Beautiful, beautiful work by Radin. Just heard it and love it...he does a great cover of Yaz's "Only You" as well. I actually found this video looking for other "Girlfriend" covers as I just uploaded my own.
I always see covers as a tribute to the original artist. All Joshua Radin is doing with this song, is recognizing the Smiths greatness.
That being said, this is the first cover of a song that actually made me mad. It sounds great, with any other song it would have been fine, but Girlfriend in a Coma! Come on, this song is not supposed to be like this, it was perfect in its original form, he should have done something his voice wold have actually suited, i know its over, or never had no one.

I checked out this song a couple days ago and there were so few comments.
Now Miley Cyrus discovers it and.. agh!
And to the people who are all "Ohhh, this song is sick and freaky"
Well first off, it's a cover... so get off his back.
And even if he had written it, this is what real emotion and truth in lyrics sounds like.
Let's say a family member of yours goes to the hospital.
Just because now you feel bad doesn't mean you never thought bad things about them before.
