  • Is this movie a REAL documentary or is it a "mocumentary" or whatever they call it? REAL OR FAKE MOVIE?

  • @LaddergoatSupreme

How about you Google it? Do you really think you're going to find a more factual answer to your question on YouTube?

  • Ted Williams is in this movie...the homeless guy with the golden voice!!!! watch for him he's a young DJ who has to report on the missing kids. Heraldo Rivera is also in this movie in a reference to his first expose.

  • Albert Fish is the movie of a real freak. Based on real shit. Docu-film based on his life will make your shorts creep up your crack. Who the fuck dips cotton balls in alcohol and shoves them up their ass and lights it on fire? Albert that's who. Who the fuck sticks pins up their scrotum barely missing vital organs? Yep The Gray Man The Cannibal child killer and eater. Now he is a scary movie.

  • 1:34 Manson's good twin?

  • It seems odd to me, that the character was known as 'Cropsey' and that was the name of the killer in 'The Burning', who killed with a bill hook. Which came first?

Looks like an interesting documentary though.

  • Hey everyone thanks for watching our trailer! The movie has been on Netflix for a while now so you can watch it online or you can buy it on DVD! For more on Cropsey, follow us on Twitter @cropseylegend and Like our CROPSEY page on Facebook!!

  • I watched this documentary this morning(4 AM) and it scared the crap out of me not for the urban legend but for those kids. Those kids who were murdered either by Rand or some creep or group, etc. who ever. It's sad and just terrifying. Heck my own sister was murdered too.

  • Filmsi can blow my dick, and so can the people who keep mentioning it

  • @wetdream09 SOLD!

  • This movie a real documentary or is it a found footage horror film like blair witch etc. i'm not sure.

  • fuck this documentary. from reading all the previous 158 comments, it seems like ti has way too many creepy pictures and scenes. fuck it, im gonna go search for another great documentary. gl to all who do see it tho

  • Duddee this documentary was so badass at alamo drafthouse

  • why is my dad in a film

  • If he was a mental patient.. then it was not his fault.

He was a clinically sick man, not demonic.

  • @ForgetingTheJew Is there a difference, if there is can you prove it?

  • My father grew-up with the legend of Cropsey at his 'Summer-camp'. When I was little, he would tell me scary bedtime stories about the legend of Cropsey. Now after watching this documentary, I know that the boogie-man is real.

  • They should make a horror movie out of this!

  • @666bosseh666 They kinda did.

Idk if based on this or not

    but it's a fictional version

called "The Burning" released in 1981

it has Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter in it.

  • @SuperCrespo27 NICE!!!! MOVIE ISNT EVEN HUMOROUS LOL EPIC FAIL.

  • Andre Rand is the boogeyman/Cropsey

  • I dont see how this movie was "Scary", it was a very well made documentary that was informing and interesting. It just shows how peoples imagination can run wild, e.g. the 'noises' in the tunnels just turned out to be a group of kids.

Interesting to see how the law works though.

  • @Nyamzz01 Thanks for ruining it for everyone.

  • nearly shit my pants whilst watching this. i was fried out of my fucking mind

  • An amazing documentary. So sad. I believe that Rand did it, I don't think that many Willowbrook employs can stay sane after working there.

  • Comment removed

  • Cropsey.

  • OMG

  • This documentary is a perfect example of how real life is much scarier than any of the fictional crap churned out by Hollywood.

  • its sea view they use it to make the movie eerie bc obv willowbrook isnt there any more

  • well that looked fucking scary

  • @djazr It is. Worst part is I live where this documentary was shot. -_-

  • @LuniaVideo sucks to be you LOL

  • Given the amount of information which has been disclosed about government mind control programs and government-big-contract-companies like DYNCORP and their history of child sex slave trafficking, the real question is, was Cropsy a mind control product, a perfect patsy to carry the baggage?

  • CROPSEY AVAILABLE ON HULU! i looked everywhere for this thing, but hulu had it the whole time. thumbs up so more people can shit their pants!

  • @QuestionMark308 omg thanks so much i was looking everywhere

  • i live on staten island now, right near the greenbelt center. right before the babe ruth league and across from seaview hospital is an abandoned building. what is it? for the life of me i can not find the name. i know st. augustine is near the verrazano and it looks too small to be willowbrook, unless i'm mistaken. anyone know the name?

  • @89cosmo The college of staten island absorbed some of Willowbrook so it's not that. It could just be some regular old abandoned building :P

  • @LuniaVideo

thanks. haha. i actually discovered what it is. on my right as i go towards south staten island is the farm colony, and on the left is seaview hospital.

  • Netflix creeepy flick

  • Where the hell can i find this movie

  • I love urban legends, ofcourse most of them are made up to scare people..but some are stories seen through human eyes..mix that with a little imagination and you have a kickass story.

  • this movie sure as fuck is scary when your stoned. no lie. lol

  • @wetdream09 That's good PR for the filmmakers. Thanks

  • @wetdream09 hahaha im stoned right now and this comment made me not want to see this movie. thank you, kind sir.

  • @mfcraigy

This will not stop Cropsey from getting to you.

  • @wetdream09 really? I'm not scared. Maybe you have a mental disorder :)

  • @Weedytje or maybe your not on the good shit!! ;)

  • @wetdream09 Hmz. I am shure the shit is excellent :) :) :)

  • @wetdream09 This guy I know laughed so hard at the movie theater because he was really high. We we're watching Saw 3.

  • @wetdream09 hahah yeah man tell me about i got high at night once and going through netflix and i started whatching it and when the footage with the mental kids in the hospital gave me a horrible vibe.

  • the movie looks interesting. due to its my last name

  • As anybody got any idea when this is out in the UK???????????

  • I live in staten island and my teacher knew jennifer. she had down syndrome and lived across frm her. it was so dangerous back then that the kids could only go to their backyards. my teacher used to invite jennifer over and shed never be able to come cause it was too dangerous to come around the block. she said jennifer would carry a red purse and the lady at 0:50 she knew her too.

  • Comment removed

  • @chakal619ph thats so immature and rude. she had down syndrome and everyone said she was an extremely sweet child. its so upsetting to see that unthankful people like you are born and be able to grow. but these pope are like thatforever. she was 12 and you behave like a 3 yr old.

  • @zeldalove1 hahahahahhahahhahhhaah who gives a fuck.. we were all born for a reason if its to be killed than fuck it life is life no one knows there destiny

  • @chakal619ph

you are one charming litle piece or shit aren't you? Get back to us when you move out of your mama's basement. We are not all born for a reason- if that were true you wouldn't be here.... or boy- you got a loooong karma trail of tears ahead of you for being such an asshole while wearing that skin.

  • Come watch the film live and meet the director Barbara Brancaccio at The Refectory in Metuchen, NJ on 10/2/2010!

  • that dog looks EXACTLY like mines. that husky. cept mine has a white line that goes from his head to that white loop around his neck. ahh.. i love my baby boy (:

  • poor baby girls.... almost like the wineville massacre.... sigh.... he is crazy, look into his lying eyes, it shows he is the killer.... and i was freaked out when the spirits of the girls started making those bumping sounds.... i heard of murder stories when they ate the kids after.... i bet that sick man did that! may those innocent sweet loving girls rest in heaven.... in heaven ur protected.... *crys* soooo sad!

  • No it is a documentary, not a fictional movie, actuall police evidence, photos , family members, more like a Forensic Files, very well made.

  • Hey, has anyone seen this? I want to see it, but I am afraid the camera will jump around a lot like the Blair Witch did. The jumpiness of the camera made me sick to my stomache. Can anyone offer insight?

  • is this ever going to repeat on ID discovery?

  • This kind of shit scares me shitless lol. My only fear are crazy escaped mental paitents. Did the killer die?

  • I watched this yesterday on ON DEMAND it was very well made, and did not dwell on the gore factors that some docs do. Worth watching.

  • @cadburyeggman did this movie jump around a lot like the Balir Witch Project did? I want to see this film, but I am afraid the it may jump around and give me a bad headache like the Blair Witch.

  • Click my name for the website link to watch full movies online free...works great! my friends and I all use it to watch movies

  • But like Roger Ebert said (in his Cropsey film review) "Sometimes the perfect suspect is not guilty."

  • my faveorite ben and jerrys ice cream is cinamon buns

  • @KlTTYFAT why don't u go die

  • @dfszinho02 :)

  • ghost robot is the worst name for anything ever

  • Hmmm...I've lived on Staten Island for over 20 years and I've *kind of* heard of this "Cropsey." I used to go to summer camp at High Rock and I recall hearing stories of a mad man living in the woods in the Greenbelt. Besides that, I've never heard of him or these legends. Interesting though.

  • @Mitsyrules So is this legend real, or is it something made up for a movie. This is really confusing.

  • @Katana991 its real

  • Why is everyone comparing it to Blair Witch? Other than they've filmed in a wooded area it is nothing like the Blair Witch.

  • I sat next to that Zeman guy on a plane yesterday. He's so nice.

  • OMG!I never new this man actually existed! My mom used to tease my sister and I about Cropsey the axe murderer when we were little.Whenever we did something wrong she would scare us and say hes gonna get us!I had no idea he was an escaped mental patient!Look at his piercing eyes, look at that rape face!

  • i love the premise of filmmakers in the woods...

i miss films like blair witch

  • I thought the killers eyes were going to jump off...

  • Just saw this tonight in manhattan, and would really recommend it. The trailer is misleading, yet is calculated to bring in commoners to wanna see it. I found it fascinating. I even wanna go to Willowbrook State school and tour the abandoned grounds now, but my husband says No way will he go with me. and I would NEVER wanna go alone, even in the daytime....

  • @bigcatfb

Actually, Willowbrook School is now the College of Staten Island and is not abandoned. The images shown in the trailer of the Staten Island Farm Colony, which used to be a sort of poor house. The Farm Colony is not scary at all. I've been many times, even by myself once. It's actually kind of nice, it's peaceful. The scariest thing there you'll see is drunk kids.

  • This movie will be playing here later this month, and I CANNOT WAIT!!!

  • This looks like a good documentary, but I'm not sure I can sit through a whole movie listening to that accent.

  • shit, I would have tagged the place over before they filmed

  • What is it that they supposedly "see" at the end of the hallway before they freak out and run away. Also what the hell are those brown puddle things she's hyperventilating over at the end? Are we meant to believe its blood or something? O_o

  • @cessygirl I know...I love how these documentaries and reality shows like Paranormal State and Ghist Hunters are always like..."what was that?" Magically, they always catch this stuff on film, becuase if they didnt nobody would watch. The fact that she sees 'bloody footprints' makes me dismiss this as total bull immediately.

  • @frost69nyc, actually, it's not trying to be scary or BLAIR WITCH/GHOST HUNTERS at all. The trailer didn't do a good job with this one. It's a documentary about a man that was convicted of a child murder in the 1980's.

The documentary is asking the question if he in fact was the one that did it. It's about as impartial a documentary as I've ever seen. The filmmakers don't give you their opinion on the case and allow the viewers to make up their own mind after being given the facts of the case.

  • What a load of shit! "Cropsey" was the name of the killer in the 1981 slasher flick "The Burning"(which is excellent, by the way, and far superior to "Friday the 13th")

  • @kodiakfred140 The Burning was awesome...remember when he was in the canoe? Scared the crap outta me when I was a kid.

  • @frost69nyc Yeah. Me too! That's why it's still one of my favorites, even now.

  • @kodiakfred140 Dude,no Fri 13th,no The Burning!!!!!!!Fri 13th was a milestone in slasher cinema............

  • True Story. Staged Movie.

  • Cropsey is coming to rape you!!!

  • i wish i thought of this. trailer looked like it could've been creepier tho.

  • Eerie.

  • Left me wanting more... what really happened to those kids?!? And now I have to buy the friggen DVD to find out what happens?! Ugh. Ok, when does this go on Netflix?

  • It is WRONG that they're profiting from the families of the missing children. Haven't the families been through enough?! This film should not be screened due to the exploitation of the families involved. WHERE is the petition banning this film?! UGH!

  • @Worthwhiles The families was in the movie and the movie is a documentary.

  • @Worthwhiles what are you talking about? Did you see the movie? It was fantastic. The families are not being exploited at all. In fact the families had a big part in the documentary. Why ban this? Are you also for book burning as well?

  • the profits of this movie should go to the national center for missing and exploited children so this never happens again. i know the pain these families have went through because i'm one of them. and if this movie was just made for your own profit, then go to hell.

  • I think this is an absolute mockery of the cases

of the missing children in Staten Island.

This man did not know the inside facts about this case, he was just a child then.

There are misinterpreted facts in this documentary, and I think it is a disgrace

to the grieving families of their lost ones.

    this just isn't right.

I would know, because I am a family member

of one of these missing children.

You're trying to make a profitable movie

over these tragedies? That is just disrespectful.

  • @shannerific straight up, sorry for your loss. HollyWood is a fucking pathetic group of people trying to make a dime off anyone they can. Even if that someone was kidnapped or related to a kidnapped person. Hollywood execs, sons a bitches. fuckem all. I am sorry for your loss. seriously i am. I will not go see this movie. God Bless

  • Willowbrook is also where Typhoid marry started

  • The building is the old Seaview Hosp. Searches were done on the property there but Jennifer Schweiger's body was found on Willowbrook grounds. I was 14 yrs old & part of the search team (Friends of Jennifer) that searched for her. It was creepy searching through those buildings..probably what they are trying to convey in the movie.

  • when is this coming out and where can I Find out on DVD

  • Cropsey was the name of my evil Kindergarten teacher....this is odd

  • I dont understand quite sure the purpose of the documentary . what's the story behind this house or place?

  • Willowbrook was the name of a mental institution on Staten Island. No, it's not an urban legand, the institution did exist, and some of the buildings still stand on the outskirts of the present Colle of SI. Back in the 70s, a young Geraldo Rivera exposed the place as hellish. Residents were chained to pipes, tied to beds in their filth, countless cases of neglect & abuse. I'm not familiar with this Cropsey person.

  • From what I gather this is a documentary more about Andre Rand (Rashan) unlike the BWP, which was simply shot documentary style.

  • Pleeaaseeee , piece of s...

  • Just another blair witch project...

  • O M G A MOVIE ON STATEN ISLAND!!!!!!!!! OMGGGGGGG

that place is pretty spooky when I drive by there at night...

  • Irrelevant, but hilarious.

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • I was born in Staten Island, too bad i only live there for two years and never got to hear all the stories

  • blair witch project sucked dick, including open water

  • @mrbonkers99

    LOOOOOL, i know right??

  • @mrbonkers99 Yes, but Blair Witch is a piece of fiction. This is an actual documentary...

  • @mrbonkers99 if you were from the rock you would understand that this film is awesome and long over due.

  • @mrbonkers99 maybe you should do some research before making stupid remarks. Blair Witch was based on FICTION-a 'Mockumentary'...Cropsey Legend is FACT bud. I live across the bridge from Staten Island in Perth Amboy and still remember driving across the Outerbridge with my buddies when we were teenagers to scare the pants off each other in the woods at Willowbrook. I also remember Giraldo's expose on the institution. I am sure many ghosts of the tormented remain in the woods to this day...

  • @mrbonkers99, The Blair Witch Project wasn't based on a real case. Yes, it's in the woods. Maybe it's Bigfoot. Maybe it's Cabin fever. It's Evil Dead. It's Eurotrip.

  • @mrbonkers99 Difference is this is a actual documentary, Blair Witch was fake or did you think Blair Witch was real ? You probably did.

  • @RockLibertyWarrior You propably think that there are monsters under your bed you dummy.

  • yay! Staten Island slowly gains attention in movies!

  • Actually this is a case of truth being stranger than fiction. The Cropsey story comes from an actual serial killer in upstate New York in the 70s . Look it up , theres all sort of info out there on the web about it

  • Dude, laim! What the **** ,same **** as blair witch project

  • wow, u must not get not much, studios make movies over and over

  • WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT THING AT 46 SECS?

  • You're goin to hell for that one.

  • Comment removed

  • @10JECT10 lol dickhead she was the first one to be kidnapped i think

  • new blairwitch is old

  • This looks REALLY good.

  • stuff like this happens everywhere and it never makes it to tv only certain cases make it to the tv

  • That''s because it's the circumstance of the case. If it's just another killing it most likley won't make it on the news. But, if there is a HUGE case to go along with the murder, it will probably make it. Like "Jefery Dahmer". He made it on the news because of the case. He didn't just kill people. He put bodies in his freezer and ket them there. He was a psychopath... It just really depends on the case. But, you're right. Alot of stuff doesn't make it to the news.

  • I remember the camp counselors scaring us to death! with Cropsey coming to get you. and that was Liberty New York Upstate. Thank you Guys too cool!

  • omg i so remember that too, only i was in bear mountain, and the camp counselors scared us to death with a prank one night saying it was cropsey

  • Some segments I recognize, Farm Colony.

  • I was lucky enough to have seen this at the Tribeca Film Festival screening last night. Barb and Jeff - FANTASTIC JOB! (I am Jim C's GF). I can't wait to see this on HBO or some other medium.

  • I will say one word to escribe everything.... HOT.....I have to see this one...

  • Looks bad ass!!!

  • I would love to know where this is, they are leading you to believe it is Willowbrook, but its not.

  • It is willowbrook. About 9 years ago when i was like 17-18 a bunch of us went there late one night to check it out. The place is HUGE. We were in one of the buildings and we here a lady scream for over 30 seconds in a room down the hall. It was the absolute scariest thing any of us ever experienced. As we ran out all 3 of our flashlights died...needlessto say none of us ever went back.

  • No its not, its Seaview hospital

  • Absolutely is the old SEAVIEW HOSPITAL and NOT Williowbrook. 100% sure

  • =D The NYC Farm Colony!!
