  • i would use parsley cause i hate cilantro

  • not bad a lil fancy but hey use the seeds from the tomato its good too! :)

  • removing the seeds from the tomato reduces bitterness. removing them from the jalapeno reduces the heat. notice there's no garlic in this recipe to 'cool' it down and sweeten it up.

  • This is pico de gallo. not salsa.

  • they threw away the best parts of the tomato! what a waste!

  • no garlic?

  • Seeding the tomatoes is pointless, and in my opinion takes away from the flavor.

  • @brianmef Just like you taking away the "u" from flavour ;)

  • @freshtweak I assume you aren't from the USA then. We spell it that way here. :)

  • @freshtweak I know mate, was just being sarcastic :P

  • question do u have to use red onions can u use white?

  • nice

  • One small jalapeno, one??? Jeez just like the kind they make at Taco Cabana, weak "salsa".

  • Salsa? More like pico de gallo

  • pinche green go no save como aser salsa

  • Peel the tomatoes? That's bourgeois-salsa.

  • i just tried this recipe, added some sea salt and chives, topped a jacket potatoe with it, absolutely divine recipe, best one i've found on you tube

  • Nice video....Check out our Salsa in a Box.

  • Looks good, nice vid!

  • I have to say it again - there is absolutely no reason to peel/seed a tomato. It really annoys me when I see a chef take out the most flavourful part of the tomato for no reason at all. Do what you want, but your salsa will taste better with the seeds/skin in.

  • @hunthicks I think it's more that the seed part is just a little too liquid for this sort of salsa. I'm not disagreeing with you, but sometimes the seed portion of the tomato can mess with the texture that you're trying to achieve.

  • Yes there is....If you are making pico de gallo as they are in this recipe!

  • finaly someone says to let the flavor mix...people have the tendency to eat the salsa right after its put together in my openion thats wrong

  • this "salsa" here in mexico we call it " pico de gallo" and it's delicious!!! ^-^

  • Salsa tastes better when you roast the veggies, including the garlic, over a grill or a comal (the thingie we use for make tortillas).

And don't seed them! The essential oil of chiles and tomatoes are lost when you seed them.

  • I agree, especially with the tomatoes! If you eat a fresh, ripe tomato the most flavorful part is the seeds and the liquid surrounding them.

  • man how could I forget the garlic, thats so true I use 2-3 cloves

  • oh pls dont seed the tomatoe OR the hot pepper, :-) and add a little olive oil and vinegar, if you like

  • you sould also add some garlic. btw this looks delicious

  • lolwut? wut you doing with those seeds, whitey?

Tomatoes are good: all of the tomato. peel, seed, and all.

  • racist... lol

  • Gringo salsa...

  • you are corret

    Gringo salsa not mexican

  • Could you share your best salsa recipe?

I would add cumin, sugar, lemon, habenero or serano, green chili, and some finely chopped green pepper to this recipe.

This is a basic recipe as I'm sure the chef intended.

But I would really love to get an authentic mexican salsa recipe if you have one.

  • Yay! one of my favorite mexicaan foods! im a good chef though.......

  • Soma874

411 - CILANTRO is the LEAF of the CORIANDER plant, and they cannot be interchanged. CORIANDER is the FRUIT. The Mexicans don't use jalepeno but serano chilies, which are sooo much hotter.

  • OK, no more buying the stuff in jars for me, I'm going to try this.

Just want to say, Cilantro is called Coriander if you come from Europe etc.

  • Got any chips!!

  • sounds good, just missing some garlic!!

  • Thank you, Great recipe

  • really boil the tomatoes and get the skin off?? I thought just use em fresh...

  • im hungry now.. damn it!

  • salsa for dummies..WOOT!!!

  • FINALLY ... I KNOW HOW TO MAKE SALSA!

  • Remember before genitic engineering when tomatoes were red and great tasting on the inside? But now it has a longer shelf life, great, now it can sit there longer before i don't eat it!!

  • Say no to genetic engineering!- it only serves to profit companies who don't care about the repercussions.

  • Uggh, didn't you see in my comment that I don't like genetic engineering?

  • I'm delighted - we just need to spread the word

  • What? No garlic?

  • damn now i want to eat

  • They make it look so easy.

  • it IS easy, how can it be difficult, it's just chopping stuff. you don't even need to blanch those tomatoes you can just cut out the seed flesh if you want.
