i just flew to baja california w/ my chih mix. there are 2 ways to fly w/ a dog. if it's small enough like mine, they can fit in an approved bag which can be kept on the floor in front of your feet. the other way is to actually check them in and they are kept in a pressurized container near the luggage. although there is air and the temperature is regulated, the first method is much less traumatic for your dog. some airlines don't guarantee that your pet can board until you get there.
