab just makes brilliant engines.

  • @bigvanilla27 lol the Saab cars has looked the same since they started. It´s not weird that they´re almost dead now. Volvo rapes Saab and they always has.

  • great cars! when they do the rear end crash look at how the bumper just pops back out!

  • superglue and a buffer and it would all be fixed... stuff $4000+

  • why the heck do they do these dumb tests going 3mph? i think its pointless... i look at crash tests too see what car i am going to survive in during a crash.

  • its a waste of these beautiful cars!

  • WOW! Now i like saabs! lol

  • we have 2, and about to get rid of the envoy to get the 97-X! we love our Saabs!!

  • The 9-7 is an Envoy.

  • yea i know, im not dumb. ots just a little more updated and a little diffrent bodystyle than our envoy xl.

  • great vid guys!
