I just bought a PowerBook G4 15" 1.5Ghz 1GB RAM 80GB HDD off ebay for £225... which by doing some research is a good price :) but after reading comments on youtube im a little worried that it will be some slow peice of junk :( i was hoping to put logic 8 on it... but we shall see when it arrives... if not i know i can get more than i payed for it so im not all that botherd :D But if it matches my dell inspiron 1520 then il be over the moon! fingers crossed!

@ThePhoneUpdate Just save up for a MacBook, even if saving up a $1000 for the current gen is too much, you can get an older generation for really cheap (I saw a mid-09 Macbook for only 600 dollars at my local computer shop, and I've seen many go even lower on eBay) and even with an older MacBook you will be able to run Snow Leopard and have support for all of the latest applications, which is something that you can't say about many G5s. :)

On regards to playing youtube videos you should try downloading the camino web browser it seems to run flash allot faster than safari or firefox on older PowerPC Mac's XD
I'm watching this video on the same unit but running 10.5.8 Leopard except 1.25 GB of ram(1 GB and a 256 mb stick) and this video comes in faster and less choppy then my 1.6 GHz netbook, the only difference other than ram is mines got a 120GB hdd upgrade.
garageband comes installed on all mac laptops as part of the ilife package , so yes it should , and if it has been removed you can buy it for £71 (uk this is) - but I would strongly suggest buying an intel mac. I have a macbook pro , and my sister has an ibook g4 - and although it is a good solid little computer that has lasted her YEARS , it is a lot slower than my macbook pro , and thats even with a recent big refurb
