This may have been said before, but I found it much easier to just hover from edge to edge, while collecting the coins. You really don't even need the leaf for this level.

Ah, so you can go back by running on the wall. That'll help, since it's hard to get all 8 in one go! This is so freaking hard! Even getting to this place with Yoshi can be a pain if I accidently fall in the water!

For thos ho dont know how to get here with yoshi, u have to grab yoshi jump on the boat that goes near the shine gate then stay on the boat till it get u to the an island then wait for the other boat to arrive jump on it, then let it guide u to a high platform with a fruit jum on it eat the fruit and then wait for the other boeat jump on it and reach the island thats it, sorry for being so specific but its the only way to understand.

there's one like this all the way to the right of delfino plaza, past the pinna park cannon you should see palm trees, use the rocket nozzle to get up there and you have to find 8 red coins in this grassy area.

how do you get there? something is covering that hole, and the only way I know how to get rid of it is to make yoshi spit juice on it, but yoshi isn't waterproof...

You gotta ride Yoshi onto the boats, it's rather complicated and takes some patience but it's not necessarily difficult. If you take him onto the island on the west side of the plaza via underground passage, you can then take a ride on a couple boats that eventually will lead to the island with the pipe on it. I wanted to include that in this walkthrough, but it's simply too lengthly to record.
